That's somewhere between poetic but also such a cosmic horror ( but like in an "awe and wonder" than "horror" way). Like it's such a soft-cryptic concept. A Cottage of Nowhere, a place known (proven!) to exist but can never be reached. A place with such personality and so lived-in, but has never been truly called home. It's like déjà vu for a place you've never been, for something you didn't lose. But it fills you with familiarity and comfort anyway.

I just found this channel and this was the most emotional thing I've seen in a while, it hit me right in the "you've never had a real home" and made me actually start working on the house I wanna live in for the rest of my life. With the current market in my area it's almost imposible to get a house that is both practical and affordable, but this made me think that, at the end of the day wherever I make my home, it's going to be just mine untill I die, and later on it will be someone elses house untill they get to find their perfect place. Making something just for the process, even if it wont last forever, but still giving the thought of the eternal life in its own space, is the most human thing out there
Wow this is actually so beautiful, I have never thought of homes like this but this actually changed my perspective, wish I could give you a million likes
this really got me... i've been homeless most of my adult life and have never had a place i could call my own. i've played a lot of minecraft, ignoring the optimization meta and just building. building a home for myself over and over again. standing around, walking through it, just getting immersed in this place i made for myself. it certainly fills a void, both creatively and spiritually for me. i've decided my best course of action with this housing market is to get a van and put everything i need in it. electricity, shower, kitchen, etc. i can make that my home. it will be the only way i can 'own a home' in this economy, and i'll be very proud of it. one day i'll upgrade, and probably sell it to someone else who can't afford anything better and who will appreciate the humble but intentional craftsmanship i'll put into it. i have so many years of practice making a home for myself out of nothing, both in and out of the digital world.
the end made me want to bawl my eyes out lol. I have so many builds just hidden in old archives of small servers on minecraft where they will sit forever, completely inaccessible to me, lonely and totally digital. they were so full of love and memories. build contests, friends just hanging out, all the imperfect things I tried to work out. little pieces of my psyche spread all over

You can really see all the love you put in with no pressure from anyone else, no expectations, no deadlines, just you and your creativity free to roam and build as it wants to. It’s a shame that the world ended up being pretty much inaccessible, but it’s fitting that the cottage now exists completely on it’s own. Such an amazing building and video.. Not gonna lie, the ending made my heart ache a bit. Maybe, in another dimension where this cottage exists, many adventurers found it as a resting place, never knowing who had built it as a clue was never left, leaving it's legacy as "The Cottage for Nobody."
Just stumbled on your video late last night. You have an amazing talent and the cottage was beautiful. But it was your words that had me in tears. And i think its because after all the time and work it was gone but there. Real, but broken. You talked about people who used to build homes from things found in the area telling the story of there surroundings. I was struck again by the loss and it made me think of my dad. He worked hard and scraped his way through life. He built a life for my mom and for us his three children. Dispite having little he made our lives feel full. He pulled us out of hard times and into a bigger house and made that house the home i lived most my forming years. He struggled and his body betrayed him and when we lost him it felt like he went to some untouchable place to never hear his laugh or corney jokes again. Gone, but not gone.

oh I totally teared up at the end,,, what a beautiful story :) I always love ur stories sniff!!! this was such a beautiful build and I loved all the thought that went into it! A house that is lived in,, with the open window and the curtains spilling over the table,, how it reflects who built it, who lives in it, and who will live in it,, I learned a lot from this little video! and my respect for architecture has definitely gone up!

this is literally the coolest minecraft building video i’ve ever watched. not only because the build is incredible, but also because of the history and architecture knowledge that you used to help the build? this is awesome. definitely earned my like and subscribe.
absolutely loved this video! it’s been a while (bc of my awful attention span) that I’ve been able to just sit down and whole a video all the way there. the narrative, the personal thoughts, the actual building itself, everything worked so well to enthrall me. this felt like sitting down during the autumn cold, staring out the window dreaming of something bittersweet. it was great to watch you have fun and build something for just yourself. and you’re so right at the end about the strange poetry of having this be unsharable, like it’s this whole, small, intimate story inaccessible to all but you. loved this video!!
The pointy roofs also served as a way to keep deep snowfall from building up and crushing the roof. A crucial and sometimes necessary feature in regions with heavy snow during the winter.
I love what you said about the layout of a house telling a story about who built it. My house was ordered out of a Sears catalogue 100 years ago. So were the three other little houses that occupy the street I grew up on. Even though they all seemingly look the same, each one has little quirks and specificites to them that make them unique. It's not something I've ever really though about until now.
This is a perfect example of the maximalist house i want when I get older. Its charming, it has character, and you can really imagine yourself spending everyday in it. obviously, its a minimalists hell on earth, but its gorgeous
Only found your channel a short whiles back and subbed immediately for the vibes. I can't understate how the exterior and how the interior is based off tudor design is 1 for 1 my dream home I've drawn plans for lol. Always a joy for your videos to pop up!
The end was so poetic and emotionally fueled. Reminding me of a life that I never wanted. I’ve never really had a place to call home and I’ve never really had friends either. Its contents of it telling the story of its owner, the dreaminess of a home, but it's also completely isolated and nearly impossible to visit. 9:28 Lord I know that feeling too well. I've submitted a LEGO tram design to an official contest and everyone I've showed it to says "wow! It's so beautiful, you're so talented, I'm sure it will win!" but here I am thinking to myself "there's at least ten flaws I can think of looking at this thing from a glance, I'm a hack, I have no chance of winning whatsoever."
25:52 you did not have to shoot me through the heart at the end there. May I use this cottage as a hidden D&D location? I'll probably never use it but it would be my own way of immortalizing, and interpreting it.
you inspired me to add chisel and bits into a modpack for me and my friend. I am having so much fun with it but in the same breath I am even more in awe of your absolute innate talent and all of your hard work to make such incredible creations with it. I love your stuff! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Its contents of it telling the story of its owner, the dreaminess of a home, but it's also completely isolated and nearly impossible to visit. It exists by itself and for nobody else just as it was built to be." that was acutally fire that hit hard that lowkey should go in a movie
26:20 THIS MADE ME CRY 😭😭😭😭😭
Cause thats how i feel sometimes. I build stuff in Minecraft, roblox studio, blender and sometimes I feel alone while doing it but it feels like its my own personal safe space
Was not ready for the character rendering at the beginning but I’m all for it
17:37 Looks like you’re nodding in approval at the additional texture/support beams in the ceiling like “hmm, yes yes, this looks lovely!” 🤭
To me it looks like they're licking the wall
this is the first time i’ve ever seen a full build using the chisel and bits mod. somehow, that idea never crossed my mind. gotta say, this is absolutely beautiful. fantastic work.
3:20 you are so right, and this isn't just with pintrest its happening on a ton of art websites where ai art just floods everything
26:41 Missingno painting vibe
as someone who is a professional interior design HATER, i really like to look at your interior designs and it helps me pick and choose what i should and shouldn't build in my interiors. thank you snifferish for just being, you. (love ur vids)
at 0:14 is that Bo Burnham's apartment from his Inside Netflix special?
yes!
I'm obsessed with this movie dude the lights and the music and just the general vibe of it really resonated with me
I was about to comment that
@@Snifferish I knew it! that's awesome!
I KNEW that it was Bo’s room immediately
THANK YOU for finally making a long-form video of one of your builds!!! i've wanted this for so long, wishing that they weren't just delegated to shorts
watching through this video more, i can confidently say that this has to be one of my favourite youtube videos of all time. this is absolutely gorgeous, you've outdone yourself. you're a brilliant artist
i don't know if you'll read these comments, but if you do-- i'd love if you made sims build videos too!! and hopefully they'll be less of a time sink for you
26:36 Why did this make me tear up a little bit 🥺
Same😭
honestly, this is one sweet and one calming video to watch. I have bad paranoia so when i try and distract myself by videos I seem to find myself in a rabbit hole of Minecraft youtubers. I'm just glad to have stumbled onto this video. 100% worth subscribing and also i think this is the first time writing anything on TH-camr's comment section. (sorry if its too long but I hope if you read this, you will maybe smile at this? idk but anyways have a good day/night)
This video is my introduction to you, and you absolutely did not disappoint. You’re aesthetic and genuine passion and interest in this build made me extremely happy. I love when creators like you drag parts of their personal lives into things that add real character.
Same, we need a team of modders to recover the world and fix it to not crash a computer.
26:29 umm??? you made me cry what even. like that is perfect and i have no complaints but so very unexpected! i loved watching this video.
have a wonderful day
oh I totally teared up at the end,,, what a beautiful story :) I always love ur stories sniff!!! this was such a beautiful build and I loved all the thought that went into it! A house that is lived in,, with the open window and the curtains spilling over the table,, how it reflects who built it, who lives in it, and who will live in it,, I learned a lot from this little video! and my respect for architecture has definitely gone up!
your work melts my heart, what a great vision you have with things like nice houses.
This is one of the most sentimental, inspiring, creative, nostalgic videos I’ve ever seen. I think that whoever thinks this was just all setup to be heartwarming, you don’t have a cold heart, you have no heart.
I almost cried at the story about naming it the cottage for nobody! It's really moving. Great job Sniff! Subscribing now!
“Best sandbox game” yet we’re having people say Minecraft lost it’s value
I dont think it has tbh, those people always seem like the type to complain about anything lol
@@viridia1526 to be fair, i do think Minecraft has lost its charm and I can’t play it for longer than 10 minutes without getting extremely bored. 🤷♀️
@@Tildagchicken you just need to do something new when you play it again, like build an entire village in survival or mine a mountain. There is the option to download mods to make it more exciting.
@@HEADHUNTER_FILM While I appreciate your suggestion and I understand that some people may disagree with me I just think that if I tried to do something new and exciting I would lose motivation within a week. (I can’t download mods either! 😔) However I still enjoy watching my favourite Minecraft youtubers make Minecraft videos!
@@Tildagchicken Thanks! Just wanted to make sure you tried other options before giving up😁
22:02 why is your #1 favourite thing 'Stink,Big guy,Bug,'
Those are my cats names
@@Snifferishthose are some fire names
I had a great dane named Bug. Loved him more than anything, ever. Love your Bug well, they won't be around forever.
This was so comforting to watch for some reason, the symbolism and the poetic expressions really just made the cherry on top. Amazing work❤
Wow I loved this so much actually ♥ I'm a Sims player and I've never played minecraft but your creativity was absolutely captivating!! Love a good woodland cottage build 🥹
I love how this incorporates real history and actual good design. I adore this house and very well done :)
8:45 “What does demure mean” 😭😭

YESS
this is literally the coolest minecraft building video i’ve ever watched. not only because the build is incredible, but also because of the history and architecture knowledge that you used to help the build? this is awesome. definitely earned my like and subscribe.
absolutely loved this video! it’s been a while (bc of my awful attention span) that I’ve been able to just sit down and whole a video all the way there. the narrative, the personal thoughts, the actual building itself, everything worked so well to enthrall me. this felt like sitting down during the autumn cold, staring out the window dreaming of something bittersweet.
it was great to watch you have fun and build something for just yourself. and you’re so right at the end about the strange poetry of having this be unsharable, like it’s this whole, small, intimate story inaccessible to all but you.
loved this video!!
The pointy roofs also served as a way to keep deep snowfall from building up and crushing the roof.
A crucial and sometimes necessary feature in regions with heavy snow during the winter.
this gave me goosebumps, amazing build, meaningful message, and I loved the parts where you talked about the story of the house
man the production quality of your videos has become absolutely insane!
I love the animation of your character while narrating, it adds so much life.
Also great build
3:23 i got so shocked bcs im playing the sims 4 rn with this video in the background LOL what a coincidence
Only found your channel a short whiles back and subbed immediately for the vibes. I can't understate how the exterior and how the interior is based off tudor design is 1 for 1 my dream home I've drawn plans for lol. Always a joy for your videos to pop up!
18:33 YESS YOU SHOULD!!❤️ That would be cool to see how much you’re change over the years!
22:58 "changed them jurassic-ly" 🦖
25:43 When you make a build with all your heart that lives up to it's name more than the intent behind it
That little end speach.... It was sad! 😢 I like your cottage! It's cute! 😊
Your videos makes me feel like am in a fairyland, cause they r just so magical and calm ,i really look forward for more of those
The end was so poetic and emotionally fueled. Reminding me of a life that I never wanted. I’ve never really had a place to call home and I’ve never really had friends either. "It's almost peaceful to know that somewhere in this digital world is this cottage. Its contents of it telling the story of its owner, the dreaminess of a home, but it's also completely isolated and nearly impossible to visit. It exists by itself and for nobody else just as it was built to be."
This is my first video im watching of you, and i already love your type of video's. I have been thinking about making lots of minecraft builds exactly in this style, but i really never knew where to start. Watching this video really helped with mods, and other stuff. If you have any more tips for a beginner i would greatly appreciatie it, thanks for making this video!

I hope you win tbh
25:52 you did not have to shoot me through the heart at the end there. May I use this cottage as a hidden D&D location? I'll probably never use it but it would be my own way of immortalizing, and interpreting it.
Id love that!
I was thinking of someone making this once I was older, but I am happy I get to see someone do this.❤
22:32 wow that was the most poetic ending i have ever seen
26:32 why is this part of the video so beautiful? In a sad way.
Woah 20 seconds ago this is incredible keep being you sniff ❤
4:10 THX reference 😳
you inspired me to add chisel and bits into a modpack for me and my friend. I am having so much fun with it but in the same breath I am even more in awe of your absolute innate talent and all of your hard work to make such incredible creations with it. I love your stuff! as someone who wants to go to college to be an architect (after scrapping the unlikely idea of interior designing), also loves green and adores plants everywhere, likes painting and 3D, has played minecraft since they were 4, and also loves building with nature vibes, I'm glad I found this channel, I just gotta figure out chisel and bits now...

I have been missing minecraft lately as a sims 4 girly myself lol because every project I start in minecraft makes me feel MASSIVE burn out so when I saw this in my suggestions I thought I’ll just watch it because honestly I need more build ideas in the sims 4 but honestly this video was breathtaking and beautiful I felt like every part of it was carefully crafted (pun intended) and I just have to say that you rekindled my love for minecraft this was absolutely incredible
