Comparing the two top tiers of each brand. Nissan is way behind the Tacoma in the trail hunter package. But there’s also a huge price difference between the two as well
I really Like the more basic simple set up of the Nissan. Less things to go out, and more mechanical. Toyota looks great but there is no way you can work around the jungle of wires and hoses under the hood. Looks like a nightmare and all that extra electronics can't be good over a decade of hard use. Looks good inside except for that stupid screen slapped on the dash! Nissan did theirs right, by integrating it into the dash. Looks properly done, not lazy like the Toyota. So many cars are doing this with just as many complaints from customers who don't like the look. All in all they both have plusses and minuses. In the end I'll go with simplicity and savings at both purchase and long term maintenance and repair costs with the Nissan! Think of all the aftermarket bits I can add to it with the savings I'd get over the Toyota.
Both manual and automatic in Tacoma are failing at very low mileage.
