Thanks for the video. Good stuff. I've used Guitar Rig a couple of times but didn't know about the noise gate and it is very useful to know it. Thanks!
Had this GR5 for about 3 years ... It's a ABSOLUTE BARGAIN at that price. I use it to practise with and into Ableton 9. I love that I can DI straight in without worrying about mics and ambient noise. The big bonus is being able to change the sound after it has been recorded. In the "old days" you would have had to record again mostly. I have the Kontroller 3 midi / expression pedal too but they don't make it any more. Good luck with it!
"Obviously that's fuckin' stupid 'cause you'd never do that." Thats some funny shit. Awesome tutorial. Better than channels that have thousands of subscribers. Allowed me to play with mine right away without wasting time fumbling around. Thanx.
I didn’t realize there was a guitar tuner. I have been researching the best order for your effects chain and Roland and Boss have some good stuff on it. It’s nice to have a template and then you can add the effects in and pick the ones you like.
I'm not getting any input and output signal when I play it in ableton but I get the sound of the effects when Im using the software eithout ableton. Can you help me fix this?
i think you've just proved that it's the player as much as the software that makes the sound. I've seen some GR5 demos that make it sound pretty awful but all of your tones here are excellent. What pickups are you using BTW?
Aum Guitars thanks for the comment! I agree! Tone comes from the fingers, a good guitar and subtle buildup of layers/pedals help too This is a fender tele with S.D p90’s
Pretty concise and informative video but for those new to this type of software, like me, some advice on the initial setup would be helpful. I've got a guitar and a laptop and if I get this product what do I need to connect it all together and make it work? You obviously can't plug your guitar into your laptop so....help!
Charles Edward Renshaw very good point! You need an interface that allows a guitar input. You can use this as stand alone software or run it as a plugin through a DAW. I use the focusrite scarlett 18i8 with Ableton Live. I may do A video that covers all of this when I get some spare time.
@@WeAreGIANTSUK Thank you for taking the time to reply - much appreciated. You also mentioned in your post that there isn't much in the way of Guitar Rig 5 instruction/guidance/advice or how to set it up so I'm sure if you make a video in this regard it will be hugely popular. I've subscribed to your channel so maybe there'll be a notification in the not too distant future - hope so. Thanks again.
Jake that’s how i run my rig usually. Compress the signal then use an overdrive on low gain to push the amp further, eq the amp, then modulation. But there’s no set rule. Whatever you think sounds good dude!
news: THIS IS NOW FREE! Google Native Instruments Komplete Starter and install the NI installer, and with an account you can request the pack off the site. its got 12+ things to download, from samples to plugins like this, and from the installer once logged in you can install this free. just found it from andrew huangs new video =
richard parry the only thing you’ll need is an audio interface. if your macbook is older than 2016, look for an usb audio interface (for example: focusrite scarlett 2i4). if it’s newer than 2016, look for an Thunderbolt interface (focusrite clarret 2pre/ uad arrow?)
I have downloaded guitar rig 5 but it doesn't appear on the ableton's plug-ins list. It happens because it's the demo version of GR5? How it is solved?
Γιώργος Κατρίτσης you need to put the files in your Ableton plugin folder. If you search ‘how to install plugins for ableton’ you should find something that helps.
You have to install guitar rig 5 into a specific folder. Then go into abletons preferences and go to the plugin search ableton will scan your computer for plugins.
Proudmoore Gaming how are you using it? In a DAW or stand alone? What interface are you using? Are you getting any signal showing on the top? Go into the guitar rig software and go to settings, make sure your input is selected correctly
Greew you need to put the files in your Ableton plugin folder. If you search ‘how to install plugins for ableton’ you should find something that helps.
It may be because you’re using the lite version. It’s very limited to what you can do If you go into ‘preferences’ in Live, then look for ‘vst plugin folder’ it’ll show where in your computer folder vst plugins are stored. Make sure it’s saved in this folder. Then on the left side in ableton where simpler, audio effects etc is you’ll see a plugin folder
you just need some sort of Digital Audio Interface i believe. Here's a cheap one www.amazon.com/BEHRINGER-Audio-Interface-1-Channel-UM2/dp/B00EK1OTZC/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2QE2RCV59KIOT&keywords=behringer+um2&qid=1562263235&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=behri%2Cmi%2C160&sr=1-3

The Hutch Music and Video it’s an awesome bit of software! Amazing for the price. Not quite a kemper but still sounds great!

you can also automate the wah-wah in guitar rig by assigning the LFO to the wah wah
How do you do this?

Thanks! Im getting anEpi Ultra 339 and it comes with this software, but your presentation is the only thing current.
Thank you!
Surely you could control the Wah pedal in the plug in with a pedal that has midi out
Thank you for the great demo, and really appreciate your levity/real world profanity! Lol
Any time!
The one liners man 🤣👊
helpful video thanks
Glad it helped

Sounds good mate. What output am I hearing in the tuturial? Speakers?
David DeMaria when i’m talking it’s just my camera mic. When i play it’s the audio I’m recording into the DAW 👍
It doesn't work on my computer, no sound at all :*(
Thank you..
do you know guitar rig? I saw that you can change the tuning , does it work?
so you have your compressor first in the chain followed by your distortion and then your modulation after your amp right? so Comp-Dist-Amp-Mod

Can I use this with a midi keyboard? Or I can only use it for mixing? (I got no guitar)

Yes

How do you plug a guitar into a computer?
You need an interface. There’s loads of different ones available.
Can Guitar Rig 5 Pro installed in Windows 7??
All window can
So i need a guitar for this ?
Yes. It's not a sample library if that's what you're thinking. It just digitally simulates certain guitar amps and effects.
no, its a plugin you can use it on a midi instrument.
do you experience any latency?
gianlukillo check your buffer size in your hardward/audio setting. Lower the buffer size, the less latency.
im strumming my guitar and nothing is happening plz help bro!
