Fami really gives them a whole new level. Her slap style makes those riffs pop and those little melodic fills gives the music a third dimension that it didn't really have before. I'm a guitarist myself (I do play bass occasionally) but really enjoying the bass lines in this song more than anything.

Agreed. Fami really adds something to the band that Miho couldn't (or didn't) give the band. I loved Miho, but in my opinion, Lovebites II with Fami is a better band than the original line-up with Miho.

Considering the alien like talent fami has on the bass, Lovebites snatching her up was a great investment.
Their new album I garentee there will be at least one song that will be absolutely nuts showcasing her full potential.
@@kyles5513 I hope you're right, but I suspect most (or all?) of the album was written before Fami joined them. I'm wondering if we'll have to wait for the album after "Judgement Day" to see songs written specifically to make use of Fami's technical playing style. It will also be interesting will be to see how Fami being in the band changes their live performances.
While I wasn't a Lovebites fan, I had absolutely nothing against them, just didn't click with me. Still...
I've been following Fami for 3+ years and would have never wished Miho's departure.
I feel like Fami coming in to Lovebites will be of the same impact as Vlad coming in to play drums for Jinjer.

Yeah they really keep going. I think Fami the bassist bring some difference with her playing style. She fits perfectly with the band. like she was with the band for years. My opinion i think this album it's gonna be their best. And the song right now is number one in the Japan music chart, moved Metallica to the second place. Thanks for your reaction. If you are able, could you post a link to the chart that shows Lovebites at the top. I did a quick Google search and couldn't find it.
We've been waiting for their return for so long, so I really can't be disappointed because they're coming back with a masterstroke! Fami's first appearance is more than promising and then Asami's voice! Asami is outstanding. They all are by the way. Can't wait for the album..

Lovebites has proven itself once and for all to be one of the best bands ever. They play amazing heavy metal with lots of technical merit and this new single just kicks it all up to 11.

The bass lines have definitely changed with Fami. More detailed and intricate. Asami's voice is the best I've heard from her. Miyako & Midori seem tighter, especially Miyako with a bump up in speed. And Haruna is more intricate with her cymbal work. Amazing return.
In Fami they have found a bassplayer that matches Midori ans Miyako. This sets the bar for new metal. BUT... Oh my Haruna...(she has short and colored hair now) the more I listen to this song I am convinced Haruna has a 3:rd arm. She is going nuts in some parts, and her cymbalwork ,oh my, she is ..hrm ...a badass beast. She has evolved as well maybe thanks to Fami's playing?
Love your reactions to the best band ever. Next time you play it, just try picking out Fami. *that* is the difference. *She* is the difference. I can’t stop playing this song, it’s musical Crack. And one of the reasons I keep playing it is because I can’t get enough of Fami’s inventiveness. During the the 4 part solo section she plays a different bass riff for each section. And during the chorus the bass run is so satisfying it purrs.
I’ve been expecting a change of tone, a change of direction perhaps, and when they announced the recruitment of Fami and I watched Alien Alien I *knew* that they were going to be at their musical zenith. Yet as soon as she tapped the intro, and the glass shatters, I *still* wasn’t prepared. What makes this band so precious are the little details. Like being in the chat while we all sat slack jawed listening to the music….

I'd watched a lot of Fami's videos but the thing that convinced me that they were on to something was listening to her solo album. There's not anything she can't play.

The change in style is obviously doing the band some good. There was nothing wrong with Miho's style, of course - the band made some AWESOME music with her - but Fami plays more like Miyu from Asterism and MISA from BAND-MAID rather than Steve Harris or Jason Newstead. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

This was mixed and mastered by Finnish masterminds, Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila, who have worked on all of the band's previous studio albums. The same guys are behind every Nigthwish record too..

I was going to say what @dcola123 said. It took a second watch for me to realize there was only one star cymbal. I did notice it during the recording of this reaction which is why I mention it. I incorrectly assumed she had more than one though.

For me personally, to say that Lovebites are like Nightwish is an insult that can't be worse. How can they be like a band with mediocre musicians (except for vocals and now they have a good drummer), pop melodies and rhythmic structures and lyrics for teenagers. I think Nightwish is a typical product of mass culture and this explains its popularity.
Sorry, but the evolution from Black Sabbath to Nightwish is just amazing. I can't think of a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon.:)
I'll start by saying that Lovebites is my favourite band, but I don't think your description of Nightwish is fair or accurate. They are an amazing band with some amazing songs (and the best female hard rock vocalist on the planet). Sure, they don't play with the speed and technicality of Lovebites, but they're not playing Power/Speed/Thrash metal, so speed and complexity are not required to the same degree as in a typical Lovebites song. My main disagreement however is with your assessment of Nightwish's lyrics as being for "teenagers". Many of their songs lyrically are pure poetry, and a song like "Greatest Show of Earth" is (in my opinion) one of the greatest rock songs ever written.
@@1970Phoenix Thank you for the correct objection.Teenagers also have their own poetry and early Nightwish was quite in line with their expectations.The popularity and commercial success of the band is due precisely to the fact that their music was simple and accessible to this audience. Teenagers and schoolchildren made up the bulk of their fan base. It can be compared with Lovebites, whose fan base is adults and very adults who have not lost their love for rock and metal over the years, and are mostly very competent and knowledgeable. As for the musicians, it is impossible to look at the guitarist Nightwish without tears, the bass and drums of the first line-up are not much better. And how the keyboard player plays is a real mystery, it is impossible to see for those rare seconds when it is shown in concert videos. I have never seen a video where he is alone, without a band, playing the piano or synthesizer. Are there such videos? From the very beginning of his career, Nightwish used the soundtrack parts of keyboard and even guitar at concerts.
First of all, I disagree with your description of Nightwish as well. I think they have some great music and some very heavy, well crafted songs. I agree their early stuff isn't great but it isn't mediocre either. @777Phoebe, they're not playing Power/Speed/Thrash, but they could if they wanted to. Master Passion Greed is a good example.
Second, I never said Lovebites are like Nightwish. I said the opening of this song sounds very "Nightwqish Style". I also said the opening sounds like the opening of a Nightwish song. I guess I need to be a little more clear on that. I didn't mean that it sounded like any particular Nightwish song, just that it sounds to me like it would fit well as an opening to a Nightwish song given the symphonic elements of it. Mind you I was only talking about the opening of this song. There are a lot of songs that have parts that remind me of parts of other songs by other bands but that doesn't mean that I think they're completely alike.

I'm sorry, it may sound harsh, but I think that such comparisons are made without much thought, and they do not suspect how ridiculous it looks. It's like if someone listened to, for example, Dream Theater, and said, "Oh, and here it's very similar to Nightwish." And what would Dream Theater fans think about this person? The comicality of the situation is in the disparity of the level.
@@dymyavalor6135 I said it in the reaction and in my previous reply. The similarities are in the symphonic elements of a lot of Nightwish’s music and the intro to this song. I’m not comparing talent here. Just music styles. But, to each his own. If you don’t hear what I hear that’s cool. I don’t think any less of you for it.

I'm a mega fan of lovebites but i have to say i hate this yngwie like gutiar solo becuase it's so boooooring and nothing is new.
Though I might agree that it's nothing new, I disagree that it's boring.
I like it. It rips. It doesn't have to be "new" to be "good".
