Now there's something you can never hear enough of these days - when a live performance sounds identical to the the recorded version. He's spot on note for note, a lost art with so much of today's music. What's bad is listening to the band play a different version of their own song at a show that everyone knows and loves because of the original version that it was sang in. Fuel was a well tuned band and I love that this guys not getting all fancy with it - he's just giving the people what they want, and appears to be owning it. But then again I am wearing headphones.
***** the only fuel song I knew was that hemorrhage song which I didn't like, but I heard this on a rock station on the way home for work just the other day and ive been in love with the song ever since!
My best friend since we were both 2 yrs old passed in March 1998 at age 21, the same week this album came out. I vividly remember this song playing on the radio on that long drive to his funeral in Vermont. Beautiful song but hurts still to think of my buddy, miss you Josh!
+Dave Robinson Here in Atlanta they were HUGE! Not underrated at all. They played them all of the time on 99X and played here a bunch of times as well. I agree, perfect performance!
Yes they are wonderful live. I missed their sound that's why I'm on Utube. Radio I don't hear them so much. sucks really. Fuel always put me in a good mood. Some of the bands today aren't growing on me anymore. Fuel has lots of great singles. \ m /
Some of my email friends on the West Coast say that Fuel doesn't get talked about much unless it's reminising (sorry for spell error) the 90's and nostalgia. Very good times. I always felt Fuel would be a little underrated over time compared to other bands that get way commercialized. On the West Coast Alternative rock has such a different feel now. I got an email from a lady friend that said she really misses MatchBox 20 being played on radio. Also she loves their live performances. Have a good week.
I've seen a lot of people commenting that Brett couldn't sing anymore by 2003-04, due to damaged vocal chords or a nose injury. This performance looks to be from that era. He sounds pretty good here, and isn't lip-syncing. I saw Fuel live 3 or 4 years ago, was pretty close to the front row. He sounded great.
My best friend and loved this band ..used to jam out air guitar ..saw then in concert twice.. He passed away recently came here for the memories ... Feeling sad AF right now ....thanks ED for being there and showing me good music .. rock on bro...
Long live Bret!! Fuel Shimmer forever! "Can she take me for awhile" - the minute he says this line I'm taken back to the '90's when I first heard this and then I'm gone, just like he sings, from reality, amazing song.
I remember having this show recorded on VHS!!! I’d come home from school and watch it with my guitar in hand to learn the songs! Loved Fuel as a 16 year old kid getting to know all that I could about rock!
Carl Bell is my favourite lyricist ever. I wish I could have him in front of me and just hug him. Fuel's lyrics are absolutely awesome thanks to him. I love you Carl
this is one of those bands that play that certain kind of music that just get you into that good feeling when you hear them play. great band, great song
Classic mid-nineties alternative. Thanks for uploading. . Saw them last past Saturday...AMAZING!! Awesome! I've loved how his voice has held up over the years.
Classic mid-nineties alternative. I can't quit thinking of her... Classic mid-nineties alternative. Thanks for uploading. . I can't quit thinking of her...
I have to admit, I came to this live performance feeling quite skeptical because very few rock bands sound near as good live, but wow, great to see that Brett could sing better live than in studio!
Oh, I think Carl Bell has talent and writes very beautifully. Yet... Brett's voice was simply perfect to sing the songs Carl wrote. Just... the feeling he puts on every song is unreachable. This version of Shimmer simply ROCKS! I love it! I love the whole concert. The Prove version is my personal favorite.
another under-rated band, this performance is perfect I've loved how his voice has held up over the years. Anyone in 2019 I've loved how his voice has held up over the years.
They sound dam good live. Its always a shame to see a modern band sound good on the radio but when they play live its a different story because all of the new audio technology. Fuel still sounds awesome though; pure talent. One of my favorite bands
I disagree. Yes, without Brett, Fuel is not Fuel....BUT saying Brett "IS" Fuel is ridiculous. Who do you think writes the vast majority of Fuel's music??? Just take a guess........CARL BELL. Brett is absolutely the face of Fuel, but songs like Shimmer, Hemorrhage, Sunburn, Bad Day don't just grow on trees. Carl deserves just as much as praise if not more than Brett.

He has h and down some of the the most amazing vocal takent I have ever seen in my 27 years of my existence... Beautiful guys. New album please!!! Make sure not to fade away again! Fuel fucking rocks!
When this band released their first few singles I thought they were ok but I liked heavier music. I seen them play at LRS Fest in Louisville KY and at first I was just going to leave when they came on stage but I decided to hang around just for a few and it ended up being one of the best shows I've ever seen. This dude has a very underrated vocal range and it's something that's hard to pick up on the actual studio albums. When this guy wants to he can really scream with a severe intensity. I know this guy is no longer part of the band and I'm not even 100% sure of the band is still together but I would love to see if this guy is still making music somewhere else.
"It's too far away for me to hold, too far away" Remember when music was awesome...Miss these days. "It's too far away for me to hold, too far away" I like how he gave a James Hetfield "YEAH" just b4 the refrain and after the intro
this is the only guy i ever met when i used to sneak into a concerts as a teen that had me completely star struck. && I met like everyone who was popular back then. Something about being a cute homeless kid made musicians not kick me out when they saw me lurking around. Anyway, when i saw him walking across the arena . I couldnt speak. I couldn't walk closer to him. I was SOOOO in love with him i just stood there. He even came up to me to say "hi" but i just stared. lol.
this is why, it is the way it was.this is truly a great song .i've seen brett at his best and it sounded a lot like this.cape cod melody tent in 08.2000 seats, intimate show, magical.

I agree. Sux when bands sound very different live from studio.
Remember when music was awesome...Miss these days.

90's is the best! 🤘
It still is. You obviously don't listen to music

Very sorry for your loss.
another under-rated band, this performance is perfect

in a world where commercial music (mostly garbage) rules.....people like us have to make a fucking difference. FUEL is a great band

He lip-synced most of the natural selection tour in 2004/5 it’s a shame because he had such an amazing voice.

Gives me goosebumps even when preformed live.
What a damn amazing live performance. I remember hearing this song when I was 15. Such an honor to be able to hear this band in my lifetime.
This video should have at least 1 million views. Come on ma people!
This song has the sickest bass line, lead guitarist Carl Bell is awesome in this as well.
I've loved how his voice has held up over the years.
Good gracious I miss the 90s sometimes.
My favorite Fuel song could lisen to it over and over! Just so good!
It's September 2023 and I'm still listening to this song. Still loving it. MIss this Fuel era.

You know you've done some good in the world when your little kid keeps asking for Shimmer in the car.
Or when after all these years I keep playing it myself lol!
There is something mesmerizing about him :)
I miss this band so much.
It comes from a series VH1 shot at the Experience Music Project in Seattle in 2003 called "The Experience Concert Series" Directed by Zach Nial

Great fucking song from one of the last great 90's bands
hinjurock one of the last great bands. there are no great bands in this generation
My name is Harold I fully agree - the 2000's have pretty much sucked ass so far when it comes to producing great Rock and Metal bands.

I'm captivated by him and he does it effortlessly because he's authentic.
Lol and I'm reading this today thinking the same exact thing. ❤
some people are just made for it....
Brett Is The Man..I believe in every decision he made...
Made the classic list from day one!!!

All that's shimmers in this world is sure to fade away again. You know, I think that's true, and it seems like rock and roll falls into that category.
I'm captivated by him and he does it effortlessly because he's authentic. He doesn't care what the audience thinks because he knows its good.
Watching in 2020, idk why but this hits hard
This is an absolutely rip roaringly awesome song😎
