Ben Moss - “The Nightingale” & “Sturdy Oak”

Ben Moss describes himself as “a folk singer rooted in the 21st century”. He’s also Grace Petrie’s ‘best friend’ and accompanist. Before Grace’s set he entertained us with a number of songs from his album, “Lost Lands”, and one new song. I recorded two songs, “The Nightingale (00:07)” and “Sturdy Oak (05:52)”.
What I haven’t included here are any of Ben’s amusing introductions to his songs, explaining his deeper meanings behind his ‘woodland scenes’, and which firmly linked his folk tunes to the issues of the 21st century. It was a truly delightful set.
