Because you can teach and give more information on that platform. I have always had crazy respect for you top pros that teach the game. Because it is almost equivalent to Tom Brady teaching Aaron Donald....why make your opponent better? But we appreciate what you do....nothing but positive karma to you and your family!

    21:05 To calculate how much you’ve won when there’s a bounty like this, it’s simple:
    Your bounty started at $200, and now your bounty is at $825
    That means $625 has been added to your bounty (via some number of knockouts, which you don’t need to keep track of)
    Every time money is added to your bounty, you also get paid that exact same amount. That means you also must have been paid $625 so far (regardless of how it happened)

    Thx. Daniel for helping the poker community & for being excellent role model for younger players.
    Question - after playing more than 3500 live sessions (mainly limit) more & more I’m convinced that momentum is extreamly important & greatly underrated in most books & courses. blockers & math has to be respected but some days momentum completely eliminates the math.
    Please share your thoughts

    • @genesises
      @genesises 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      momentum = luck. of course you'll win when you get lucky, and it's nice when it happens - but trying to make it happen will get expensive fast.

    • @kevinkolozsy7867
      @kevinkolozsy7867 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@genesises I agree forcing momentum is a bad idea, also is counterintuitive considering what momentum is. That being said, when you have momentum it would also not make sense to "forcefully" stop it, so go with the momentum when you have it. Luck will always be involved but riding the wave of momentum is just smart

    • @genesises
      @genesises 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevinkolozsy7867 yeah for sure! i've noticed i actually do exactly that sometimes, i'll notice i'm on a roll and that in turn makes me play more defensive in the fear of the opponent getting his lucky draw. best thing to do is take a breather and refocus, realize that this spot is always good for you so theres nothing to fear hehe

    • @kevinkolozsy7867
      @kevinkolozsy7867 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@genesises Yeah I definitely relate to that! I think it is good to not punt your chips off immediately after a rush of good cards or draws though, despite potentially being able to ramp up a little more. The main thing I watch out for is how I am being perceived by other players and the table image flow, I play off of reads and position much more than just the cards, at least in tournament play but cash games I feel a bit more about just getting value from your good hands. Anyways it was good messaging you, good luck in your games bro💯

    • @chuckjay
      @chuckjay 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Momentum is huge… especially when it comes to how other players bet against you.
      If you win 2-3 hands in a row, it cools down the rest of the table BIG TIME & you can start to dominate.
      This is where you have to steal as many bigs as you can, and obviously don’t go all-in when someone hits AK… but yeah, momentum + system = gold.

    3:20 there are 1,326 possible 2 card hands, but close enough 🙂
    (52 choose 2 = 52*51 / 2 = 1,326)
    Edit: An easy way to remember “1326” is that it’s just the number of cards in a suit (13) followed by double that number
    (It works out this way specifically because 51 is very close to 50, which is half of 100. This combined with the division by 2 basically gives you 1/4th of 52 times 100, aka 13 as the first 2 digits. Then you just have to add the additional 1*52/2, which is 26
    Or more succinctly:
    52*51 / 2 = 52*50/2 + 52*1/2 = 52*100/4 + 26 = 1,300 + 26 = 1,326)

    • @Muhahahahaz
      @Muhahahahaz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another interesting one is the calculation for the odds of being dealt a pocket pair, which is exactly 1 in 17
      (This comes from the fact that 51, which is one less than the deck, shows up in the calculation, and 17 is 1/3rd of 51)
      So how many pocket pairs are there? Well as you know, any individual pocket pair has 4 choose 2 = 6 combos. Multiply this by 13 to get the total, which is 6*13 = 78
      To get the odds, divide this by the total number of hands (i.e. 1,326, as we saw above)
      This gives 78/1326, which doesn’t look so pretty. But both these numbers have a factor of 13 in common (i.e., 78 = 6*13 and 1326 = 102*13)
      So we can also just write 6/102
      Both are even, so this is just 3/51
      And 51 is divisible by 3, so this is just 1/17
      (However, a much easier way to see this, is to realize that the first card you are dealt doesn’t matter. In order for you to be dealt a pocket pair, the 2nd card must match the first
      For example, if I’m dealt a 7, how likely is it to get another 7?
      Well, there are 51 cards remaining, and exactly 3 of them are 7s
      So the chances are exactly 3 in 51, or in other words 1 in 17, which is about 5.9%)

    • @Muhahahahaz
      @Muhahahahaz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The calculation in my 2nd comment above is a bit cumbersome, but skip to the end for a much faster and more intuitive way to come to the same result

    • @Muhahahahaz
      @Muhahahahaz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And of course, to finish categorizing the possible opening hands:
      Out of the remaining 16/17 hands that are not pocket pairs, exactly 1/4th are suited and the other 3/4ths are unsuited. (Very similar argument to the “intuitive” version of the pocket pair calculation above - the suit of the first card doesn’t matter, and since we are specifically talking about non-pairs, there are exactly 4 of every non-matching card left. Which is to say, the chances of being dealt a matching suit are exactly 1 in 4)
      This means Suited = 16/17 * 1/4 = 4/17 (which is about 23.5%)
      And Unsuited = 16/17 * 3/4 = 12/17 (which is about 70.6%)
      Ultimately, this comes directly from the 4 “suited combos” and the 12 “unsuited combos” that every non-pair of cards has (when thinking about hand ranges, for instance)
      Of course, it’s probably far easier to just think of these as “approximately” 25% and 75%. (And if you know the opponent doesn’t have a pocket pair, then these numbers are exact)
