I can use this! Got it saved.
I've never used smart objects in my variations of the Orton effect so I'll give that a try. In all the various methods I use, I always reduce the opacity to 0, look away for a minute, then slowly increase opacity to taste. I presume that you didn't use opacity because you built the adjustment in via smart objects? I really like the Orton effect on my landscape images and use it often. I do sometimes use a mask to paint out dark areas since dark doesn't glow and adding glow there looks unnatural.

I really loved both of your tutorials on how do use the Orton Effect. I personally like to do a lot of compositing where I put a model in a garden. I am going to try to use the knowledge I learned in your video tutorials to create an Orton effect on one of my composites. When I get done I would like to send you photograph. Great demonstration. I am wondering if you have tried Luminar AI which has Orton effect and Glow and Mystique effect in its slider options to create this type of mood in photo. Or do you prefer to do this in Photoshop? Perhaps in a later video you could try a demonstration with a trial version of Luminar for comparison.
Hay Anthony. First, Big Fan, I've been watching you videos for a couple of years. I have been experimenting using the Orton effect on some of my files. I love the glow effect however I was wondering what filter or blending mode you would use to enhance the glow of the highlights

Btw...what's the equivalent of "create smart object" in affinity? Is there something like that possible?
@@XXX-vy6xv Affinity Photo doen't have smart object but you can apply "live filter" which let you change the value later like you would with a smart object.
