- This is the 20,000 mile review/update on my 2021 Tesla Model S Long Range. I cover everything I have done to the car since delivery and issues I have had around wearing of components. This will be very helpful if you are looking to buy a Tesla Model S and I hope you enjoy it.

Dude sounds like Chris from Family Guy
Sir, this is a car review
The storage container where the drink holder is with the sliding door getting rough and water damage to is doing the same on my 2019 with cream interior and bamboo trim. I discovered its anytime you put warm humid items like a bag of hot food from a drive-thru on top of it. I think I'll get mine replaced soon just so I can make it look new again.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Ty, very informative video. I will be ordering one soon, can't decide between red or blue, with a cream interior. I thought they pushed a software update for blue tooth speakers in the back, recently, but I may be wrong.
One question I have: can you please comment on the use of the auto pilot buttons and cruise/speed control ?, I am worried it may be complicated, as I'm used to my MYLR stalks with the FSD. Ty
I got the round steering wheel, ultra red and black interior with carbon fiber yrim. My only issue is the stockless turn signals. My 2014 model S interior with 95,000 miles still looks great.
I just got a 2022 model S long range preowned with only 18k. It’s the silver grey metallic color with black interior I love it and I love that I paid 1/2 price of brand new.
Another great video! It definitely helps to know what areas to watch for in the future. I got used to the yoke really quickly... but honestly I will probably swap it out for the regular wheel at some point. It's fine for 90% of driving, but tight spaces and windy roads... it just sucks.
I totally agree, great comments. Thanks for sending a message, I really appreciate you watching the video.
Great review. Very helpful. Thank you!
My pleasure!
In addition to wishing the horn were easier to access, I wish Tesla would put the fan controls on the dock. There’s plenty of room for up/down arrows.
Great suggestion, I hadn’t even thought of that. But that would be very helpful.
With the horn, all you do is take the whole palm of your hand and place it over the whole right side yoke stalk, covering all of the buttons with your palm.
You can send your destination to your Tesla from Google maps. Also you can simply place your hand over the whole right side of the steering wheel and the horn will rapidly beep beep rather than trying to hit just the tiny horn button.
I currently drive a 75D 2018 and I really want this new Model S!!!!! Looks great and nice step up on many things!!
Oh yeah, I think you will love it!
I have a ‘22 M3P blue with the white vegan leather and my pants do leave a little bit of blue on the driver seat. It’s not too hard to clean it off though. I love the white.
Car is still looking brand new! Any chance you can measure the depth and width of the trunk? Need to be able to fit a wagon stroller and luggage.
i have a 2017 s75d and love it
Picking up an ultra red, cream interior S long range tomorrow. It's an interesting combo, coming from a grey/white interior model 3.
Oh that’s great, I like that ultra red color
A person of fine taste...assuming you got the walnut...
Great summary again. Mine is a 2022 with red exterior and black interior and I love it too. I live in Utah so have 4 seasons to deal with so we bought the floor and trunk mats too and they fit like a glove. I'm more of a fan of the yoke than you, I wouldn't want to go back but agree with you about the buttons, I have to look down every time I use one to make sure I found it. It's a nuisance finding the horn and glad I don't need it much. I miss stocks but they're not coming back, even the new Model 3 has a steering wheel w/o stocks. If I could change one thing, I'd want 360 cameras. It's a big car and very low profile so parking is not easy unless I'm backing up to park. You've helped me a lot in getting acquainted with the car in your videos and appreciate the time and effort you put into them.
No problem at all, I appreciate it! Yeah, I do like the yolk a lot, just have a slight preference on the circle steering wheel. Especially if I try to zip around the corners going 35 or 40 miles an hour. Other than that the yoke is fine. I think of 360 camera would also be very helpful. Agree with you on how low the car is. I bumped into a couple things here and there.
And with the horn, all you do is take the whole palm of your hand and place it over the whole right side yoke stalk, covering all of the buttons with your palm.
Great video! And great thumbnail!
Thanks I really appreciate it. It’s so hard to get a good thumbnail nowadays.
Thanks for the video. Are you thinking about a Porsche Taycan, Lucid Air, or Rivian R1T/S for your next EV? I would be interested in viewing your car shopping experience. I have a 2022 MSLR, had a round wheel retrofit installed and am happy with the car, but I’m looking around.
I haven’t decided yet. There’s so many new cars coming. Also, wondering with the new facelift for the model three or model Y is gonna look like. I do like the Porsche taycan, but just worry about the range it gets on its batteries.
Hey there, great video! I’m probably going to order a MSLR in about two months, just wondering what is the actual range you are getting with the car? Thank you!
Did you order it yet?
Good call on the lease!!
I was shocked when you said over $100k
Just drove a new model SLR $75k.
We have owned 2 Model Ys which we love but after spending some time with a friend's 2022 LR S we are convinced the LR Model S will be our next Tesla.
Great video thx. Got a 2023 Model S LR a month ago and got the round wheel. I tried the yoke and it was a clunky joke with no real advantage over round wheel.
Yeah, I understand. How do you like the car?
@@pucaslife LOVE the car. Had a 2022 MYP but this is a whole other level.
The 2023s now come standard with a round wheel. $700 to change to a round wheel if you already have a yoke wheel. And with the horn, all you do is take the whole palm of your hand and place it over the whole right side yoke stalk, covering all of the buttons with your palm. You should do a video on how to palm the stalk for the horn.
Yes, I heard about that. I heard you can do a horn by covering the entire area. You’re right that might be a good video. I will look into that.
I think when I buy my Model S I will pay extra for the yoke. I tried it in a test drive and liked it. If I ever change my mind I can switch to round later.
it doesn’t make sense. Round is free. Yolk, is $1000. If you get the $1,000 yolk, and don’t like it, then you’re paying hundreds for the round wheel. What’s it cost? $750
@@g.dubyou6263 I think I would stay with the yoke.
Do you ever leave your phone on the wireless charger after exiting the car? My wife does this all the time which means someone can drive off with the car and her phone. Tesla should have a software update with an audible beep warning you to take your phone with you when you put the car in park with the phone still on the wireless charger.
I have an '15 Model S and the seats are incredibly uncomfortable. Can you comment on the seat comfort, heating, ventilation, etc.? Thanks for the thorough review, it is very helpful.
I have a 2023 Model S with FSD and the seats are super comfy, I've never driven the older version models s, so I can compare the two, but to I myself and many others, the seats are super good
They'll be way better than what you have now. I'm in a 2018 Model S and the seats are amazing The newer ones the seats are even better
I thought I was not going to like the yoke, but then I did a test drive and immediately thought "this isn't bad". During my 2nd test drive of the Model S I had the round steering wheel. Near the end of my drive with round wheel I wanted to see the speedometer but I could not see it. I'm used to Model 3, but speed was not shown on the upper left corner of main screen. Then I realized I could not see the speed because the top of the round steering wheel was blocking my sight of it. If I had raised up the steering wheel a bunch it would have been fine.
Yeah, it’s super cool!
Need them to put in a regular horn in the middle of wheel before I even consider purchasing one, would love an actual click on the capacitive buttons 🤷🏻♂️
Totally agree, probably my biggest pet peeve with the car, is that it doesn’t have a horn in the correct spot.
How would you rate the sound system?
Can you do a video for that?
I think the sound system is actually pretty darn good. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but I don’t have any real serious complaints about it. I guess it really depends on the kind of music that you’d like to listen to.
I would say 8 out of 10 for a factory sound system. There are better systems like Audi's Bang Olufson and other high end stereo systems, but the standard system you get in a Model S is really good.
The issue with the headphones isn’t fixed yet or? Why is this so complicated to connect Bluetooth headphones only to the rear infotainment? Please Tesla fix it. With the current new update this was fixed only for the new model 3.
So that potentially, the kids could be watching porn in the back seat without their parents knowing?
I think they made some updates now. It should be way better
👍
Yes!
Did you buy your car new or used?
Ordered brand new. Can I ask why you are wondering?
@@pucaslife I'm in the market and trying to save some $$$.
So..fake leather?
Literally said vegan leather -_-
Great video but I could make out Your name and adress (prolly business), probably better to conceal that info.
My absolute favorite thing about vegan leather is that it’s vinyl… a product made in the oil and gas industry which means it is made from the remains of dinosaurs… can it still be considered vegan then 😂
The designer who chose to use light wood with the white interior and black wood with the black interior should be fired.
Why do you say that? Is that just your own opinion on color choice? That seems a little extreme?
@@pucaslife It's not just my opinion; many people are wrapping the wood as soon as they get the car. If you live in sunny areas like Arizona or Nevada, the wood will dry out and start cracking after just one year, making your car look 10 years old. Even if you live in cold areas where the wood will not dry out, the light wood will only look good with the cream interior, while the white interior needs the black wood or carbon fiber.
Nah, yoke is ugly uncomfortable and unpractical, nope no way !!
Yeah, my next one with have the regular steering wheel
I know you didnt say you prefer apple maps ... and their car play... over this.... apple maps is trash. Google is better. Stuck in apple eco system bad
