UPDATE!!! FADA 160 made 9/1923

- It now works very well after replacing both interstage transformers and replacing the three capacitors. I took apart ever nut and bolt and cleaned and polished every part of this radio. Looks and sound brand new! You can get those replacement Interstage transformers at: www.arbeiii.com...
1920s radios are my favorites, because there close to the beginning of commercial broadcasting. The first electronic technical gadget to change the world. Very nice repair and restore, and it sound great! Plus it is a beautiful radio too.
@AllAmericanFiveRadio Thank you. That's one of the reasons why I love the old wood radios because they are so old. I really wish I could find one older than 1923. Older the better!
@Teflon65 It's very rewarding to be able to bring new life to these old radios that may otherwise be destined for the dump.

You are one lucky guy!!!! These are decently rare. I have two of these. They are extremely simple. You will want to check the interstage transformers and replace the three capacitors inside. I cannot believe you got it for FREE! I'd love to see some pics or video of it if you get the chance.

Correct. Only AM. They called it Standard Broadcast back then.
@iorixs Yea, it's not like the good ol days. Now on AM it's mostly talk radio and Spanish programing. However I do enjoy listening to Coast to Coast when they talk about crazy stuff.

I bought a Philco 89B today and the guy threw in one of these for free. Cabinet is in excellent condition. Needs no work. Am taking it in to my radio guy to see what is needed inside. It is missing the speaker and I will have to get a power supply. I am looking forward to getting it working.
I assume it gets only AM broadcasts.
