      @mister.T Jr , not really. Andrew Yang is reaching across the aisle and doesn't play identity politics. What's wrong with taking good ideas and building on top of them? This isn't sports. Or competition. This is our Rebulic and until we start treating it as such we all lose, except those already controlling the power and wealth.
      He wants to work together to fix root causes to our problems, leaving no one out. How is that divide and conquer?
      Old politics out in with the new.

      @Michael Kahr So, I'm curious. Please explain the evidence that an economy with near record low unemployment and underemployment, the highest pay levels for ordinary workers ever achieved in history - among the highest in the world (the "stagnation" myth having been long debunked), poverty at levels not seen in nearly 30 years and less than half a percentage point above the lowest ever recorded and the standard of living across every income quintile materially improving ... "cannot work anymore?" Even if the "extreme wealth divide" were not massively overblown (to the point of being mostly fictional), isn't the real objective to make everyone better off regardless of how any articular group is doing better ... which is objectively the case? Just askin'?

      so, if the extreme wealth divide is mostly fiction, then we can audit all oligarchs, here and now, and if we find any revenue that came from the 99 %, and remove it from their possession, that we would not find enough revenue to repair more than 1% of the chronic damages that the 99% endure???!!!

    Every parent, right or left, knows what they’d do if they took their child to a playground and that child hoarded most of the toys on the playground even though they couldn’t possibly play with them all at once. They’d demand that their child choose the toys they wanted to play with right then, and to relinquish the rest for others to enjoy. There are 7 BILLION people on this Earth and a few bullies have hoarded all the resources with official-looking papers of “ownership.” We have to find a better system of divvying up the wealth that was here long before some billionaire called it his own. To ever know peace, we first have to learn to share... or at least stand up to the bullies who think the entire playground is theirs.

    • @SirPhysics
      @SirPhysics 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Parents also know that if their child brings some toys, let's say Legos, to that playground, they shouldn't have to distribute their toys evenly among all of the children there? Why should their child have to give up their toys just because some other kid didn't think to bring their own?
      People buy into this kind of crony capitalism because conservatives and oligarchs have so effectively beaten this false dichotomy into their brains: either you have a system where the rich can gather unlimited amounts of wealth at the expense of everyone else and have all the control they can buy or you have Soviet-style breadlines where nobody owns anything and everything is forcibly redistributed by the state. There is no middle ground. Unless they presented the current system as the only alternative nobody would support it.

    • @ursamagickmt672
      @ursamagickmt672 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@SirPhysics
      If you were really a parent you would know a playground has play equipment so the kids don't need to bring anything but a snack and bandaids. In the example that was set, the child without toys would hit the kid with the most toys, there would be crying and pushing and your kid would come home with a broken doll and no sweater cuz that's how kids are.
      Adults, however, should have learned to share by now. Selfish and greedy kids become oligarchs.
      Or Republicans (except for the college years where the learn about Ayn Rand and think they're libertarians).

    • @HillbillyHippyOG
      @HillbillyHippyOG 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Earth, like a playground, came equipped with everything needed to sustain life. No one was born with any “possessions.” But we were all born into a system that had used violence to predetermine ownership for every last tree and rock. Just ask any indigenous population... the American Indians, the Aborigines, etc. we can’t even leave our mother’s womb without trespassing on private property.

      How do you get that message across to voters, especially when voter turnout remains so low by design? In 2010, it was 42% overall, in 2014, it was 37%, and in 2018 it was 50% (36% only for those younger than 30). The margin of victory for the GOP controlling the majority of our country's local, state, and Federal elections is dwarfed by the people who didn't vote. We can't entirely blame voter suppression either.
      Money in infotainment ensures messages like yours will never become mainstream.
      This is what I'm struggling with nowadays. My TH-cam/social media algorithm means my feed is populated by videos like Robert Reich whereas another person will have white supremacist content, gaming streams, makeup videos, travel vlogs, comic books, etc. That's not even touching older people who mainly watch pay television, so FOX News has their minds under lock.

As long as you have a free market, money will rule and you'll never have the 'of and by the people' government our constitution promises. I used to tell my friends that we are the Great Roman empire of the (then) 20th century - and we are about to crumble, just as they did. People thought I was nuts. The thing is, as Americans, we're too cocky, we think our form of government is the end all and be all. It's not. It was another experiment. Any like every form of government before us (including communism), it will fail because of money, power and greed.

      Andrew Yang (and his base) bases his platform off of a singular idea that is based on well known, discussed, documented, observable, measurable economic fallacies. It's absolutely unreal that people can take someone seriously who literally bases their main platform on something that isn't just easily refuted, but has historically been already proven to be a false premise.
      Just google the Luddite Fallacy. If you don't get it after reading up, then you might be stupid.

      @Blizard fan if you want to stop illegal immigration, you have to punish those who gives them jobs. That is how illegal work was eradicated in Holland. An owner of a restaurant that has a unregistered worker faces a fine of eu 50.000 - nobody san afford that, so they stopped with hiring people like that in no time.
      Also, because economy needs foreign workers, you have to make it easier for people to get to the country legally, and give them options to stay temporarily, just for seasonal work, and to build time after which they can "earn" right to stay and live in usa, the country tat is made and build by immigrants :)))

      You can't just vote Democrat and hope for the best. Lots of Democrat politicians are neoliberals. They love huge corporations and have, by and large, swallowed the lies of Milton Friedman and Ayn Rand. Mostly though, these folks are baby boomers, but there are some among other generations as well. Just not as many. Pelosi, Schumer, the Clintons, Mayor Pete, Biden, Beto, well, most of the pols in Washington, are neoliberals.
      Not any blue will do.

    • @anthonytwohill9726
      @anthonytwohill9726 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Blizard fan it's not just the false narrative of neoliberal economics either. Many Dems are corrupt too. Kamala the phony pulled her investigation into Steve Mnuchin's SunTrust mortgage company even though counsel in the Cali AG's office found 1000 cases of fraud and was only halfway through the paperwork. Mnuchin donated to her campaign She claims to have smoked weed in college and how many weed smokers is she responsible for jailing as a prosecutor? Hypocrite as well. Elizabeth Warren made a name for herself barking at Wall Street CEOs but how effective has her "shame only campaign" been in uncovering fraud at the financial institutions? She did start the CFPB which HAS done some good, so I'll give her credit for that. Not Obama, nor Eric Holder went after Wall Street fraud once in office. Obama bailed on the public option when he didn't have to and violated the US Constitution when he drone striked a US citizen on foreign soil because he was in the company of alleged terrorists. Thought he'd be better on civil rights. Nobel peace prize winning, drone striker and deporter in Chief. Also a huge corporatist neoliberal.
      I could go on but I don't want to, it's too heartbreaking.
