    Nice reaction y'all. I enjoyed the special and your reaction. Couple of things
    -Its pronounced Shoo-tee (Ncuti)
    -nice pick of the 14 and 15 splitting clothes.
    -the UNIT science office in the wheelchair has spina bifida. She can stand and walk but not for too long.
    Anyway keep up the awesome and look forward to the Christmas reaction

      That's why I love our fans here, always sharp-minded and willing to fill us in on the details we missed out on... Many thanks for that, sometimes we miss a few things on first viewing... And yes, the Church on Ruby Road review (which I'm rather proud of, thank you very much !) should be coming out very soon, I just finished editing it...(!)

    I was worried about doctor who this year because of what Disney said but so far I've loved every episode.

      Yeah, me too...! Which sort of added to my confusion during the shoot... That some viewers didn't like them, I'm fine with that, but if you're a fan, at lest that and recognize the qualities that WERE there, I guess was my message...

      @@TheChronomancers whole heartedly agree. Forget the politics and social uproar around it and you'll see it's the same old who that we know and love.

    My theory: The Toymaker said "My legions are coming." I suspect his legions are the Not Things. The Toymaker's realm was outside the universe. The Doctor and Donna were at the edge of the universe, with the Not Things that managed to bleed in. The Not Doctor said they wanted to "play your vicious games". Then the Doctor spilled the salt, weakening the walls enough for the Toymaker to slip through.

      Yes, that is where I'm standing as well right now... I think the Christmas Goblin adventure was a clear indicator that the Doctor has brazenly released 'magic' from the beyond (where the Not-Things come from), and they even hinted at bringing back Vampires : creatures that can do impossible things to us, like using rope magic or floating boats, and that they will come back to haunt the Doctor eventually as the Toymaker's Legion of Evil...At least, I hope so, because it would fit in with all that was revealed in the three Tennant 60th Anniversary specials we've seen... Good deduction !! (At least, that's where I am at as well...)

    This version of the Toymaker gives me 'Q' vibes.

    • @TheChronomancers
      @TheChronomancers  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with that, but (and I'm not being pedantic here, I just find this sort of detail fun !), the original, near-omnipotent Toymaker from the sixties appeared on TV 25 years before Q, and even in comics in the 80's. But yes, obviously, pitting our crew of regulars against near impossible cosmic odds is always a fun trope to bring back in your sci-fi show.. :)

      Oh, I am absolutely not complaining :) Also, I'm hopeful that Tennant is now on the path to being "The Curator", he did say he was going to revisit a few old faces ;) @@TheChronomancers

    I think the happy ending is more than just 14 and Donna having a resolution, it's the final episode of the 2005 revival and the start of a new 2023 revival. So on a way it's a happy ending to the entire 2005 version of the show. After the Christmas special the next episode will be season 1 episode 1. Are you guys going to be reacting to the Christmas special? I hope you do.
    Oh and not everyone hates doctor who. The ratings show it's doing really well. Is it pulling in the same viewers as it used to? No, but TV has changed a lot in the last 18 years. No show today is going to pull in the same ratings as 18 years ago. Unfortunately we don't get the Disney viewing numbers but apparently it's been at the top of some of their viewing figures at times. Doctor who is going to be just fine, the real problem is that people who have a issue with diversity and progress have a louder voice and a bigger audience now.

      What an elegant way of stating things, I would agree with that.
      This is the end of all things Tennant, and closes the old Russel T. Davies era (characters and fandom-wise), with the possibility of Tennant returning, and it is a lovely way to say good-bye to beloved characters and to move along to a new generation, of stories, characters and even fans... I was delighted to see Wilf and Donna again give it their all...
      And I'm glad to hear about the Disney ratings. We don't get to learn much about what's really going on these days, so most of what get filtered through is the anger, frustration and condescension... That seem to be as popular as the Giggle these days... And then we have to search harder to find objectivity anywhere... They do have a loud voice, don't they, but isn't it mostly noise, in the end...?

    • @uhorne
      @uhorne 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea exactly. We don't have the full viewing numbers. Just the cable viewership and those numbers have been pretty high for the current times. The episodes were the 2nd and 3rd most watched when they released. And the drop in viewership between episodes were much lower than many popular shows have experienced.
      So certain online echo chambers are pushing a false message. They can be very loud, but overall they are a small minority. Some of them don't even care about the show. They're just making ragebait content, because it gets viewers, just like clickbait

      @@uhorne (Loud sigh...) Well, here's hoping for a kinder, gentler 2024... I know, I know, wishful thinking on my part but hey, that's sci-fi fantasy for ya... You can always hope !
