Hi guys got a video on the FX Panthera and in this one we use a lump of steel to reinforce the front rail. Petes airgun farm facebook: / 100063567822562
Wait - what? A reinforcing rail on a £1800 gun?? That's pretty unacceptable in my book when coupled with the barrel issue (and subsequent replacement) and dodgy magazines. How would someone without access to expensive machinery and the requisite skills be able to correct these issues? FX need to give their heads a wobble.
Whilst I agree in principal, is it really any different than sending a brand new Annie to zenith or ratworks? Or the new XTI to Nick for a time up. All production rifles can be made better with focussed upgrades. If you don’t want to do anything to a brand new rifle, the redwolf is pretty much the only choice.
@@Tim_Bassett There's 'tuning' and there's correcting significant design flaws. Of which there should be zero on a £1.8K rifle. So yes, it is quite different.
Hey Geoff...don't have a panthera...don't know at this point why its rail might want reinforcing...but Im here watching again..and enjoying your vid again nevertheless!??😁👍
I cant believe the issues youre having with such an expensive rifle its lucky youve got the tools and skill to put things right and give the rest of us an honest view of the rifle top marks for the channel as always maybe FX airguns should sit down for some lessons
Thank you for watching👍 we are just showing what we find with our one, i would like to think we have been unlucky and there's not to many like this out there but i am not so sure 🙄
Very successful upgrade jake. These manufacturers would benefit from giving you and dad there new rifles to test and sort out before they launch them , can't wait to see what you find inside the block . Great upgrade 👌
It would be nice to think that the big companies are taking note on this channel that is not endorsed by anyone. It is a good, honest impartial overview in my opinion and hats off to them that they are not interested in getting something for nothing - more that they can show you what a gun can be like and what they think of it so you can make an informed decision on whether to buy it or not. Also, I think some of the ideas are genius.... as I say, just my opinion. Keep it up boys!!!
My god your skills are second to none. I wish I could do that, I need a lathe in my life,.and thanks for the advice you gave me I really appreciate it. Brilliant video again. Can't wait for the next..
@sub12airgunners really because I was thinking about getting one on layaway from duncans gun shop.i just didn't want an expensive headache is all, many thanks, your channel is the dogs nuts. 👌
Thanks for this idea 🙂 I just finished a similar project and the gun feels more stabile all ready. My rail is not nearly a prof made as yours, but still it works. Best regards Peter
Nice work - would be interesting to see how it compares with a flat plate and front rest over the bipod. The groups are coming along nicely - looking forward to the rest of the journey.
One of your less complicated machining job and looks to have worked quite well. You have certainly managed to get hold of a temperamental beast in this one! 😃😃
i have had 12 /13 fx rifles now, some have been great out of the box and some not so good and it's not good but i think a lot of manufactures are the same now lots of people buy a r10 or hw100 and send them to ratworks to get them tuned
yes it's a real shame we must have got a real lemon, everyone that has shot it says how nice it is, it's just a shame you cant hit nothing with it🙄 but it is getting there now and will end up good that for sure
@@sub12airgunners well I certainty hope some of these adaptions will arrive at bagnel and kirkwood if not I would be very interested in a private sale of such innovative ideas?
Great video! You should definitely look into manufacturing these reinforcement plate and custom barrel. I myself dont have acces or skills for high level machinery and would be a great client. Im sure im not the only one in the market! Thx for the vid
Wobbly rail is maybe on purpose, so FX or Saber Tactical can sell upgrade parts later. Same business model as with Impact. Correction - there is $325 panthera rail from Saber Tactical....
yes i think your correct , that has always got me with the impact the front pic rail ext and butt pad should come standard with an impact IMO🙄 thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
Contacted SabreTactical to see if they could find a solution to attach a sling to the front of my FX Dreamline Elite ST, since they forgot about prone shooting! Totally useless! They are very proud of the QD swivel mounting they built into the butt stock! Till I pointed out they are totally useless without a front mount.
Changing the barrel, make reinforcing rail. MAG issues. I feel FX rushed this hyped-up "PSR" rifle!? I would be one mad owner if I bought one and had these issues. That a side I really enjoy your videos no-matter what you are up to 👌😀
Awesome video great work 👍🏻 but like i said before it sucks that you had to add all these parts , and different barrel to get the gun to shoot consistent thanks for sharing be safe buddy 👍🏻
Hi! I was wondering what is the width of the reinforcing steel or the maximun width indside the rail. Also If you happen to know inside width of the saber tactical one since it's a bit wider and I'm wonderin if either one could be fitted to my existing chassis. I also couldn't find any photos or videos showing the male part of the Panthera body which goes inside the rail and dimensions of it. Thanks if you can help!
Found a video including the support block (part number A24), now I'm only wondering the width of the support block, and screw spacing between the two bolts going to panthera's body. Thanks!
@@sub12airgunners Maybe the same approach on the barrel would help 😉. That gun when you have finished will be Triggers broom on steroids (a confusing comment for your non-uk followers !)
nice job and definitely seem to tighten up them groups. i don’t have to tell you those mags are crap for sure . not seen one yet that is good even when you wind the spring tension off still inconsistent. good single shot loader 1 definitely shoots better 2 you don’t blow through 500 pellets in an hour 🤣🤣🤣win win situation
I hope some of FX reps etc see this and make the effort of getting what you should expect for that sort of money these can't be made in someone garage pull your finger out FX.l got an fx impact MK2 and I rate it but I will not be buying any of these products, yet another excellent video 👍
Dame it 30th I'm away and was hoping to get to the bootsale, I have a fx impact m3 and man I have been having problem after problem with it. Shop shop give money back as its been over the 12 month period even tho it has a 3 year warrenty with it only used the Gun 3 times if that taken back once
Good video, just me I guess but for the price the gun should be a shooter without all the extra work you have done . Still one of my favorite channels 👍

All those "FX youtubers" must cost something... This airgun channel is like a miracle today.
Couldn’t agree more. Said this for a while and totally put me off even considering one

Stunning work as ever Jake ,I cannot believe how much better this rifle is now after shooting it the first day you got it.
you will have to have another go with it now mate SS loaded it is pretty good now 😁😁
Great idea, excellent results👍🏼

I can clearly see that when you guys come out with your own pcp rifle, it's going to be a beauty.

Typical FX, but as long as sheep are willing to pay the price and think that needing to tune it to make it accurate is a bonus, why would they change?
yes this one is making us work for it 😁 but it's showing promise now

Did you consider slightly bending the steel reinforcement in order to create a tension and help nullify vibration?
i didn't think of that i may have a go and see if it make any difference great idea 👍

Hi mate! I thinking of getting a moderator for my .177 Fx maverick! What would you recommend! Your videos rock mate! Keep up the good work!!!!!
the fx ones are pretty good for what they are and the Donny FL is nice for the looks the Weihrauch is the one to go for to make it quiet 😀

It seems to me that twist equals cant. How could that not affect point of impact?
yes i think you are correct 😀
