    Cue Card falling that day when he was about to take it up is without doubt the most heartbreaking feeling I’ve ever experienced watching racing loved that horse

    had 250 quid on cue card that day was there to watch, we all thought the same thing he was gonna come n win it til that fall, not sure of that but it would have been a right battle indeed.. soon as he fell the noise was unreal thousands of people shouting cheering then in sudden silence! Theres no atmosphere like Cheltenham will always remember that day well!

    Recall Cue card having Don off bridle at Aintree, Don won by half the track, to suggest cue card would have won is delusional.

      You don't know anything if you think cue card was anywhere near being himself in that race. He was racing with a trapped epiglottis Which stopped him breathing. He beat don Cossack at kempton which was a track he didn't like and he was set to win at Cheltenham too but for the fall. He was by far going the best.

    • @gbxgolf3523
      @gbxgolf3523 ปีที่แล้ว

      Full of excuses. Timeform ratings has Don in a different league. Don was going to win King George on an unsuitable track also.

      @@gbxgolf3523 don't talk even more crap. It's not an excuse when it's a fact which is exactly what it is. If you had a brain you would know that anyway and you wouldn't be the embarrassment you are. 😱

    Funny how some people don't pay a lot of attention to details of a horse's performance during races. Take Cue Card for instance. Watch his jumping from 7 fences out in this Gold Cup. At one fence he gets too close and checks up slightly after landing. At the very next fence he takes off marginally too far and clearly struggles to clear it. At this point in the race the contenders are pedal to the metal so mistakes are going to be costly - duh. Cue Card then repeated the same action at the fence he fell at - the replay of his fall (not sure if it is still available) shows he took off even further away and had zero chance of surviving. He made a jumping mistake at the 2nd last in the 2015 Punchestown Gold Cup (won by Don Cossack) which ended his chances of winning.

    Don cossack could have achieved more had that injury not happened so many Gold cup winners never seem to be the same after winning it Kicking King War of Attrition etc

      So who cares that cue card fell, he wasn't even the favourite, so there must have been more people on the Don, ,

    People saying Cue Card wouldn't have won....can't say I agree. There was nothing in it between him and Don coming down the straight and if he hadn't fell, I have a feeling he would have clinched it. Still, it's irrelevant now. However, it's clear that Cue Card on his day was a better horse than Don Cossack.

      Watch Don Cossack’s victory over Cue Card in the Melling Chase in Aintree in 2015. They both jumped the 3rd last together, Cue Card made a mistake. Don Cossack went well clear of him and won by 26 lengths. Who’s to say Don Cossack wouldn’t have went well clear of Cue Card in the Gold Cup as well considering he won fairly comfortably in the end.
