Hey Matt, I know you purchased our mount a few months back, just curious why you switched. The TPU we use will help eliminate vibrations, that's why we use TPU over hard plastic, the difference is tremendous. Also try using a lower ND filter, looks like many of your shots had too much motion blur, if using an ND16 try dropping down to an ND8, especially for those lower light scenarios. When you have too much motion blur it makes it hard on the ReelSteady processing, it often doesn't perform as well. Great video, keep it up!
Hey! I really enjoy your mount as well. I initally switched just to test out this other one, but I haven't noticed any major differences at all. I'll add a link to the description. Thanks for watching/commenting!

Hey! Still testing out the battery mount, thank you for sending it. I got the hero 10 yesterday and have been trying it with your mouth and a few others and have found that once I hit record the GPS signal drops by half. Even with wireless connections and gps on the GoPro off. What do you think about a mount that is an inch forward on the FPV to clear the GPS chip?
@@zefitech Hey Matt, I didn't notice that with previous GoPro models, it does that with the Insta360 One X2 though (360 camera). I haven't had good weather yet to try it with our Hero 10 yet, received it almost a week ago... been raining for days. The GoPro doesn't actually cover the GPS using our top mount so it may be some sort of RF interference going on. Does it do it with the battery mount? I'll report back in the next few days when I get a chance to fly it.
NOTE: I was using the GoPro Hero 8 for this video which works great on the DJI FPV. There are some reported GPS interference issues when clicking record on the Hero 10. I've tested this out myself and haven't found any mounts on the market that fix this issue.
I'm thinking of getting the GoPro for my DJI FPV, I just don't find the built in camera quality sufficient enough and with the 150 degrees they advertised which the propellers ruin anyway. You've made some good points in your video regarding warranty therefore I'm going to check my care refresh ToS one more time before committing to the GoPro Hero 10. Thanks for your video!
Thanks for watching! I will say, after trying the Hero 10 I did have some issues with GPS interference, but I have seen others on TH-cam who have done that configuration with success. Definitely something to look into though.
Gopro definitly looks better + Reelsteady is unmatched. However I think the DJI camera looks pretty good in some scenarios, and sometimes it looks, crap, depends much on the lighting + settings I think. In terms of stabilization, using the DJI camera demands much more of the pilot, you can get great results if you fly really smoothly. But that makes it quite hard if you try doing a shot, then screw up just one bit, the shot may be ruined and you have to do it again. Not and issue if you use Gopro + Reelsteady. Main issue with this setup seems to be the weight, some people say it affects the performance a lot, on a already heavy drone, while some say they dont notice it much. What do you think about it?
The weight and aerodynamics are a concern - would be no bueno for freestyle operators, but I don't notice a difference in the way I've been flying it . And I agree the DJI camera does look great under those conditions. I wish we could some how have the best of both worlds lol as it's certainly annoying to tend to an extra camera on the drone.
The same happened to me on my first try to this setup today.. Motors were so hot that they were burning to the touch. Also a heavy burnt smell. Tomorrow I will test if the motors still work as intended.
same here. Almost blew the motors. Gopro360. Have rigged the go pro a little more to the centre but still seems to struggle. Any new progress from you? @@fifo

Hey , thanks for your video, i have a question can i fly with mi gopro mini 11 in a normal mode or sport? because im new in this word of FPV, but i have the quality video of Go pro, thanks!
I feel like your GoPro footage was really choppy and under exposed with low dynamic range. Did you configure your stuff properly as I am getting much much better results
When I strapped my GoPro 10 to my DJI FPV, I immediately got that weird jello look that you mentioned, but I also could hear that my motors were fluctuating very badly. I landed immediately and checked the motor temps... they were very hot and I had only flown for about 30 seconds max. I just chalked it up as the drone struggling with the weight, but I suspect it's more of a mounting issue coupled with a natural frequency oscillation.
@@zpeos5713 I never was able to determine exactly the cause of the issue, so I just accepted the onboard video as the best I could do with the drone. I built a 5" freestyle drone that handles the GoPro 10 flawlessly.
Can I ask how this effects the gyro ? Will the emergency brake work ? As well as will I be able to switch to n/s mode whilst the GoPro is on in manual mode ?

Hello as alwyas Nice Review! I have a question maybe You could help me out. Thing is that with the naked i get a satelite drop to almost 0 and with the full size i don't have any problem. Any idea of this? Thanks have a Nice day
There’s a possibility that the gps and wifi on the GoPro will interfere with the GPS on the drone and that might prevent return to home or the ability to entire manual/acro mode at all.
Hey Matt, it might be a while, but how about using a gopro max 360? Any ideas how the 360 video will look like? I was stuck between the Air 2s and the fpv, but i like the air for the video quality, now i can use my 360 max on top of fpv, when i buy it.
Ive had a couple of dji fpvs, and i do get massive gps interference and also in 2 of them i drives the esc out of control faster than i could land and one of them overheated to the point that one motor had its wire joints desoldered and the motor flew straight out of the drone like butter... With the GoPro bones I've had the best results but still massively interferes with the GPS and I have found no solution over the years
I have been testing GPS interference running the DJI FPV with a GoPro Hero 9. The interference doesn't have anything to do with the mount but instead what seems to be RF signal interference from the gopro itself ONLY when it is recording video. I have only come up with a couple of solutions so far - 1) - wrapping the gopro in tinfoil helps a little - can at least maintain a homepoint or 2) extending the arm away from the aircraft on an extension with makes it look very top heavy. Both these solutions only help - they do not SOLVE the issue. I have tried this with several gopros and two different DJI FPVs. Same result. When I refer to interference, I mean that when the gopro is turned on, it takes it down from 22 satellites to 6 (or zero if I put the Session 5 on)
I think the warping comes from prop wash. The stock DJI props aren't very good for fpv and have a massive issue with introducing unnessecary prop wash.
