I have a friend who did several years in Folsom and San Quentin in the early 70's to the early 80's. He told me about a guy in San Quentin they called "Pin Cushion Smitty" that was stabbed 60+ times and lived.
I'm 23 minutes in and I think I'm going to enjoy this...I believe this guy is being truthful. I listened to the Gianni Russo interview on Valuetainment yesterday and by the time he was "recalling" his "I was kidnapped by Pablo Escobar" story, it became clear he had crossed the line of exaggeration and hyperbole to straight-up bullshit! Btw, for the record Valuetainment's interviews are usually first class.
A couple things caught my attention. The first thing is how he sets up the situation with his brother in such a way that his brother is almost at fault. “He stole a car, so I had to rob a jewelry store.” The other thing that I noticed is how quickly his crimes became violent. That’s usually the sign of a sociopath, not a kid getting caught up in a burglary. He became a hardened violent criminal very quickly.
It's actually quite sad too. With his intelligence (he obviously has some charisma too) he really could have been something so much more and not have to have spent that time in prison and become even more hardened on the inside. I did sense some emotion from his brother dying though, maybe I'm imagining it. Such stupid decisions that turned his life in a bad direction.

I know how this guy can make millions legally. WRITE A BOOK. I’d buy it and I’d tell my friends to buy it too. This guy had me glued the screen for 2 1/2 hours!
Nah, not a psychopath, I’ve lived with a self admitted diagnosed sociopath (or antisocial BPD on the paper) for 1,5 years and he isn’t it. People like to think they would look through and expose a person who’s a sociopath, but I assure you it’s not that easy just ask any psychologist if you don’t believe me. You can spot a narcissistic person, but a sociopath is like a chameleon and they do everything to come off as normal & caring. In fact most people will tell you what a great impression they first had and many people describe it like meeting their ‘twin soul’ or the first one that really seem to understand you; this of course is because they’re only mirroring you when you’re interacting with them and it can take a long time before you catch up on it, it all depends how much time you’re spending with the person. It took 6 months with me living with her and a mushroom trip before I *(Wow WTF)* saw through her lack of personality & compassion. I mean, there was times I wondered what was up with her, but I brushed it of because the majority of the time we spent together was amazing, at least at first it was. I could write an essay on the topic, but final thing I want to say is: the worst thing you can do to a sociopath is exposing them, because then they’ve got no game and they’re “strength” suddenly become a weakness because you’re able to see through their deception.
Thats why they're so overfilled. Its insane. They make people worse, too. So some weed dealer whos never really been violent, or some kid who's green to life gets thrown in with psychos. American prisons are pathetic

You're a great interviewer Shaun, really appreciate your guest today too, great insights. Have a lovely night, and happy St. Patrick's Day from Ireland! Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit!
I think this was your best interview yet, riveting. I could listen to this guy all day long. Great channel.
We need a part 2! Thumps up. Get him back. Great storyteller.
I agree.
"Mana"
Great to listen to a man tell his story that has that presence of inner Mana.
Cheers John All The Best Mate.
Fantastic vid watched it from start to finish without a break 😊
Great questions and answers. You have a knack in leading the interview in good directions
Great interview Shaun. Love the way you leave the fella to it
This is beautiful, and his words are EXACTLY what I need right now (particularly, toward the end). Helps a lot, really.. Thanks!
Yo this guy is to cool!! Favourite guest yet! Pleaze have him on more!!!!
4th time listening to this 👍🏻.
John is relaxing to listen to and the stories are wild....
part 4 monday

Thank you for your service California inmate firefighters! They save our state $124m. Women inmates additionally make up a large portion of the firefighters. Good luck to you all 👏🙌👏 58:42
I'm only 1 hour in, but this guy is fantastic, this is a great podcast!
I have a friend who did several years in Folsom and San Quentin in the early 70's to the early 80's. He told me about a guy in San Quentin they called "Pin Cushion Smitty" that was stabbed 60+ times and lived.
Love all of Shaun’s podcasts, just wish he had one everyday
I want to hear every story this guy can remember. A unique angle you rarely hear about. Extremely interesting human being.
I just can't get over you Shaun! You are truly an amazing person! Love ALL of your work! Thanks so much for bringing this all out!
I watched Russo's performance last night and agree with you, it was straight-up bullshit.
All of Valuetainments content is top notch
Gianni Russo lied the whole time... “I shagged Marilyn Monroe when I was 16” ... he’s like jay from the inbetweeners
UFC STARS yeah this guy being interviewed but also makes me realize that Shaun is probably full of shit too
There's just a strange vibe I got listening to this entire broadcast 🤔 that's a 1st for me after watching so many of your vids, Shaun.
He's murdered women
@@jquest43 he definitely seems strange
Sociopath energy tbf
@@mishmila0167 I actually think mr. Abbot doesnt care. The guy has no emotions whatsoever.
Thanks Dr phil
Amazing. One of the best interviews I've ever watched.
This guy talks like he’s Native American
Hes picked up a Canadian accent, not surprising as he seems naturally skilled at fitting in places.
Sounds Canadian to me
Christopher Walkens Talks
Sounds like a dick garage to me.
@@Tuberuser187 people got used to fitting in his places.
Shaun’s Atwood’s got the best podcast on TH-cam..I’ve watched a few and I don’t know he just has good interesting guests and he’s a good host he doesn’t interrupt his guests n just listens..top stuff!
Absolutely fascinating as usuall. Amazing how someone survives all these situations and remains sane
So much wisdom right here, If you would listen to anybody on the pitfalls of a life of crime this man has got that wisdom
I know how this guy can make millions legally. WRITE A BOOK. I’d buy it and I’d tell my friends to buy it too. This guy had me glued the screen for 2 1/2 hours!
He did write a book many years ago called the Belly of the beast.
Great podcast. I remember subscribing when you had a few hundred subs. Delighted for you, keep going.
This guy strikes me as a legitimate psychopathic genius,.

I think more like a decent actor
What a wealth of stories and life lessons expressed so articulately...Please Encore this Guest!
Sounds like US prisons were fairer years ago, today it's a business!
Thats why they're so overfilled. Its insane. They make people worse, too. So some weed dealer whos never really been violent, or some kid who's green to life gets thrown in with psychos. American prisons are pathetic
Jackson Jackson bingo!! You go in for a petty crime and come out a full blown criminal
I enjoy all your vids but this one is right up there, great stuff Shaun 👍🏻
Whats another one that this good? I havnt seen any better yet
is this the same john abbott who might be involved in the unsolved murder of valerie?
Did you take a nap for 15 min.

I’m curious about this, myself
