Hi gang, if I sounded a tiny bit sick it’s because I was!! I did most of the building whilst I was ill and only felt well enough to record the voice over today. Give me sympathy likes on the video because I’m a poor sick boy of 29 years of age
On empires you should get a trident with channeling and retexture the trident to look like a thunderbolt that would be a perfect weapon for your charecter
I can’t come up with designs to save my life. I don’t know how TH-cam’s like Joel does it. I’ll be following a 30 minute tutorial and it’ll take my 5 hours to even do cause I keep miscounting the damn blocks
Gotta say I was expecting another straight through 24 hour challenge but good on Joel for looking after at least a bit of his own sanity- though we’ll have to see how well that ages throughout the video lmaoo Edit: absolutely stunning work! I would live there if given the chance fr
Rather than another build elsewhere I'd love to see this build polished and finished off. It looks absolutely amazing and it's incredibly what you managed in 24 hours, but you can definitely tell the difference between areas you had time to detail and ones you didn't.
Love the build, amazing style and colours... you should definetely think of a sort of jungle or swamp biome next 24 hour challenge. Just the overgrown feel would be incredible.
You are incredibly talented, my man. I think its possible you have taken the spot as my favourite builder! You've grown so much over the years, and your attention to detail is incredible. You manage to make intricate, well designed builds without all the details looking like noise. I'm super impressed.
this reminds me of server lobby builds or survival games maps. basically what i’m saying is that it looks so good like it was done by a professional build team

I really like the building style. The fact that it's in the desert and joel loves adding natural things to his builds is incredible. I love that he's a unique builder as he always makes something rather different. If I could, I would world download this immediately!

I'd honestly say he isn't underrated! He's pretty well known through SMPs, in the building community, and of course his friends help people check him out too.
Seeing you build the templates and then placing them and connecting them really helped me. Just for the fact of having something and using it in different ways in the same area can make it look so different. I think in my mind I keep thinking I have to have lots of really different buildings for it to look expansive but seeing them being placed and just modified I can take that idea in my survival building.
Joel you are actually insane, how you make yourself do these things it's unimaginable. I can't believe you can make all these amazing builds so quick! Keep up the regular uploads I love your videos!

I'd love to see him finish the exterior of the city, all the details and even make it a functioning city with villagers and interiors! A 24 hour Part 2 to finish everything.
my favorite thing about joel’s videos are how much effort and time he puts into them. I can’t even spent 10 minutes building without getting bored! joel had all my respect
I'm always impressed when people can make deserts look so good. He's done it here and Pix did the same thing in empires season 1. Kinda want to try it myself if I can find a decent sized desert in my world
I needed this video alot! As im running out of motivation to continue building my city and this gave me alot of new ideas, specifically the desert area
A cool building idea would be to remake some of the iconic 'early' mega builds of the game, such as the cobblestone oak wood temple in the jungle, etc.
I remember the first time I discovered you were on the "building for 24h in a row" video, I remember calling you insane the entire video, little did I know I was right! You're a madlad! XD But this video also made me learn what building in Minecraft is and how cool it is! It was also unknowingly my first step into the empire community so I have to thank you for that! :) Those builds are fantastic and your videos are great, keep it up ! :D
Amazing desert city and video! The building style is greate and very refreshing with its oriental architecture and very bright colors. I love how you managed to incorporate the mangrove wood that tends to look a bit out of place in many other builds. All in all, congrats for such amazing builds in little time, and I would be glad to see a next video like this! ;)

I think a large, open air theatre could fit in well, maybe similar to the arena. Also a farming area would be very cool or a boat or two out on the water. Your builds are always crazy impressive, you manage to make them huge and still detailed in a very short time frame and it absolutely baffles me every time, I have no idea how you build so quick lol. Absolutely gorgeous.
I was looking at those wide straight roads in your city and it bounced around in my head a bit and led to a really neat city street layout idea, so thanks a ton for that. :3
I just really want to see the city in it's finished form. It's such an amazing build and it's a pitty if it remains undone because it has soooo much potential!

Joel has improved so much I loved the Elven style one you did in a 24 hour challenge but this was just incredible even the editing it was so smooth and the different camera angles were the cherry on top amazing work :)

This city turned out so beautiful! Honestly I‘d love to live in a city like this. Even though there‘s richer and poorer areas, the poor areas still look really beautiful and it gives me the vibe that the people who live here all care for one another. Maybe the palace isn’t used by an actual Monarch but is a remnant of the past and now houses a museum, with the gardens being open to the public? Either way it turned out so cool! ☺️

Honestly, I am surprised how good your city planning and designing is, aside from the already spectacular builds of course. Like it feels like a genuine, immersive old desert city that people could live in, I love it.

It's the kind of city that one would live in even if they were on the poorer side, even the places for poorer people look vibrant and nice.
