  • Another week another super cool classic American car in the shop, this time we have a new customer's 1962 Chrysler 300 that's unfortunately suffering from a badly leaking 727 Transmission. Well, no problem, we can help with that!
It's never a dull week around the shop here and we truly are lucky to be able to work on such a wide range of cool cars. This one is certainly not of the "muscle car" era but it's cool in it's own right! Step 1, get this transmission pulled! Step 2, time to talk to the customer and order parts!

Back when car companies built unique cars exclusive to their make and model. Not the cookie cutter cars that we have today. Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah this is VERY much a different Era in car production, not necessarily in all the running gear pieces but in the style and shape for sure. Changing grills, bumpers, lights, trim interior every year or so... attention to style was HUGE.

on this beastie ...they just don't work.
Needs a set of wires, the stock hubcap rims or maybe even a set of 18 or 20's on low profile tires. She needs some class.
Betting they still have the OG wheels for it, just had to slap those on to get it to Lucore for some love.

Really cool Chrysler 300, that 300 has a 413 in it by the way. They’re cool cars, I’m a big c body guy. You don’t see the 62 Chrysler’s very often anymore, that thing needs some tlc but definitely worth saving.

I have made the same comment to people I know about the front bumper on my 1950 Chevy 1/2 shortbox. It is almost a two man job to get it back on and almost a 1/4 inch thick. Back when flaking chrome would send you to the hospital for stitches 🤣

The undercarriage looked like that engine had a bad head gasket and it went untouched for about 20 years, probably at least 50 pounds of semi solid 10-30 stuck to that sucker!
Body and frame looked nearly rust free though, guess it pays to let em leak sometimes?
Great old 300 otherwise, hope the owner puts some love and $$ into it to keep it going. Not sure I have ever seen one that year with as clean a body.
