A BIG thank you to CorePunk for sponsoring today’s video. Early access launched on 11/26 and you can pre-order now at: cw9m.short.gy/Nixxiom See you all in game!
I disagree that Corepunk's quest system is "like vanilla WoW." Vanilla WoW used to tell you where you needed to go, at least a direction and a place name. Corepunk gives you no indications at all. Even Morrowind quests had rudimentary instructions. Corepunk's design isn't old-fashioned, it doesn't indicate "lack of handholding," it's just badly designed under the guise of "old-fashioned MMO."
They released an update literally a couple of days ago which introduces map markers for the general area your objective is located. It's something at least. This is still in the testing phase, but the developers are looking at feedback. The recent update has definitely helped locate quest objectives.
I do agree with this, but its early access and its not meant to fully be like this, the early game design even had markers over NPC heads, Im sure they will keep updating it to find a sweet spot, while keeping the theme park out of the game
if you read the quest in the journal it gives you a location hint as well as you can play the audio to get other hints. it usually gives a good indicator. and if you're still lost you can always ask global chat for a pin. and yeah. the npcs also give pins on quests too. so i didn't have this experience.
I'm so happy you enjoyed the voiceover in this game because I voiced three of the characters! There are some AI voices as placeholders until voiceover artists are hired, but they're pretty obvious when you hear them - however, if you come across Lily Baxter, Shawna Steelheart, or Lingua, those gals are all me! When I saw you posted this, I got super excited that you played something I was in and clicked immediately. :D Hopefully I'll get the chance to try Corepunk out in the next few months. I love your videos Nixxiom - thank you for all you do!
Glad you gave it a chance dude I’m really enjoying it myself.. those world bosses don’t fk around though lmao. One thing I would like though is the npc either marking an approximate area or a bit more detail like travel past the corn field to the right of the tractor and continue heading left and ull find said thing.
Yeah I enjoy the game but so far only in burst, I can't sit there all day trying to do a handful of quest, so I just waste a few hours on 1 then take a break for a couple days lol
Game is pretty fun. My issue with it is there is just too much gambling. Its more so developed to be addicting than satisfying. And its an awful design that you lose your materials when you fail a craft.
MMO's have been a dying genre for me personally. My first ever MMO was Ragnarok Online in 1998 and nostalgia from that game at that time feels almost exactly what Corepunk is going for, it really is not for everyone, but for us old school games this is the only type of MMO we could ever get back into. The fact that the gameplay style is exactly like a MOBA which is a genre I played for many years too, makes it even better I will be waiting a bit longer for full release or maybe less to get into Corepunk. Very excited for the games evolution! Great review thank you!
While I know it's unfair to compare the two games I think a lot of people will try compare this to other open PvP games like Ashes of Creation or Albion Online. I hope it can stand on it's own two feet
This feels like a better Diablo or even Titan quest but with more MMORPG flavor. My brain didnt catch enough about the combat or skills, but it seems like some nice fun after day's work. PS. You put "Number 8" text in pros 2 times.
The voice acting is actually not good. There are a select few npcs, mainly in the starting area, that are actually voice acted. Most of them are AI voices that sound pretty bad. I’ve encountered a few non-voiced or misspelled dialogue and sometimes misleading quests.
@@mcschipper I think what he is trying to say is that when you get a new artifact piece that is more powerful than your previous one, the item has no visual cosmetic affect on your characters body. Unlike other traditional MMORPGs when you get a cool epic shoulder piece everyone in the game can see that on your character.
@@kolyagreen1566 it doesn't matter if it is new piece of armor or old piece of armor this particular game has no cosmetic effect on the artifacts being worn by the character, the only way to gather new armor skins is random loot drops
So I've been playing this game since early access and I'm level 20. This is my feedback. Gameplay wise this is an MMO is something I always wanted and I enjoy it a lot. Open world PVP is also fun and I like the karma system. Okay now for the bad (and it's a lot). Most glaring issue is the lack of content. Once you hit 20 there's very little to do. Also, I have a counterpoint on the voice acting. This is one of the worst voice acting I've ever heard. Given how you were level 5 at the end of your session you didn't notice it, but later on the game is pretty much all AI generated and the voice of characters randomly swap mid dialog. It's so bad it makes the world feel souless. There are so many glitches (the seed quest right now is glitched and wont work as an example). Forming a party is a nightmare. Crafting percentages increases also don't make sense. I can't tell if i don't gain a percentage on a craft if it's a glitch or intended. There's 0 feedback on the menu. Lack of guilds is also an issue. In summary this is a mess that feels pre alpha. Maybe in a year this can be considered my favorite MMO of all time. Right now however I can't recommend as it gives you about 2 weeks of buggy content and that's about it.
10:00 Wildstar? **Double-checks gameplay** Have those people never seen League of Legends? Cause that's exactly what this looks like, but more open and with stuff to do. Hell, Heroes of the Storm should come to mind before Wildstar...
garbage game, look at the quests. its just fetch quests and kill quests lmao. no actual gameplay, just grind mindlessly. ofc sponsored video glazing it. quest: kill 10 rats... wow guys next gen mmo.

On their website if you click no for “are you over 18” it redirects you to baby shark on youtube
no way
i honestly believe 99% of mmorpg gamers don't like video games.
if league and WOW had a baby itd be this
Well, saying you gave a game a chance doesn't mean much if you got paid to do it.............
I'll stick to turtle wow
duuude i just came to this video because turtle wows pve server fuckin crashed xDDDD
Nixxiom saying, "I didn't like this until I did" isnt controversial lol that's everything.
when they paid him he started liking the game

Will this game come on steam ? and also will there be a sale ?
They have to allow refunds if it's on steam.

They did this for first quests now! Experimental
@ I did notice that tonite!
I am genuinely interested and have been since its announcement, but no Steam?

Not a fan of that kind of system. FF14 does crafting so well because it rewards good gameplay and high effort to get better materials
artifacts are your stat increases gear is pure cosmetic

Repeat after me: lack of basic QoL features isn't "hard-core". It's just lazy development.
Corepunk is not challenging, it's just frustrating.
Repeat after me: QoL features ruin games, specially MMORPGS.
How is it lazy if it's intentional?
corepunk is going be for older gamers, new gamers need to have everything handed to them
that's cool and all. but when's it coming out? I don't want my stuff wiped at the end of EA
try "no rest for the wicked"
I'm having a ton of fun with corepunk, I've wanted this kind of mmo for so long.
no steam...rip
didn’t ask

I tried it but the combat and movement felt awful, also it's lacking WASD.
every review is sponsered
Gaslighting at it's finest
i might try this
The fact the game doesn’t have visually distinct armor and weapons makes me completely uninterested.
It does 😅...

Sorry, but PoE2 is better
I'm not a fan of 6th person view though tbh but this looks interesting.
Oh god... not a MAGA hat in the background 😮💨
It says Azeroth not America
@MrNoPro I want to believe you. Too blurry in the video. Still, I heard Nix say he's OK with 4 more years.
