I got a 02' ZR2 Blazer. The level gauge thingy on the pump has been screwed up on mine for years. When I fill it up it shows empty until I hit a bump, then it jumps to full, then a 1/2 a tank & back & forth. lol It's a $700 job at a mechanic shop to drop my very easy tank in the rear. Which I can do myself when the time comes. We just did this on my uncles 2001 Chevy Step-Side, 4.3
The black plug is just a sensor for the pressure in the tank?? Everyone I’ve seen has had it, I guess they could have made some year models without it.
The pump should only run for a few seconds when the key is first turned on, check your fuses and ignition switch then I would heads towards the pcm. Also make sure there is not a fuel cut off inertia switch like the fords have I’m not sure if this vehicle has one or not? Maybe this helps🤔
So I did some research, even though the fuel pump comes in, doesn't mean it's good, it could be bad, what happens is the go weak, loose fuel pressure. I would recommend only using a name brand pump, like doorman,Delphi, ac Delco, masterpiece, but I wouldn't recommend buying the cheap pumps in amazon for around 40 to 50 dollars.

What’s with black plug on top of unit there’s some with just the white 4 prog plug

@@ChristmanGarage i see what it is now some units don’t come with the black box and you can remove it from your old unit and snap it in your new one
I have to bypass relay for pump to run. Tried multiple relays wirh no luck. What would cause this? PCM?

@ChristmanGarage thanks bro. Worst case I can add an add a relay kit and put it on a hot wire when key is on.
