    I've been doing martial arts for about 6 and a half years now. I'm about to get my second degree black belt in May. I've been using a bow staff for as long as I can remember. I'm just amazed. I'd love to be able to do that

    • @DavieJonLifts
      @DavieJonLifts 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      don't drean about getting there, if you really want it, you can do it!

    • @AeroBlade12
      @AeroBlade12 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you can do it man, it's all about your mind set. I've only been training for a year and a half, off and on juggling with college, and i'm close to this kids level. You are the bo and the bo is you, never stop figuring out new ways to move the with it. I figured out most of the crazier techniques you see here by accident, just fooling around with the staff - every time i screwed up i tried to remember how the staff had moved. That's why bo is awesome everything is a lesson. Just my two cents :P

    • @DavieJonLifts
      @DavieJonLifts 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      AeroBlade12 completely agree with you, even something as simple as 15 minutes a day can literally make that much of a difference. you just have to find the right inspiration to push on and do it!

    • @heavenlyboy34
      @heavenlyboy34 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been at it (6 ft staff) for 1.5 years. Is this an actual kata or just choreography? It doesn't seem to have much bunkai/kumae bo/sparring-type application. Thanks.

    • @the_fort_fam
      @the_fort_fam  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matvei Vellman This is not traditional or nessesarily aplicable to fighting. This is extreme weapons form or a creative weapon form. It shows a extreme control of your weapon.

    Holy shit this kid has resparked my love of martial arts I to used to practise bo staff I have a black belt in taekwon do and a red sash in ninjutsu from ninjutsu I went into weapons and learnt bo staff I was pretty good still am kind of that was 15 years ago lol my ninjutsu teacher was the best we practiced full Contact we'd get a few dummy ones throw at us to learn the blocks but after it was full punches and if you failed to block that was your fault my sensais philosophy was what's the point to learn to block dummy punches that doesn't happen in real life if some one is out to cause you harm you have to be able to dodge/block and counter in real time which came in really useful once after I split up with my x Mrs and her dad came after me lol he was a big guy he was a warrant officer 1 in the British army and he was a big guy the reason why we split up was bulshit Amy thaught I cheated on her with my best friend Samantha which never happened so I can respect Amy and her dad looking out for Amy coming after me even though that never happened... but he came at me I could see by now he was walking he wasn't gona talk straight to business fighting and I dodged his right grabbed his arm hit him in the neck with my left and took him down into an arm bar with myLeft foot pudding his face away so he couldn't seethe fight which is a self defence tactic my ex Amy called the police and when they turned up they took both her and her dad in not me lol and he got dismissed from his position so yes martial arts are defiantly worth learning they're not just for show

      find an unbalenced bambo stick and throw it around a couple hours a day, it increase your reflexes and ability to determine how the stick will move because it's unbalenced and will surprise you. After a month or two of constant practice go bck to a standard staff, it will seem harder than before at first bu when you finally get used to the strait stick again your reaction time will be faster, because you have trained to respond quicker to the unexpected, it makes it easier to learn new unexpected movements and also helps you learn to use the strait stick more because you are honing your understanding of the equilibrium of the stick.
