Uchiha Madara, I do admire him... Especially his character development throughout the series but it breaks my heart at the same time that only a few understand his ways of achieving peace for his village... He was one of the strongest Uchihas along with Shisui and Itachi and I will always remember him as one of the most feared villains of Naruto.

His character design is just too good and keeping him undetected, unknown and still making some hints to his existence and telling the legends about him, made it so interesting, that you could even survive the countless fillers. Then revealing him was such a great turn of events.
Honestly he could've been replaced by quite a few chars as main villain. Just give his hacks to Obito, Sasuke or even Orochimaru. He just had a poetic ring to him otherwise Madara or his dream werent all that compelling. Kishi needed a big enough of threat with understandable reasons who would be used as a stepping stone for Kaguya

He wanted to die after losing his brother, in the valley of the end he achieved his goal by snatching hashirama's cells and awakening the rennigan, against guy he fought knowing guy is a ticking time bomb and he just need to survive for a certain amount of time, when he got ready to fight saske and naruto he said he was going to win, and i beleive without zetsu interfering madara had over 50% chance of winning against the only 2 shinobi who had the 6 paths sage mode, so yeah in a 1v1 match I'd say madara is the strongest shinobi ti ever exist
