    Im a 27 yr old istp and this explained my process to a T. Two years ago i learned to break down my large goal (of finishing college) into smaller chunks and keeping my head down to get it finished knowing that success was far away but all that mattered at the moment was that day or that week. before then, i did not think far into the future and lived day by day, as is my default mode of living. I also did not move out until i was forced to lol. very accurate for me.

    I'm writing a short story where the protagonist is an ISTP and her "hero's journey" was sort of all over the place. This video has really helped me reign it in.

    I've said this a million times before, but having kids was the catalyst for my own journey. The old me had to die. It was (and continues to be) fucking brutal - but it is so, so worth it.

    At 32yo I find myself painstakingly at times working with my Fe and regardless of how awkward or downright uncomfortable it may be I always FEEL more “human” or “alive” then I’d previously felt in my earlier years. Sometimes I want to cry about all the moments in life I missed with people because I was sooo caught up in that Ti/Ni loop. Thank you for this video, it helps remind me I’m headed the right way.

      For me, I've basically come to realize that my point of view, although possibly correct, doesn't matter to anyone else and me internalizing this without sharing is completely useless to my success. It is only relevant to my personal pursuit of truth, which is the ultimate internal goal of lead Ti users, but this doesn't actually bring us happiness in the future because our "demon" functions develop and require more stimulation. I think going out and building relationships with people, whether it be business or intimate, is a good way to start on this path of discovering what you want to get out of Fe or what you can do to utilize it effectively. I never gave a fuck about people and their problems really because lead Ti users tend to take a "figure it out yourself" attitude because that's what we tend to do ourselves. Now at 28 I kind of give a fuck sometimes and I think that is good enough for right now. I want people to come to the realizations that I have about life so they can better themselves and acknowledge their own goals. But first lemme install this Playstation emulator to my laptop so I can play THPS2 and throw a dip in.

    I don't really relate. Some of us were forced to pay too much attention to the tribe early in life. ISTPs are not well equipped to sort out emotional abuse.
    It's a relief, later, to let go of that and live on our own terms.

    I always say I hate emotions. Like this is stupid and I don't need this feeling shit and I can do so much more with my time and projects I have without the emotion to distract me. Sometimes it literally aggravates me to love/miss my boyfriend lol. So I break down the emotions in a way I can understand. I'm human and we want to be social creatures and have a companion. I care for my companion and this is a natural feeling so I should accept it, embrace it etc and move on and everything is fine. Then I start to think maybe I'm half fucking robot simply because of the way I think lol. Fuck it.

    My true emotions are usually locked between theodosian walls of defense mechanisms, and nothing is probabebly going to be able to change that, hence why i will probably never be able to feel any emotions and empathy towards the majority of people.
    However through realising that its (dreadfully so) far easyer to get far in life though social networking, i do train my social skills and Ti substitute Fe aka cognitive empathy allmost every day. For what use are ones skills, if no one is ever gonna be open for them, due to their own bad emotionally prejudice?

    Oh wow! I feel like I’m on the brink of that integrating, but it feels like boxing w T. Rex arms! I’ve walked away from dealing with the tribe to lick my wounds, only to find out I wounded the tribe member way worse only after talking w 3rd party. I know sounds vague but details not as important as to find out Ti doesn’t soothe and comfort-it’s like petting a dog w a Viking sword.

    Why does nobody take the ENFP seriously? Why are we always seen as goofy? I mean I am pretty goofy but I'm way more serious than people realise? Any other ENFP's have this problem?

    • @MetalGearIV
      @MetalGearIV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zoë Wilkes most ENFP's have same problem and this happen because no one deal with your inside world , they see only from the outside, and ENFP's from the out side they look fun but not smart and the mix of Ne and Fi make them talk nonsense stuff or looking for fun time only.

    • @Magicalpow1
      @Magicalpow1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Zoë Wilkes An ENFP’s blindspot is Ti. The blindspot is always the 7th function. Ti is responsible for accuracy. This is important to note because ENFP’s utilize Ne and Te which allows them to be consistently objective- see every single angle of something, of all things, so many possibilities. However other people don’t understand because the ENFP will contradict themselves mid speech and the other person will be like “Huh?” They don’t have a sense of accuracy to the endless possibilities they’re always spitting. I kid you not, my sister, an ENFP, will say things like “yes.. no” and then look at me like she just said it all. And I’m like HUH.
      How the blindspot works is it’s only blind to you, so in theory you could see the blindspot in other ENFP’s but just not yourself. And you blame your 4th function to compensate, Si- reviewing the past almost like “Did I miss something?”
      The point is it’s hard to take someone seriously when they consistently contradict themselves and just spout over and over possibilities.
      Also society has trained people to respect serious quiet people instead of fun loving people, almost as if someone were quiet they probably sit at a desk all day learning things, there’s always that too.

    • @zoe9419
      @zoe9419 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Zachary Lane can you link me to somewhere which talks about the blind spots in depth please. I very much relate to your sister. I kind of live in this shrodingers tree of time lines "yes...no" the cat is to be considered both dead and Alive and as we don't know we must treat both possibilities as reality as both are currently true. But that does make me really unassertive because I can never pick a lane so to speak, I'm definitely the least detail oriented person I know, I find it extremely hard to focus on little details. People always say "you need to see the bigger picture" and I'm just like "that's literally the only picture I see I need a smaller picture please". I always thought your dominant function was the function you can't see, and that's why a lot of people type themselves wrong because what they're really observing is their middle functions because they can't see their number 1 saviour and are usually very protective and defensive about their inferior. I would love to know more about how the other four functions that aren't in my stack affect me. Why is Ti the hidden function for ENFP'S? I would assume it would either be Se or Ni

    Does xNTPs and ESTPs have the same "Awesomeness" ?
    Or at least the INTPs ? with revelation the Fe is necessary the success ?

    • @LukeReynoldsX
      @LukeReynoldsX 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think that INTPs (which I am) bring a different type of awesomeness. We're not going to be "inspiring" like the Se/Ni balanced Ti lead.
      But in order to unlock our particular brand of Ne/Si balanced Ti awesomeness, the solution is the same: work out that Fe.

    • @themissive8813
      @themissive8813 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of the IXXP types are similar in some respects, they all have a strong sense of identity because of their introverted decider (Fi or Ti). If their extroverted decider (Te/Fe) is strengthened enough to the point where they can effectively express this identity to others, they can be inspiring. Luke Reynolds is correct, it's important for all IXTPs to work on developing Fe. EXTPs have different issues, stemming from their tendency to over-gather through Ne or Se, and under-organize (inferior Ni/Si). The important thing to take away is to work on your inferior function, whatever that might be.
