Danny! I'm a horrible chipper & pitcher of the ball, until now. After listening to you for 12 min. I actually went out and duplicated what you taught. Thanks so much.
Danny I've gotten so much from your videos. Your descriptions are detailed and understandable and well thought out. That makes it easier to take with me to use practically. I've lost several strokes as a result of your guidance, and more importantly, I am no longer physically sore from playing, as I'm no longer forcing the strokes. It's made playing fun again and I really appreciate your contributions.
Danny, you have to be one of the best golf instructors that I have ever seen. Why? Because unlike tons of sophisticated instructors,, you explain, and show, in plain English each part of the swing in a manner easy to understand. As a senior golfer, I have practice some of your tips and has help my game, believe me! Keep up the good work, you are terrific
These tutorials are absolutely magic!!! Explanations are so simple yet exactly to the point. Also, more importantly, delivered in such a way that I can visualise and remember the lessons. Well done Danny! Keep them coming :)
Hi Danny! Absolutely great and simple instructions about "new" way to chip and pitch. In addition your How to drive the ball for seniors has helped me to break 80 twice in the last couple of days--I shot my career round of 78 both days!!! Thank you so much. You explain in great detail and very simple to understand. Awesome instructor and very passionate. You've been an incredible help to me. Thank you!!!!
This is such a comprehensive, terrific piece on chipping and pitching! How lucky and fortunate I am to come across Danny Maude's instructions! I have improved my game a lot since then for which I thank you!!!
Brilliant Danny, I’ve had yips for 2 years as a 6 hdcp, can you imagine the frustration, this best video I’ve seen. I’ve recently watched TV golf world with Mitch Spearman in Bahamas with a young lad giving lessons. One thing he mentioned was to get your triceps attached to the front of your chest ie arms not at side of body but on chest. You say a similar thing, but this allows you to stay attached far better in one piece. It was a little pearl of wisdom, which as you state but the triceps just solidified it all, wow 😮 it’s working, taking club back lower as a result no steep angle of attack chunks any more. Thanks Danny ❤️ your work.
Finally, most vids don’t show the difference, I’m 63, in the old days chipping was talked about more. Now most show pitching but call it chipping. Good job thanks
Danny, You are an awesome chipping instructor! For someone who developed the chipping yips and listened to all the advice re forward lean of the shaft etc. and watched Phil's and Dave Pelz's short game videos with little result, it is amazing to me how effective your simple and clearly explained advice is. Especially your right hand only drill. It really addresses what I have been doing wrong for the last few years. Thank you for making golf fun again! Bless you, bless you , bless you.
blah blah thank you for taking the time to let me know, I too was brought up learning the shaft lean technique, I even coached it in my early years as a pro. I still use it for a variety of shots but it’s just not an easy technique to get right.
That jacket, with the different colored zipper, is a great visual tool showing your spine/balance. I noticed this on another video demonstrating weight shift. Thanks again Maestro...my game is getting better watching and listening to your instruction.
Whenever my chipping/pitching breaks down (today), I watch this video again and go back to this simple technique. Thanks for your great instruction, Danny!
Bro, Thank you. I have been playing golf for 30 years and for some reason my chipping has been horrible for the last 3 years. The rest of my game is pretty good but chipping costs me at least 5 to 10 strokes a round. I am a 10 handicap and have been practicing your techniques for the last week. Your videos showed me at least 3 or 4 bad habits that I have fallen into for the last 3 years. My goal for this year is to get back into a single digit handicap. I just subscribed, you are very good. Thanks again from Canada. I
Again danny perfect timing I am starting to think you are following my golf game and making videos on my weaknesses, thanks again I will be practising hard with this
What a great explanation and clarification between Chipping and Pitching. How to swing both, as well as which clubs to consider for each type of swing. I just started watching your videos and have learned so much which I can apply to my golf game and improvements.
Brilliant! What a good teacher. My Achilles heal has been pitching/chipping for years . Pretty sure my left side breaks down and the club head passes my hands at impact. Gonna work on the triangle with that thought process you layed out. Thanks!
As always Danny you're giving us sound images and feel thoughts to take to the practice ground. Your lesson on avoiding hitting behind the ball is really starting to work for me now. This is a great confidence builder. Many thanks and keep up the good work.
Awesome, thanks Danny. What I like about you is you seem to be the first youtube golf coach that understands he's talking to people of different abilities. That just made a whole lot of sense and I can't wait to get out there and put this into action! :-)
@@DanielMaude No problem, these techniques are working a treat! Was out there yesterday trying the "hands down" compression technique and my balls were popping of the ground beautifully :-)
Just wanted to say this video helped me to simplify my chipping and pitching. I was suffering from the yipps in this regard. I was using these drills all week in my yard and they helped instill confidence in that part of my game today!
Great lesson Danny this is my weakest department and so often mess up a good score with thinning, fat and even hitting the ground and not contacting the ball. I will try this and also relax my grip and get confident and get rid of the fear. Many thanksDanny!
Danny Maude had a great day so making progress for the simple off the green chip I get the heel off the ground and use a putting stroke, otherwise as you have demonstrated. Being confident and relaxed getting rid of a tight grip helps! Once again thank you, love your lessons.
Danny is an amazing golf instructor not only did I learn something new, he also made that amazing shot that was caught on camera demonstrating his technique really can improve your game. I was cracking up when I saw the expression on his face after making the shot. “Not bad eh?” Ha!
Danny Maude thank u Danny ...I just won in a local tournament today.Thats how good your teaching is...please yourself a pat on the back for me.I m your fan for life bro!
Absolutely brilliant stuff.. This is the area of me game what need some work but what i love about this video is you have spent quite a bit of time explaining it.. some people just show you and don't break anything down... Keep up the good work
Great tutorials Danny. Helping me get back into golf. Striking the ball so much better. And most importantly, enjoying it more. And kicking some arse. Thank you!
Another great lesson, Danny! I love to watch your videos. You are very knowledgeable and have a way of teaching that makes even a golfing neophyte like me understand:). Thank you. Love the hole in one, btw. Really helps cement the lesson. Please do that more often.😁
Danny I watched this video and I have been playing for 30 years. I tried it and I’ve never chipped and pitched better in my life ! So thanks 👍 now I need to sort my irons out 😖
Danny #1 great. You have the fine wisdom and gift for sharing your knowledge. Actually headed out to the course to do some putting, chipping and pitching now. Thanks so much!
great video. you explained clearly the difference and the technique required. since this area is the weakest part of my game I am definitely going to put your lesson onto practice.
Danny, I cannot thank you enough for sharing these amazing tips. I just started golfing (Less than a year in) and a major shortfall in my game has always been my short game, well I am pretty much still terrible at everything but pitching and chipping was something that cripples my score. Thanks to this video, I managed to get +18 for my latest 9 hole game. Still terrible I know, but just before this video I was still shooting +27 and above. Hope this carries over to my next game though! Thank you so much for this!
This is terrific. Thanks, Danny! First video I've seen that compares/contrasts chipping and pitching from the same distance, and I like that you point out the differences between the two approaches. And I really liked the suggestion for those timid to use a higher loft on a chip to think more like a pitch. That's me, terrified to use high lofted clubs so close to the pin. :) :)
I Love How there are so many variations and techniques in golf there are thousands of different ways. if you could make a video please for me on how to get out of a bunker! and also how to stand in a bunker like how to be grounded in a bunker and how to get out of a bunker I'd really appreciate that many thanks! Your videos are really helping me
Thanks Danny, my biggest weakness at the moment especially off those well trodden areas around the green - great tips backed by practical examples - great shot by the way!!!

Good video comparing both pitch and chip. What do you do with a pitch and run? I usually put my feet ahead of the ball and angle my club in striking the ball. Seems to work well - ball takes flight and rolls onto the green.
Hi Danny your method of chip n pitch goes against everything I've ever heard but works beautifully!!!!... Tighten the triangle is definitely my new way of chip n pitch.... question would you recommend that for full approach shots from 150 or so?

How many outtakes did it take, to chip one straight into the hole 😃, good to see you’re giving advice on probably the most important part of the game if you want to lower your handicap
I am usually pitching due to elevated greens, bunkers, etc on mountain courses. I use my A wedge a lot all around the green. I rarely get to make a low chip and run shot. Part of the reason is because I can often put it on the green from some distance. I see people on flat British courses chipping and running onto flat greens from short and long distances, I rarely get a chance to do that.
Danny, apologies sorry what I meant was that after the chip onto large extremely fast greens have you suggestions, when getting to putting stage how to stop going many yards past hole, then losing your bottle and putting short, resulting in 3/4 putts. It’s more a putting long distance on really speedy greens when your used to putting on slowish greens.

Hello Danny, fan of your videos! Quick question: is it okay to take a divot with pitching shots of 50 or more yards? Thank you.

Mark Stanley if you don’t want to get right underneath the ball just have a little more forward lean in the shaft at impact
