    Jason, do you still have these fenders? And do they make a wide version? Are they removable?

    A tip for easier drilling through sheet metal is to use a Unibit instead of a standard twist drill bit. It won't catch and cause headaches and drills a much nicer and rounder hole.

    They look great but I can't help but notice that the inner fender liners look piece milled together. Wonder if some black paint/powder coating wouldn't make that less noticeable. Of course none of that is your fault, just the design of the kit, and other than that they look great!

    im still not understanding about not getting a lift. metalcloak has a nice lift for about $2200 for that jeep. those fenders front and rear are about $1500 and you wouldn't need them yet if the jeep was lifted. i understand the excitement of getting the 37's but they could've sat in the shop till the lift came in. still your videos are great and i enjoy watching them. can't wait to see the thing in the air already.

  • @rogue109
    @rogue109 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I always thought the stock Jeep fenders being plastic pop-off parts were pretty smart for offroading. 1) They won't transfer much force to the body before the plastic gives. 2) they are plastic so who cares if you scratch them up? 3) They are pretty cheap to replace if you do screw one up. These metal fenders will probably be stronger than the body they are bolted to, so the first time you hit a tree with them, they will transfer all that energy right into your body giving you some major body damage, where a plastic fender would have just broken, cracked or ripped off, either way without damaging your vehicle proper.
    Those metal ones look fantastic, but I would never replace my plastic fenders for metal...just my mantra I guess.

    You ever think about chopping those "wings" off your warn bumper to complete the rock crawler look??

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why yes, after those fenders went on it did occur to me to do that! Good call.

      +autoedit I'm wondering if you couldn't sell the warn bumper and get one from Metalcloak. You could then be one step closer to being "fully cloaked" as they say. Lol. I love this build though! I'm working on a low cog YJ myself. Looking forward for your upcoming videos.

    are you using the metal cloak narrow, standard or wide overline fender flares? and is that a full length front bumper ? Im looking for fender flares for my full length bumper

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are the wide option from metalcloak.

    If you don't break the edges on the holes you drilled the paint may not coat the sharp edges and can crack/chip off

    I may be mistaken but didn't you fender have a light/signal in the front of it? what did you do with the light/wiring? thanks

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just removed the section of the wiring pigtail that went from the harness to the light and zip tied it away. They Make a small LED replacement side marker but I haven't ordered it yet.

    Tell my GF to re calibrate her snapper often! :D Nice front fenders tho I really like the flat fenders with the small LED side markers. Also not a big fan of companies that place their emblem dominantly on product or all parts are not same color (that rear fender piece should be black!). We pay them for parts, not free advertising....heh.

    So the setup you put on is the Overline tube fender and the hi-clearance quick release front flare standard edition?

    Jason I love these videos, the only thing is you don't include how much is the cost of the investment! can you do that?

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I do not mention prices on purpose since they tend to change so I put a link in the description to the product that should be the current price. Plus, sometimes it's not a bad idea to call the vendor and say you saw the video here and ask about any sales or discounts that might apply!
      Thanks so much for watching!

      Simply didn't put them on... that's it. Metalcloak offers led options that fit on the fenders.
