16:30. I understand that completely. I would absolutely never be in a relationship with someone who doesn't like dogs. So it seems unreasonable not to understand that people could have the opposite perspective.
As someone who loves dogs (and has 2 of them chilling and cuddling with me rn), I totally get where there are people who don't like dogs/don't want to have a dog in their home/are afraid of dogs. Totally get that and I work very hard to make sure that, if someone is at my house, they are comfortable and the dogs aren't bothering them. I also work very hard to train my dogs to make sure that they're well behaved around other people (not jumping all over people, not trying to get all over people if they don't want to interact, not barking constantly, etc). So, while I love dogs, I always make sure they behave well around others who might not be as fond of dogs as I am. But I draw the line at people who expect their SO to get rid of their dog or they'll leave. For one, I view pet ownership as a lifelong commitment (not so much YOUR lifetime as THEIR lifetime). They're something that their owner has taken care of/raised/bonded with. How selfish can one person be to act like THEY are more important than a creature you've practically raised??? How full of themselves can a person get? One of my dogs has been with me for 6 years. I got her as a puppy when I lived in another country. She's been with me through my time abroad, my moving back to my home country, Covid lockdowns, two different jobs, 3 different moves, losing family, losing friends, getting my Master's Degree and getting a second dog. She's my family as much as anything. If I had an SO try to give ME a "Me or the dog" ultimatum, that'd be the easiest choice in the world and I guess my search for a more compatible partner would begin because I guess I'd be single, then. Also, I can't help but look at the people who irrationally hate dogs like those redditors (not being afraid of them or just are not super big dog people) and think that they're probably going to be (or are) crappy parents. So many of these redditors say that they hate dogs because they smell, they make messes, they require care... guess what, so do kids. And kids actually require even MORE care than a dog. Idk how to say it in a super well thought-out way other than: don't trust people who hate kids and love dogs, and don't trust people who just irrationally hate dogs to the point where their entire day is ruined if they so much as see one.
Not at all I don’t like cats because I’m allergic I have a genuine reason not to like them but I’ve never made a stink about it and I was certainly never disgusted by them to the point of being genuinely offended in their presence these people need to grow up
The anti-child subreddit is unhinged as well; it’s one thing to not want kids, or even like them, but these people seriously need their hard drives searched.

I have a big dog. Like a BIG dog. His breed (American Bully XL) is literally banned in several countries; recently my own. About a year ago, a smaller dog attacked him and he fucked that dog up. Nothing happened to him because the dog lived, and also attacked him first, but the owner of the smaller dog tried to get Pilot (my dog) put down. Her dog was off leash and very aggressive so she didn't manage to get anything, but it's scary that it's happened to other people.

15:27 It feels like she has a point though if her old house is covered with pee rings and everything's scratched up it sounds like the boyfriend didn't train his dog and just doesn't care?? Am I crazy cuz I think she's in the right?!?!
No she doesn't. She specifically said the GRASS outside was "covered" in pee rings. Meaning the dog is housebroken, they pee outside like they should, but oh lordy that's too much for THAT OP because now they can't walk barefoot in the grass without thinking of the dog peeing... where it's supposed to. Also, that same grass has allergens, pesticides, dead/decayed critters in the soil, and another animal may ALSO have gone to the bathroom in it... so walking through the grass barefoot is already a bad idea, but really they're just looking for something to complain about. Regarding the floors getting scratched up: Unless you aren't trimming your dog's claws AND walking them regularly, it'd pretty unlikely that the dog's claws are leaving huge gouges in the floor (which I highly doubt the dog is not cared for, since the OP mentioned the dog getting a bath once a week... which is actually kind of excessive, but given how many other things that OP has to b!tch about with that dogs existence, I get the feeling excessive baths were their "compromise"). Dogs don't have retractable claws like cats do, but their claws are also a bit more dull in comparison. The OP specifically mentioned the floors being scratched up, but given that someone else was perfectly fine buying OPs place at the price point they wanted, I get the feeling that those "scratches" on the floor are no worse than the standard wear and tear that's expected for a place that's been lived in by a previous tenant. You're not crazy, but that OP IS crazy if they think their significant other is going to just bow down and go along with their ultimatum... I'm kinda hoping for an update where the OP basically is just like "I can't believe he chose the dog over ME!?!"
Is it just me or do the alpha male insult scenarios not seem that unrealistic and insane, like idk why Charlie thinks a mean person making fun of someone for being fat is like straight out of a looney tunes episode , same thing with the making fun of how someone dresses
