The new "Squale-matic" is a tweaked, improved and even bigger souped up version of my favourite diver under $1000, the legendary 1521. With a rich heritage behind the brand, superior quality, robustness and increased depth rating, this new Squale not only is stunningly elegant and vibrant in colour, it is one tough tool watch too!

On the bracelet not having a divers extention. The reason for this is because Squale knows Real Divers would Never wear it on a mesh bracelet while diving. Most Divers myself included have always worn them on a Nato strap or a 12 inch Zulu. Mainly because you wear it over a wetsuit or dry suit and it's far safer as to not lose your watch. The people running Squale now are still in contact with Real Divers and not so much the collecting crowd like us. I just happen to be both a PADI Dive Master certified Diver and I can definitely say a good long Nato strap is where it's at for divers. Hope this helps my friend.
Thanks for showing this brand! I was looking for a colourful diver for the summer. The blue-white version with the Milanese mesh is spot on and has been ordered.
I had previously dismissed this blue-white version when browsing images online but after watching this review I’ve got to admit it looks absolutely stunning and I think it’s going to be my next purchase but first I need to save up as my new Sub39 blue 60 year Squale arrived today which is truly unbelievable
The Squale-matic looks fantastic. If only the size was a bit smaller. The changing colour of the dial is stunning, combined with the orange hand it is just ... WOW!

an example of how color can make a watch look totally different. I used to have no interest in squale watches, but after seeing the new blue white bezel version, it's definately going in my must have list.

Thanks for reviewing that beautiful Squale-matic. The NYC event you were talking about, which you SHOULD HAVE ATTENDED SIR, was worn&wound's free Wind Up show last weekend. I got to see these watches in person tried this piece on. I can definitely pull it off and it's lighter than my Orange Monster. With two pilot watches on the way, I can't afford to spend $1200 on this, though. However, I'll definitely keep an eye on it next year if it's still available. The bezel action is smooth and fun.
The Squale is just stunning - I will be buying the blue dial with the split colour bezel

Wow that baby blue Squale with white on the bezel reminds me of the vintage car colors of the 1950'60's. real nice.
Very good video, great review, thanks for comparing it to the old one.
I'm disappointed Squale didn't update the watch in two sizes. I really think the older size fits the bill for me (small wrists) but I would have loved to see an updated and improved watch in a smaller size.
Anyway, love the bold new look from this company. They are really making the right moves.
I had the change to buy the Dark Blue Atmos 60 for a very decent 2nd hand price, and after learning about the brand (main source this channel) and seeing this review, it wasn't hard to pull the trigger. Pictures do not make justice to the watch, the glimmering effect of the polished dials is staggering, and the depth and richness of colors is second to none. The whole thing oozes with quality. The dome is awesome and from certain angles it looks like there is no sapphire at all, perplexing. With a NATO strap this is about close as real diving as a desk diver like me can get!!

Thanks, Tristano, for turning me into a Squale aficionado. What I can't fathom is how I spent fifty years as a watch geek without ever knowing about this great brand. Too close to the forest to see the trees, I guess. Always fixated on Rolex, Omega, et.al.
Now that my son has given me his 1545 GMT he only has his blue polished 1521 (like yours). I'll have to bug him about the new 60 ATMOS Squale-matic.

Just got a Fortis B-42 Diver. Blued numerals and skeleton hands on an eggshell dial. Day, date. Incredible AR as though there is no glass, great bracelet, would love to see it added to your long list! My favorite of your top 20 is the Breightling Heritage - on my "within-reach" Grail list. Didn't know it was there until I discovered it through you ......so thanks!
At 14:19 minutes in, there is a typo in the Squale catalog. They have 1968 as 1068. Oops. Sorry. I worked in book publishing and these things just jump out at me 🤓

Hey TGV, I was wondering about sales. I saw on Joma shop that there were lots of sales for halloween (today), and I was wondering you would be doing any video's on sales around the holidays. If you could do this, that would be amazing considering that some of the sales were up to 30% off. I'd imagine that the sales would be even better around the holidays. TGV, what is your wrist size? I also have small wrists, ~6.5'. I'm using your wrist as a gauge as to whether or not I should get a Squalematic. I do have the 1521 and it is perfect. I fear that the Squalematic might be a touch to big. Awesome video. Thanks!

wooow this intro man!! Very nice, Squale does blue soo well. But I gotta say, I still prefer the 1521 that you have! I see that one as your signature watch, if there's such a thing lol nice to see Squale showing some love towards you, you definitely put them on the map!

Had my 1521 for a year and it's a great watch and got it on recommendation of tgv , I still like it as much as the first day I got it these new ones look great perhaps a xmas present to myself ! and add to my collection

I wanted to get your advice since i am very much hesitating between the squale 1521 polished black and the 60 matic polished grey.
My wrist is around 18.5cm and unfortunately I cannot try any of the 2 before buying them.
I would go for the 60 but I am afraid it would look too big.
I watched your comparison video but it does not help me to decide; what is your wrist size ?
I usually wear a tag euer monaco caliber 12 and it fits perfectly but it is really a different watch so difficult to compare

Wow. They absolutely nailed the design with the 60 atmos! I already have a 1545, and have been looking at the 101 atmos, but I might have to go for the 60 atmos instead... Decisions, decisions.... In a perfect world I would have them all.

I love my squale 60 atmos. I have the orange and black bezel with the black dial in a satin finish.Unfortunately, I screwed up and bought a squally mesh strap for like $150 from Gnomon watches. I'm definitely going to try the place where you got your🎉🎉

I recently got my hands on a 'new old stock' Orient quartz watch from the 80's, and so far I'm impressed with the quality of these older affordable quartz watches. I highly suggest you get a vintage Seiko type II or King Quartz. These watches have something special.

I LOVE that Caribbean blue Squale, you are blowing my watch budget. Now after watching your review I must have one.But I wont be able to hide that blue from my wife and she will know I bought "another" watch, she will put me back in the dog house

That sapphire dome is a nice touch. Black and orange are great together. but I don't care for the shiny markers on the dial and bezel. Little much bling for my taste. I find it distracting. To big for me as well

Fell in love with the blue version when I saw this on long Island watch video. Too bad it's currently sold out...cant wait to get one when it's in stock again.
Really beautiful! I was very interested in the 1521 but now after seeing this piece I am torn! Its gorgeous. My fiance wants to purchase a watch for me as I just proposed to her and this watch is in the running along with the Junghans Max Bill Chrono or a used Nomos! I know given the occasion it should probably be something more elegant and possibly a vintage piece but its such a hard decision to make! Loving your reviews as always! Thanks TGV!
My perfect frankensquale would be the 50 atmos sunburst blue with the 60 atmos applied indices and lollypop second hand and the 1512 brushed case, on a tan strap...make it happen :) As for the 60s, I'm really digging the black polished.
What a beautiful watch, and now seeing that engraved Squale Master Bronze and Green almost got me thinking that'd be cool to do on mine lol That's a lot TGV ;-)
If I didn't have the Squale Master, I think that Squalematic in Caribbean Blue might be on my list of watches to buy.

hey tgv, the squale is beautiful. The sunburst blue squale is breathtaking. Know from your previous videos that you really like it. A bit out of my price range, but I'm planning on getting a orient ray 2 after seeing some of your videos where you compare it to other watches.

Very beautiful watch . Unfortunately it's gigantic :D . I can't understand why they do not reissue the 39mm (25/30atm) version (like the Page&Cooper special edition) maybe with a different bezel.

I really like the 1521. However, I've read comments about Squale having quality control and customer service issues. Has anyone else heard this?
I heard of a few things last year due to overwhelming demand, but from my personal experience I can say it has vastly improved since then. Good question, thank you.
