    who cares if he doesn't know music theory if he can play he can play and his solos kick ass. sweep picking/tremolo picking are very hard things to do

    "Don't ask me about music theory"????WTF!!!?? Your a guitarist in a metal band learn your instrument and you might actually wrote a guitar solo someday that doesn't just sound like some idiot noodling around with a guitar at Guitar Center

      Theory isn't something that makes you better at whatever instrument you play. Theory in a nutshell just gives names to all of the musical ideas that you play, it also tells you how different notes and chords work together in different keys, although that's a very condensed explanation.
