@fadatuberadioman Thanks for the information! It is amazing what you can do now-a-days, that would not have happened a few years ago. I think all this new stuff is fantastic!!
@bandersentv Yes there are a few stations left here in CA. The converter does work but I will just use it for display. I am really happy with the results. It was my first time to attempt such a project.
@AllAmericanFiveRadio I had a friend who sent me a picture of that the dial should look like. I went down to the mall and had the sticker making guy draft it up on his computer. I had him cut the sticker in reverse so that way I could have the sticker be applied to the back of the glass. So that way the paint is on the inside of the dial glass. I would say my dial is very a very close match to the original. Except that I added the gold Fada on top. It just felt right!
@k8zhd Yes I will do the same for the lettering around the knobs. I feel like a goober because I totally forgot about having those words: OFF UHF VHF and TUNING made at the same time. So at least it's easy enough to do even while the converter is all in one piece. I think most towns these days have at least one trophy shop or vinyl sticker shop that can make custom stickers.
That came out really well. I'd like to know more about the "sticker guy at the mall," since I haven't seen anything like that here in MA. Are you going to use the same technique to restore the lettering around the knobs too?

Looks great! Who makes your stencils and do you know if there from an original dial. The results are great.

I have a very nice old Mallory UHF converter, but right now it's sitting in pieces.
What movie is that?
