  • How did I survive the first week of a burning bum? It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Don’t get me wrong it’s very painful but I’ve been dealing with that pain for years. I did this surgery hoping to have an end to hemorrhoid pain. A few more weeks to go....

    Thanks for sharing. I’m on my 8th day of recovery. It is the most painful surgery I have ever had. Once I was hit by a car. This surgery hurt way worse than that. Day 4 I went to the ER because I had not pooped. When I did I screamed and cried for 30mins. This has not changed even on day 8. The only thing that helps is the pain meds and taking a hot bath. I bled the most today on 8th day. I don’t wish this pain on anyone. Hope you got better.

    day 25 here, going to the professor today to check up on me. for me every week had a day of horrible horrible pain, and then the rest of the days, every other day was good/bad. at the 3rd week i started having a bit of tough poop, or rather non-liquid poop, which was horrible to pass, since it felt like the sphincter was so tight i couldn't pass it without straining... i just long for the day i can start working out again, since its been more than 4 years since i last went to the gym... also, the fact that a literal war erupted 2 days after my operation where i live didn''t help much with the mental state during the whole healing process. anyways, much appreciation, from Israel!

    What really gets me is that doctors don't tell patients to take care of their haemorrhoids earlier at stage 2 or so. At that time rubber band is possible and much faster and less painful.

      @P0rtugueseRedM00n 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@fastfoodaddict4858 initially they told me the same, but then found out that doctors can do bandage even to external hemorrhoids or stage III even if its not advisable and painful. There are also other less invasive treatments available for grade 2 haemorrhoids. If we would be informed earlier about the consequences we would never allow it to advance to stage 3 or 4 where we can only heal it with a hemorrhoidectomy. Very slow and painful recovery

    Had my operation for a thrombosed hemorrhoid and Botox for my chronic fissure on the 18th March 2024. 4 days PO and I can tell you the pain is horrendous during bm. But he pain subsides after about an hour now but on the 2nd day it lasted 4hours with extreme burning. I take my pain meds (oxycodone) which seems to help some days. I spend day and night searching and studying patients which have gone through the same surgery as I have and I’m learning each day. 95% of the patients that have undergone this surgery state clearly that they are glad they’ve done the surgery. 80% say within the first 2 weeks they felt better with pain management after BM. Around 20% say it took them 4-6 weeks feeling better after bowl movements. I can personally say that the pain after surgery is much intense and goes much faster after BM than prior to surgery. I had pain for 9-12hrs after every BM and every single day for 8 months straight. That’s no way to live. I know this pain feels like it will never end but I’m optimistic and wish and hope for anyone that has done this surgery to be also. Keep strong and know it’s only weeks before the pain becomes a distant memory. ❤❤❤

    6 weeks is my current status. I really need to watch my diet, as my poop diameter has now changed to about 1.5 inches in diameter. Prior I was blasting twice the diameter easily. Pain is pretty much gone but three weeks after surgery I was still in immense pain. Had I owned a gun, I would have blown myself away. Glad it was done, though. Good luck to all who will have this done. Just remember that the pain will be over. My medication was Percocets and Advil. Tylenol, at extra strength was useless. Also the sitz bath was a savior!

    This is a terrible and frustrating problem to have. At some times I'm worried it might be a sign of something else serious. But what's helped me is being low carb and avoiding packaged foods. I can feel the blood fill whenever I eat high carb or bad foods. Fiber causes my IBS flare ups so I eat low to moderate amounts. PROBIOTICS have changed my life. I take pro50 and I'm much more regular, no straining. First couple brands I tired made it worse and caused constipation but pro50 worked for me and I've bough more than 5bottles. I will try using it to fermenting food or drinks because it is expensive 30/month

      john mark the softer you can make your poop the better. Stool softener every few hours you will need something stronger if you are taking pain meds because they cause constipation. Don’t strain just sit there relaxed till your body does what it needs to. Straining and pushing hurts and will cause more hemorrhoids. Recticare cream helps numb it before you go as well and makes it easier to wipe. Day 4 you are halfway through the worst part. Ibuprofen helped me with the pain and inflammation too. Hope you feel better soon.

    I’m 3 days post surgery. My doc won’t prescribe narcotics because can cause constipation so I’m taking ibuprofen and Tylenol (actually takin excedrine migraine instead of straight Tylenol since I suffer with migraines) alternating every 3 hours and it helps to stay ahead of the pain. Day 2 my shot was wearing off and I missed my meds overnight while sleeping and man was I ready to give up the ghost! The pain was unbelievable. Better now. Mostly soreness and full belly with all the fiber and miralax and softeners. Also using Recticare which has lidocaine in it. Eating mostly soft foods trying to keep things soft. Warm bath soaks are the best and the site works as well. Still swollen and sensitive of course. I hope the pain stays no higher than it is now. Thank u for posting this video.

    I had an emergency hemorrhoidectomy last Tuesday. Still painful but I'm taking post op medication provided by my doctor. I also do sitz bath. It is kinda frustrating right now because I had to rely on others to do chores for me (I'm not used to that) because I need to be gentle of my every movement since the stitches still fresh. I am hoping and praying that my body will get better so I can go back to work and do the usual stuff.

      Everyone is different but putting gauze there really helped keep it dry and pain down. Ibuprofen really helped too. Try taking stool softener to keep it soft. You are right not to strain as it will cause more pain and hemorrhoids. Hang in there each day will get better.

      Sunny Dayz it is such a big decision that you need to make for you. Don’t do it if you don’t feel comfortable. The Doctors warned me of how painful it was and several talked me out of it. I suffered so much with flair ups over the years. After my first pregnancy 22 years ago is when it started. I’m now 9 months out and am so glad that I went through it. I haven’t had to call into work because of a flair up since I had it. Prior it felt like I was calling in at least once a month sometimes for 2 or more days. I really don’t remember the pain unless I listen to a video and wonder if I was being dramatic in the pain.

      Shaf 18 I’m so sorry you are in such pain. How long do you need to keep the gauze in? Once it’s out you may feel better. Do you have ointment to put on? Are you taking sitz baths? Ibuprofen helped with the inflammation and burning for me. Don’t push when you poop. Take laxatives or stool softener to keep it soft so you don’t strain. I started a new job at 2 weeks but if you are still healing reach out to your dr and ask for more time. Some people get a muscle relaxer to help with pain as well. Join the Facebook group hemorrhoidectomy aftermath. You can talk to others that are going through it now. The pain is temporary and for me it was worth it in the end. Hope you heal quickly.

      I’m so sorry you are in pain. It will get better it just takes time. The better you eat the better you will feel, at least it helped me (High carbs and sugars can cause inflammation so I make sure to have ibuprofen on hand to help if I eat the good stuff) The sitz baths with warm water helps, putting numbing cream on after each bathroom visit also helped with burning for a bit. The ibuprofen seemed to help more than the pain medication and it didn’t cause constipation. Hope you heal quickly and start feeling better.

Ibuprofen took the swelling and pain away but I took it around the clock. You can also alternate between Tylenol. Warm baths a tea can also relax and try not to strain when going. I would talk to your Dr about what he recommends. If he didn’t feel they were needed then he wouldn’t have prescribed them. Everyone heals differently I would suggest if you take pain meds take colace or stool softener as often as possible to safe yourself pain.

      Wayne Ash they did give me pain meds fir a few days. They also gave me a pain blocker in the anus that helped for a few days. I tried to avoid the pain medication for two reasons #1 is that they cause constipation and I didn’t want to have a hard poop causing more pain. #2 which was really my main reason is that I’ve had bad reactions to opioids after having my gallbladder removed 2 years ago. I get sever chest pain running, very painful to breath and sharp pains from ribs to my shoulders. The first 2-3 times I thought I was having a heart attack the pain was a 10 on 1-10 scale lasting 15-30 minutes before going away right before leaving for the hospital or calling an ambulance. I was diagnosed with sphincter of Oddi (SOD) after around the 5th attack. I was in the ER for kidney stones ( I’ve had these for 25 years and have had a variety of opioids through with no issues) and an hour after they gave me morphine I had an attack. They did a EKG and ruled our heart issues. I was doing journaling for food triggers and found opioids to be my triggers so I try not to take them out of fear
