I am not sure if it was the creators intention for steven to be "doing drugs" or if the "pills" in this are a metaphor for suppressing your emotions. I think the animatic is actually refering to the fact that Steven kept trying to pretend he didnt have any other feeling than happiness, and wouldn't talk to anyone about his more negative feeling. I am honestly leaning towards it being a metaphore, not steven actually doing drugs. Also I keep seeing a lot of comments on this video saying "dont do drugs". And talking about the song "happy pills" but the thing i want ti make sure to point out is "happy pills" is talking about the fact that they have to take prescribed medication, and how its difficult to feel with out it. There is a big difference between taking street drugs( and medications you arent supposed to)And taking medicine that is prescribed for you. Which is why i wanted to bring uo that "happy pills" is not an example to use against taking medicine. So i agree dont "do drugs" Unless it's medically necessary. There are some times when people need medications for various reasons both physical and mental. It depends on the person. And there may even be times where the medication can have side effects, but ghat doesnt automatically make "taking pills" bad. It depends on if that person can manage their medical situation without medication, and sometimes that is not possible, or a good idea.
