unreal man, Duffy, need I say more, he created a sound all on his own, a total hero, this blows the Electric version away man, and I like that album, albeit different, this just growls with Mick Ronsonesque licks, Ian's vocal on this is tremendous, otherwordly........exceptional band, just exceptional.
I discovered it in 1992. Was the same - WTF? These were the sessions which became the Electric album. They weren’t happy with the post Love sound so swapped producer and stripped it all back. Personally I think this one manor session EP is one of the most kick ass emotive things I had ever heard. It’s insanely good
i like this version a lot, although the production is really terrible and too overloaed and echoed. This version would be much better if properly produced. Nevertheless, the Peace album is a phantastic testament to a truly unique band.
It pains me to say it, but I think the band were right. The songs had become too long, too layered, and were collapsing under their own weight. I think if Peace had been released in 1986 there was a real risk it could have killed the band. That said, the Dreamtime sound is still peak Cult for me, and I don't really agree with the direction Electric did go in, even if ultimately Electric was a better LP than Peace. Something more like the Gun Club's Mother Juno would have been a good steer for them after Love.
this version is the real thing
Sounds much better, so epic.
Love this version! Sounds like The Cult from the Love album.
Me too!!!! Love it!!!
The Cult, the way they're supposed to sound!
