Kinda hurts to see this game getting shit on in the comments, because I found it really fun and it was made in honor of Ninja rope racing in Worms Armageddon among other things, which I really liked as a kid. In Woolie's defense, there are a few things that are not obvious to new players and kinda makes things really hard until you figure them out, or really observe other people's ghosts. Here are a few: -Grappling resets your double jump! abuse it. -The farther you are from the surface you are hooking on, the bigger the swing. (easy to say, hard to find the sweet spot and not quite as intuitive as you might think.) -You get WAAAAY more vertical launching power if you hook, let yourself go under your hook and THEN reel in, also can be combined with a boost to get really up there. -The angle you let go of your hook with is also really important. if you let go while you're at the bottom of the curve, you'll get (m-m-m-m-)maximum horizontal momentum, but if you're letting go a bit farther than that, most of that horizontal momentum will be lost. the sweet spot is really hard to get, and it's proportionately harder to get it if you're close to your hook spot. -If you want to jump higher, boost BEFORE jumping. took me a bit to realize since you instinctively just jump and boost at the same time, and it's not as consistent to do that. -The game does have a kill button. two, in fact! one to get back to the checkpoint, and one to restart. I think it was circle and square or triangle. -If you don't know where to go, there's a map function! though it takes up space and can be distracting at times in bigger levels. -Water skiing resets your jump, and many times you are required to use your double jump close to the water, then boost to ski and boost-jump away I'm not really expecting many people to read this or buy the game, but hopefully if anyone does, it'll be helpful. I'm not like trying to school Woolie on the game or anything.
The Game is good but dissapointing. It starts like is going to be an epic platform adventure but is just a Newgrounds time trial minigame with leaderboards. Again, the game is not bad, but not what you expect from the intro.

I just realized that this meter that appears whenever I press the dash button is my dash meter... It's things like this that make it incredibly hard to believe that the best friends have actually been playing games for 25+ years. Stuff like that happens so much, and it's even worse when the second person who's not even playing the game doesn't notice something on the screen that's been there forever, like what's happened in many playthroughs. 19:10 is like the very definition of insanity. Matt says something like "Don't use any boost then cuz you need to go across the water." Woolie agrees then immediately uses all of his boost before reaching the edge. Like, it's things like this that make me hate when Woolie especially is on the controller. He's just fucking retarded with anything that's not a fighting game. Some of these games make me think of FFX and how they overthought everything, took 20 minutes just to hit attack and, fuck. I enjoy watching these guys, but I just can't stress how unbelievable it is to think they've been playing games for years.

So the reason Woolie is doing so bad is because he thinks the boost will improve his speed and time, neither of which appeat to be true. Haven't played this game, but based on the video it looks like the boost dash actually prevents you from gaining momentum on swings and actively decelerates the player following the dash.
It's fuckin hilarious watching Woolie 'Bionic Commando Master' Madden fucking up this hard Woolie, repeatedly going as close to the wall as possible and shooting his grapple-dick right into it : "I don't get it, is there something I'm missing with this... Grappling hook?????'

Because it could be like that ferrofluid stuff that turns into black spikes due to magnets- there, simple: "oh, the spikes? That is made up of little bits of iron sand that got caught in this temple over 1000 years. Because of my sick ass magic, they turn into spikes."

I'd love to sit woolie down for a physics lesson: when you use a pendulum, you want the most speed possible, this can either be done by snapping yourself with a short rope when you have lots of speed, or a long rope so you can get enough height to throw yourself. Short ropes are only for quick direction changes

They can't not play Detroit and Yakaza has become something of a cult hit on the channel so I'm sure they will play both at some point (I hope and pray)
I've played a good bit of this game and you should give Woolie some slack here as it has very steep learning curve and has somewhat non-traditional controls. You have to do almost everything in a "deliberate" way to get through levels smoothly. In most platformers its easy to bumble your way through but you can hit some pretty hard walls in this game. I believe the developer of this also built it from close to scratch so kudos to them.

Halfway through and he still has not learned he can't grapple stone when there have been entire sections of JUST stone to teach dashing

Update-UPDATE: I haven't used my new controller yes as I am mostly playing DBFZ, but the old controller is no longer bugging out. I wasted $60 on a superfluous item: True Real Life Microtransaction, Confirmed!

Played both, the grappling is way different. SR's way of grappling messes you up a lot here
