Strip Rattle & Roll - Underwater Footage! - Rattling Streamer - McFly Angler Fly Tying

- If you have ever fished for bass, you know that in most instances, a rattle helps attract them. They are also attracted big baits. Things that push lots of water. I created this fly to still be rather light, but have a big profile under the water. This in my opinion is the perfect fly for bass when they are targeting baitfish, and also a great fly for other species like like pike or even big trout. With a saltwater hook, you could tie this for many saltwater species as well.
The flexible UV resin really makes a nice head on the fly, but its not hard and stiff, but it will flex a bit, which makes it more durable. It will give it a unique action as well, and help push water around the craft fur to make it move quite a bit more. The side to side motion will really drive those bass nuts.

Excellent pattern! I think it'd do well for land-locked Striped Bass too if tied in Shad colors. I'm going to ties some and give them a go. Thanks for putting this video out there!

Great looking pattern. Have a lake close by that has a lot of hybrid strippers that feed on alewife forage base. This looks perfect for that !

Hey welcome to the world of tying. So I believe you can totally tie this fly and do a great job! However this is not what I would call a beginners fly. Good luck, and I’m sure you can do it. Just wanted to warn you that, so you don’t get frustrated and quit tying. One Streamer I always recommend for people to start with is a wooly bugger. While there are some advanced techniques that can be used with it, it also is hard to mess them up as well and they will catch fish almost any way you tie them. Anyway, good luck and tell me how you do.

Thank you, that is nice of you. And sorry to say it but no... I am not good at poppers. I usually buy them because they are a pain in the butt to tie. Whether its a foam popper or a deer hair, I suck at both. HAHA

Rattle tubes float how's it supposed to keel the fly if you tie the rattle chamber underneath.. seems like a rubbish tie no point tying fibres that don't get eats.
