A race that few got into, possibly the gloss taken off by Fastorslow unseating but too far out to say that he would have played a role. At the end of the day, a fitting tribute to Willie Mullins as the warm favorite went in.
Galopin des Champs - what an incredible horse - and on top, for me, one of the greatest jump jockeys of recent years, Paul Townend. Well, the winning total was £351,688.00 and of this, Paul was paid £38, 719.00. Not bad for eight minutes work!!!
Seeing as itv have just announced good viewing figures again, surely it's now time to enter negotiations with racing TV to show every race from the festival, rather than every race from the mundane royal Ascot.

Cheltenham, Owners charged £20 to park and then £30 to be towed out. Racegoers being charged to be towed out! No other racecourse i know charges Racegoers to be towed out. £10 for second rate burgers and overpriced drinks. Cheltenham sort yourself out a disgrace you a treating your customers with utter contempt.
Used to go back in the eighties, the year john jo O'Neil won on silver Buck , it was much better then less people and more affordable. It was a three day meeting then. Now its just a rip off.
Five Winds 16:40 Southwell 16th March. That's £150 I'll never get back. The jockey never rode this horse to win at all at any time in the race. Should be banned for a year.

It was boring. We did not have a hotly anticipated Irish vs English (fav vs 2nd fav type) clash in a single big race. The english need to get hands on better horses.
Nassalam had a better run in him than that. Not sure what the issue was, never looked like he found his rhythm. Watch the welsh national 2023 that he won. Wow .

Festival seems to be dying. Too many races. Too few trainers. Too many easy winners. That Gold Cup wasnt a race. It was a procession.
Agree with you , extending it to four days has taken the magic away from the festival.

Bookies made sure they cashed in. You can see the corruption in horse racing it’s very similar to boxing.
