Completely REPLACING FRANCE as Burgundy In EU4

  • In EU4 Burgundy is overshadowed by the big blue blob France. This time we're changing things up, making a big Burgundian blob, dismantling the HRE, completely replacing the French and basically completely dominating Europe (if you don't mind the huge coalition being formed.. aggressive expansion is just a number)

    32:26 it's not a bug; the imperial incident prevents burgundy from declaring an independence war

    The funny thing with Lotharingia is that if you click the mission, an event will pop for Lotharingia, instead of you just forming it instantly.
    As will all event formable nations (Latin empire for example), this means that you can choose to form a bunch of other nations while the event is sitting, and then click the event afterwards. This lets you, for example, form Sardinia Piedmont (mission for 10% goods produced and 5% admin efficiency), Prussia (Ideas, government form, and some missions), then France (maybe for the ideas, but mostly for the italian missions which give you very good permanent modifiers) in the meantime, and then still lets you form Lotharingia afterwards giving you its missions (including even more permanent admin efficiency). The most insane part is that Lotharingia and France are both end tags, so you get to utilise the missions of 2 end game tags.
    Oh and also, if you're willing to save scum a bit, don't ally Bohemia at the beginning, just royal marry them. You can reroll until they elect someone of your dynasty, and then claim throne and declare on them. Since Austria is rivaled to them 99% of the time, they won't defend Bohemia.

    there's no need to rush cores from tags, you have 150 years. Keep in count all vassals you can obtain with events, you need a lot of diplo slot, you could save 3 diplo slots (and some AE because of Bordeaux). Your runs are good because you do the right moves and your explanations are clear, you are a smart gamer in general, you just need to improve in small details and some mechanics: for example you need to be more cautious with mana and avoid the monthly autonomy change (economy destroyer) penalty with low crownland. About hiring a starting general, you can save the mil points using the estate privilege that let you hire one free every 20 years (+10% influence +1 slot are not a problem because is the equivalent of when was meta to use increased levies every game).
    I repeat: you are smart (a lot of other mainstream youtubers don't use other nations mission trees like you, showing that to newbies is gold), you just need to be more nerdy with mechanics

      I try to balance learning, having fun while playing and also saving time not min maxing the hell out of everything because making the videos takes a lot of time out of my day. On the other hand lots of these mistakes you pointed out also come simply from lack of experience, there's a lot of shit i don't know about the game, but i think i'm improving bit by bit because my first videos that are now deleted were soo much worse honestly.. I appreciate your comment!

    I always play burgundy to become the Netherlands. Just basically a hyper aggressive Netherlands and then start going colonial and it’s easy to get England as PU once you switch over. Another great video broski!!! 👌

    6:25, so the Burgundian monarchy now gives free forts if they border a rival. You actually could have kept some of those fort until England and France were too weak.

    hey, i was wondering if it would even be possible to play EU4 as a moral leader? and which nation would you need to start as to make it successful? what other rules could be added to this list?
    How to play EU4 morally - The Rules:
    - No using missionaries (no religion conversion)
    - Ideally you'd convert to Confucian and then harmonise every other religion or play Buddhist?
    - No culture conversion
    - Try to get Republic or Peasant Republic ASAP
    - Decentralisation not Centralisation
    - Increasing Autonomy not Decreasing Autonomy
    - Play Tall not Wide
    - No Offensive Wars
    - Defensive Wars can't take land, have to take money or release nations.
    - Can only take land if you helped allies and they give you land
    - Vassals & Diplo Annexing may be allowed (depends on if you think its OK)
    - No Colonisation
    - Have to take the most moral event options all the time
    - Help develop & build things in your vassals nations
    - Donate money regularly if possible
    - Accept all rebel demands

    • @GolemEnt
      @GolemEnt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can try something like that with Korea i guess but don't do all the rules, increasing autonomy is already a big L and there shouldn't be a need to fight defensive wars as normally you should be able to get stronger than any AI countries even with just developing your starting lands

    • @tigrecito48
      @tigrecito48 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GolemEnt my idea for defensive wars would be (although ive never tried it and its not technically moral) might be to go full mercenary... try for a good economy.. playing tall, developing going trade and economic, and mercenary ideas.. never having a standing army so you are more likely to be attacked.. allying weak nations that are likely to be invaded.. saving money by not spending on an army and then suddenly building mercenaries when attacked or the ally is attacked.. not sure if it would work?

    • @GolemEnt
      @GolemEnt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never tried such a campaign either so i can't confidently say. Sorry. You could always experiment with it. I guess it could work since the AI would view you as a weak target with no army
