I dont think you understand what classifies as a doco. fishing shows are shows that are sponsored by fishing rod companies telling you where to fish and where to catch where, and what rods to use. This show is more concerned about the fish than actual fishing. Its a documentary about fish or are you still confused?

There's a non-zero chance that the plane crashed itself because it figured out it was carrying Jeremy Wade and knew it couldn't sustain flight with the weight of his gigantic balls.
Too bad they barely show this on Animal Planet anymore, it was the only actual show they had left that wasn't some dumb reality show.

this show is the most over dramatic over produced fishing show ever.... even catching a simple Queenfish comes with dramatic suspenseful music and he talks about cane toads like it's the end of the world.. its no wonder it didnt last

I catch Barramundi every other week. The cane toads have been here for decades. They have totally adapted to life with them.

Cane toads were brought to Australia to control cane beetles. That’s how they came.

I just love the whole mystery and the creepiness of these deep dark mysterious waters. Whether it is some little known stagnant lake on some remote island or a ginormous gushing river , whatever it is ,water is just so so creepy and mysterious when you don't know what is under it. And then you fish and pull out all these surprises. Wow!!! I LOVE the whole element of it.

last month i borrowed a random fisherman's fishing rig (a primitive line and a hook without a rod) in the Indian Ocean of Kenya. I threw the line and i got an instant luck of catching a fish.. all my memories came back to you ...i was just telling myself am now like Jeremy! ..it felt so satisfying and cool
..then i also solved the big question in my head of why you always wash your hands after releasing a fish

Coming from Australia/Queensland I can tell you that barramundi isn’t rare. Hard fish to catch in general but certainly not classified as rare

I remember watching documentaries from Malcom Douglas as a kid. My favorite part was always when he went to catch baramundis. His exictement was contagious.

That was a beautiful fish! Definitely bigger than the 2 bass and 4 walleye I caught this morning. I’m so jealous that Jeremy Wade gets to fish all over the world. Lol
Barramundi get up to about 5-6 feet long. Their close cousin the Nile Perch looks very much like them but has been reported to reach 10 feet in length, but specimens that size are very rare now as they're heavily fished for food in the areas of Africa they inhabit.

The fact that Jeremy can just tell that the fish is running towards him with the bait shows how much of a Seasoned fisherman he is. For those who don’t know, it is a very hard to sense when a fish is running towards you with the bait while you haven’t set the hook yet.
Especially in water like that.

Just so you know, that "crocodile slide mark" was caused by the Barra being dragged onto the bank. Just match the pause screen at 5:54 and 7:04. Different angle, exact same placement of the leaves.

The guy i work with was a famous noodler and was on t.v shows like "okie noodling" and "mudcats". He did lots of shows for animal planet and national geographic. His name is Lee Mcfarlin. He said that he took jeremy noodling one time and hes definately an angler cuz he couldnt even pull a small catfish put of the water. You can find the video on youtube i believe. Noddling takes a lot of practice though, but props to jeremy for trying. He is always down for a challenge when it comes to catching fish! Love this guy

In Asia it's known as an Asian sea bass but in Australia they are barramundi they can live in either salt or fresh water and can grow to 180cm but not often usually catch big ones in the 100cm to 130cm range
They go harder then any bass I can tell U that!
They're actually a type of perch. That and they could eat the biggest LMB you ever heard of.

Jeremy almost never sets the hook. He just reels. It’s the most obvious thing. He misses more than half of his strikes for that exact reason.
If he just reels that means he's using a circle hook which is what you're supposed to do and is a popular hook with live bait.
