I priced out both of them as base models w/ no options and no awd. 430 is $11500 more. I think people choose the 4 because it's a little bigger and rides a little softer. I also see more 4's than 2's around in my area so I assume that means more 4's are available when shopping for a used one? Otherwise yes your right engine, trans, and interiors are almost the same. Just comes down to personal preference. I would choose a 4 just from how much I drive. Then again I went with a 3 cause I wanted the rear doors 🙂

The question isn’t “why get a 230 over a 430”, the real question is “ why pay $20k more for the 4 series when the 2 series is practically the same.
