I have one question though. Most of the cutaway jokes were from the first episode season 1, but which season and episode was the cutaway joke where Peter said he's not going back to work and then smokes and says it's an Al Harrington cutaway? That wasn't the first season, and it was after Stewie said that they now look at their phones during cutaways. Was it season 10?

Actually, meg and chris aged by about 2 years, meg was 15 when it started (or less) and there was a more recent episode on megs 17th birthday, and chris was apparantly 13 at the start

The time travel episodes were among the best they ever did.
I agree this was absolutely brilliant. I remember watching this and my old house 1998. It was funny here we are 26 years later and it’s funny than ever. I like the Simpsons, which started in 89 and went to 2002 and they were brilliant, not family guy brilliant but very funny And now the last 16 years of The Simpsons are just unbearable. Give credit family guy 26 years of pure perfection.
This isn't actually the pilot it's just a reanimated version of the original pilot the original one had different colors and different versions of some lines and different scenes and voice actors

Honestly… with how the animators could replicate this type of older art is absolutely amazing to me. VA’s is great but the animation must’ve costed a bit extra
Im pretty sure they used the original VA recordings and just re-drawed the scenes. Ive watched Season 1 so many times if they did re-record the lines its pretty much spot on.
I'm almost certain this is just the original animation only enhanced. Otherwise, why keep all the exact same angles? Re-drawing it makes no sense.

The joke is that Meg was voiced by Lacey Chabert, aka Gretchen Winers from Mean Girls, in the 1999 episodes (Season 1 and the first couple episodes of Season 2) before she left to focus on other projects and her schoolwork. Thus, Mila Kunis took over and has had the part ever since.
They honestly deserved a good review in some magazine for this episode. This was a great episode

I think it has something to do with the fact that Seth Macfarlane was dangerously close to being on the plane that hit the North Tower (he missed getting on the plane by 10 minutes due to both recovering from a hangover and having an incorrect departure time).
