Tenis player which forced me to love this sport forever.... She didnt need power.. She was showing us much more... Skills, brain, tactic, dropshots....SIMPLY MAGICIAN ❤ RADWANSKA FOREVER...
Great match to watch. Pure wizardry. Aga's intelligence on display. Both players giving their best. Such a shame Aga failed to reach the final. Simply run out of energy and had too many injuries to beat Lisicki.
I’ve always felt it was a shame how early Li Na retired. She could’ve gone on to win one or two more slams had she continued playing, especially in 2016-2017. She had a great record against Kerber and Muguruza who were voted WTA player of the year for those two years. I think her and Halep would’ve forged an intriguing rivalry. Her presence certainly would’ve made things a lot more interesting. One of the biggest underachievers in my opinion.
I loved this match so much! Both players played excellent! Omg it annoying me how McEnroe kept insisting for the entirety of the 3rd set that Radwanska took advantage of the medical timeout just to throw off Li's rhythm...first off she already went into the match with 2 taped quads so we already know she might have been struggling with that, plus she has played a 2 and a half hour match the previous day so geez I think she actually needed the medical timeout to get taped up like she did. Also, there was a 30 minute rain delay once Radwanska went up 2-0, so I highly doubt Radwanska's timeout should be to blame for Li going down 1-5. Radwanksa simply handled the delay better is all imo.
Exactly. If she took the time out before last game of the set that would be maybe questionable but most definitely not during in between sets break. It is pretty annoying actually.
In fairness, all three commentators thought it was iffy. Including Davenport, who is generally very fair. And, it definitely changed the match. And I'm a huge Radwanska fan.
Sooooo miss Aga’s refreshingly different tactical style of play. This was a very entertaining match but their obsessive focus on the injury timeout is super annoying! There have been far more egregious and questionable such timeouts and Aga does not have any pattern of abusing this. Maybe her already taped quad actually was bothering her given the long match she just finished playing? Please upload the video with Pam Shriver and PATRICK McEnroe commentating.
Through her whole career Aga never once used a tactical injury timeout, John McEnroe was just judging her by his own standards. Aga won so many matches she on paper should have lost because she was able to get into her opponent's head and make them doubt their own ability.
This was very sad Aga had a huge opportunity to win Wimbledon that year but blew it. Serena, Maria, Victoria the big three lost early. Aga highest seed left beat a top 10 player Li Na. Yet lost to Sabine Lisicki. Aga was two points from Wimbledon final. Great player Aga but a lack of a big weapon cost her a slam.
Aga was through very long two tough matches in a row and simply run out of energy. The same happened to her after a win against Azarenka in AO when she subsequently lost to Cibulkova. It just shows thar she has never taken any stuff (like e.g Sharapova) and because of her demanding style of tennis involving a lot of running
I don't think she blew it. I remember her having a worsening cold towards the final that unfortunately screwed it up for her. She was a serious threat for favorite Serena who did not lose early and won the final.
AGA RADWANSKA IN THE HOUSE! The best female TENNIS tactician known! THIS IS when tennis was TENNIS. AGA RADWANSKA quite literally forced her opponent out of her COMFORT ZONE and that included SERENA. No, Li Na basically won this match. She hit an ace on the first set point 47:00 , judges called it out, they cheated on her. And she won second set as well.

@@bryanmedina1995 i was so gutted for dementieva in that match. She just not mentally tough to win those matches. She deserves to win a grand slam. Same with Safina and Jankovic.
How any commentator could not detect that Aga played the way she did because of pure exhaustion is beyond me. The way she moves between points or even more telling, the way she drops herself down for some shots give soo clear signs. Exhausted legs, no power anymore so only relying on defense and hoping for Li Nas faults. Going on only by sheer willpower... Much lack of empathy on McEnroes side, turning Radwanskas disadvantage and medical problems into some kind of cheating. Very much annoying and heartless.
