Oh, absolutely! Honestly, I'm considering making a video on some of my older works, because I look back at some of the things I've made and just... close the tab. Most of my works are typed but I do often write down ideas or parts of scenes on scrap paper when I'm in class and can't pull out my phone or computer to jot them down. If it's your handwriting that's making you cringe, I'd definitely suggest handwriting first and then typing them up on the computer! That's what I did for years, and still do to an extent today. If it's the content of the writing itself, I'd still recommend that. Typing it up after it's been written on paper can actually act as a first draft, because you'll have to read it more carefully than if you were just skimming it over. That means you'll catch any potential spelling errors, grammar snaffus, and sentences that maybe don't flow well. In general, you're only going to get better with practice! Read other people's works, see what they do that you like (and even more so what you don't!) and adopt those things into your style! I've been writing for over ten years now - developing your skills doesn't happen overnight!
