I don't even own one of these type of trucks. I watch your videos because your instruction and approach in diagnosing is so clear. Thank you for another great video.
Another great video. Thanx…I am dreading the first time my 6.0 doesn’t start, but you and dieseltechron and Fordtechmakuloco are such great sources…and you have a lot of very practical real world outlooks…like the battery dead scenario from trying to start it out in the road. Great insights.
Hey man. Excellent informative videos. I have SO much $$ tied up into my 06’ 6.0, I couldn’t sell it seven if I wanted to. I’ve bee a mechanic since I was 13 and I’m 56 now. Never owned a diesel, much less a 6.ohno! I love working on it, but it seems like I do that more than drive it! But I haven’t driven it in over a year now cause I got sick of it. Into it for roughly $25k. I can start it with ether only and it seems to run fine. Last year I replaced the stand pipes and dummy plugs. Glow plugs on both sides. and nipple cups. Well cups and o- rings on the pass side, because I found a torn o- ring. Ran perfectly so I put it back together and it was fine. Now it’s has me at my wits end! I unhooked my stereo and plow and it seems to have a draw, cause my 3 year old NAPA Batts are always dead. I bought a new IPR and a I have the new HHC cups for the drivers side. I’m going to try and just replace them and all of the filters this week! I’m going to try my best to get this done. Just my problem is I fell off a rooof and broke my back, so it’s hard to lean over the hood or get under the dash etc. My question is, why wwill it have a cold and hot no-start, but will fire right up with starting fluid and run fine? Id really appreciate a response if you have time.
Great vid. I did everything in the video, every step passed. Problem started when my batteries were dead and I tried to jump start it with 200amp charger function. It didn't work as suspected so I let it charge over night. Next day it would just crank and crank. No codes. It makes mild signs of firing up but if you stop turning the key it will die. I was able to get it to run pressing the gas pedal but it sounded weak and would die once you let off on the pedal. I ended up unplugging the ebp sensor to see if I could get a code to show up. Tried to start it and same thing but this time I smelled electrical burn and now I have high injector circuit code for 4 injectors on one ficm bank X1. Also now no injector clatter. Pulled ficm and the logic board has chipsets fried. So installed new one and now clatter is back but back to square one unable to start. Also installed a new fuel pump. Seems electrical based. I checked all the fuses and the ficm relay.
Going to be tackling a crank no start on my brother's 6.0 in the morning. I know Subarus, helicopters, EVs and Duramax. No experience with PSD. Really appreciate you putting this info out there in such a concise easy to follow format.
Most informative video I've seen I have a 7.3 but it is so close it hurts. Thanks, and keep up the good videos. 7.3 500+000 miles and 23 years old 1999.
Thanks for the video-great watch.. not sure if your still looking at comments but thought I would ask... 03 6.0 stumped no start.. scangauge tells me everything's in spec.. it wants to catch but just cant get there.. it all began with a completely dead gas pedal.. ? it was running good then peddle faded away to zero reaction ... it was also leaking so tossed an ICP in it.. fired up ran for 1 minute pretty well... still had dead peddle.. then went to heavy miss then quit .. last it ran... burning a hole in my brain... thanks Dave...
Nice videos I’ve seen so far. I’m working on my 2004 6.0 recently got the bulletproofed, egr cooler, studs new heads, they did the blue spring ect. It only ran about 20 miles and now I have a no start. Originally I took the cover off the ficm and had 48v but no injector clatter. I had my wife crank the truck while checking the 48 volts it stays solid. I reseated the pcm, ficm plugs and checked accessible plugs still no clatter. Then when I tried messing with the hard to get icp wiring just above the transmission. I plugged everything back in the clatter is back. Not 100% sold it was that sensor or wiring. I have a Foxwell nt201 but I’m not getting any codes which seems odd. While diagnosing the no start I opened the fuel filter on top of the engine. I’m not getting bubbles back but when it is priming I’m hearing almost like air coming out of the cap. I tired a new cap and oring same thing. The fuel filter is oem also. Maybe I’m not letting the motor prime long enough and air is in the system? Although I did key it over 10 times with out starting it for extra priming. I finally cranked it 30 seconds and I see the oil gage move half way or more. While cranking it sounds uneven like low compression in cylinder but that’s new after the clatter came back. I believe that’s just some cylinders trying to fire and others not. I’m planning on keep this truck a long time it only has 92k miles on it. Any thoughts? And what would be the best all around scanner to see if I’m getting everything I need like, crankshaft, camshaft monitor, icp ect. I’m not really seeing any of that on mine. I’m trying to not have to tow it down to them even though it could easily be some of the work they did. Thanks, Dave
I really appreciate your video. I went through each step you suggested checking all with my scan gauge 2. Injector chatter was quick and sounded good in the beginning. Everything passed with no codes. I even unplugged the icp and it still would not start. (Ron showed that trick in one of his videos) Still truck will not start. I ran the batteries down trying to get it to start, then the injector chatter got slow. I quit at this point so I can charge the batteries back up. They are new by the way. Motorcraft 850 amp each. I don't know what else to do. Anything else you can think of before I have to call a tow truck and have it taken to the Stealership?
@In The Shop I live in a remote part of Arizona in the White Mountains and am completely stumped and have tried every video I can find. Do you have telephone service or tech advice. It's critical
Thank you for your video. I enjoy your explanation and expertise! I have had to replace my high pressure oil riser rods 8-10 times now over the last 2years! I just got them replaced again about 2-3 months ago and I am back to the super long cranking to start and getting to the no start point really fast. Is there something that is causing this to happen ie. too high pressure vs just blowing the gaskets on the bottom of the rod each time? I have used several different brands including oem. I’ve used 2 different mechanics and myself this last time
Love your videos, helped me a lot..here in germany these trucks are very rare, not to mention mechanics who are qualified to work on these engines..keep it up!!
I’m a school bus mechanic. We got rid of all our internationals with the 6.0 several years ago because of so many issues. Still have a few 7.3s. Great video with tons of good diag info! Great job👍
Great video. I know you said this should cover most of You with a Crank no start. I'd like to Add one more. 5v to Ground. Had wiring harness near fan just behind radiator that grounded due to rubbing.
Another issue I've found is a faulty ICP sensor that sends a lower than actual reading to the ECM. Unplug it and try to start. If it starts then you have HPO, but an incorrect reading from the ICP to the ECM could be bad sensor, faulty wiring, etc.
Thanks I am looking for a 4wd diesel and am gathering info. I work on my own vehicles a lot. But when its out of my league I take it to the professional. If you were around Cincinnati I would head your way. Last mechanic I tried was an independent shop. Which is what I shoot for but he sucked.I had to fixed things he hacked. Jeff
Hi, greatly appreciate the info. I have a 2007 550, with a crank no start no smoke condition. I did find water in the fuel, Flushed and cleaned the tank replaced filters twice. Still no start.
Yes I have. I also found out that there was a Napa oil filter cap with a puralater oil filter. I have motorcraft cap and filters on order. I also ordered a test kit for HPOP to test for leaks and a test kit to check fuel pressure. I’m new to the 6.0 and have just got this truck. I’m looking a different scan tools a to see what to buy.
2004 f250 6.0. Driving fine down freeway 65mph. Just stoped running. No pedal response, now it just cranks over fine and won’t start. No indication of want to start while cranking over. Batteries are full charged,Fuel level just under half tank. Put 5gal fuel, still no start.
Hello I'm so impressed that I need an expert opinion, history, 6.0 of course 2004, had a bad hpop, I changed it, a OEM pump went bad after 6 months, changed again, 256,000 miles on truck, had a injector went bad, I replaced all injectors with one injectors, ran good for awhile, one of the new injectors blew a top o ring, clip broke, replaced injector, 6 months ran great, then another crank no start, (note no low oil pressure, oil filter housing not filling, checked relief valve for low side , no metal, took to a shop, they said several injectors bad, new ones less than a year old, he changed all 8 injectors, yes lots of money, truck still will not build low oil pressure, besides the relief valve what can I check next, I got shafted for 4500.00 and till a crank no start
Your videos are awesome. I recently purchased a 2005 F-250. Ran like a champ, until it didn't. I literally, filled up the tank with fuel, drove home, parked in my parking space and shut off the truck. Forgot I needed to jump my tractor so I restarted the truck and lo-and-behold it was missing with white smoke. Hooked up my OBDII tester and am getting: P0113 P0231 P0263 P0266 P0336 P0674 P0676 Next morning, No start. My diagnoses is 2 bad injectors and 2 bad glow plugs, along with the IAT sensor. P0231 has me worried about the fuel pump... The relay and fuse are fine. What do you think?
I have a 2006 with a crank no start shooting a p2623. Doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold. It’ll crank no start at random times. When it’s running it’s perfectly fine. Do you think this could be an electrical issue instead of mechanical?
Glad I found the chanel maybe you can help I got an 05 350 crank no start and no clatter at all now it does crank sometimes even without the clatter and runs just fine but other times just crank and no start I have replaced the relay also the board inside the ficm and still having the same issue can you please help also I have 2 trucks should I invest in a scanner I try and fix my own vehicles if I can and thanks in advance
Love your videos. I have a 06 F550 6.0L If I drive it a short distance or long distance once I turn it off the engine will not start for and hour. It is not overheating any suggesions ?
Thanks for the video man love the channel. Our plow truck is a 6.0 and it won’t run, I’ll be into it in another month or 2 here. Were you able to get your shop truck fired up yet?
It needs a high pressure oil pump. I’m going to be doing a whole series on intake manifold removal and each individual job related. I didn’t want to put the repair on this video.
Good vids, great info as everyone else is sayin! I have a 6.0 F450 2008 I put brand new batteries, but it still struggles to start and then turns over. What could it be? Thanks
Great video thanks but i have 2006 f350 had bad fuel then bad FIMC now still will not fire up showing codes for glow plug circuit 3,5,&7 any suggestions
Start by testing the glow plugs. You can do a simple test by unplugging the 4 pin glow plug harnesses, clipping a test light onto the positive battery terminal and touching the test light to each pin on the harness to see if the glow plugs have a good circuit.
I have a O4 F250 6.0 L I have a no start issue right now. It completely cut off when I was driving and won’t start back up. It’s reading codes PO231, P2614, P2617 Cam sensor, crank sensor, Low fuel pressure. The oil is good, there’s fuel, I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. I checked the fuel filters they were fine. I checked the 20 amp fuse it was fine. Fuel reset switch was fine. Fuel is not getting to the filters, it wouldn’t fill up the one under the hood it was just spitting in it and the one under the truck. So I am not exactly sure. I replaced the FICM A year ago. From watching your video I think it could quite possibly be either the camshaft sensor or fuel pump. But I’m not exactly sure I don’t wanna throw money down the toilet. What do you think?
@@InTheShop I couldn’t find any cracks or leaks in the fuel lines. Another thing is it was sitting for a year. I had driven about 600 miles before it cut off and the incident actually happened. I have a feeling it’s the fuel pump but I don’t like to go on feeling when it comes to this truck. There’s also a fuel pump in the gas tank. But I can hear that one kick on. So idk.
04 6.0 died while driving. Did start back after long crank but idled very low.towed it home now just crank no start..pulled misfire on all cyclenders.new ipr new icp new fuel filters and pump.now it throwing glow plug open circuit or relay.it does have a little white smoke and smells like fuel.plz help tired of chasing codes and throwing money at it.i love this truck
Nice video thanks . I have 3 codes PO265 PO268 PO274 I put new batteries changed the FICIM Power and plugged in the scan gauge, I have sync 1 , IPR 44.7, FPW 2296 FICM 48.5, ICP 1560 . My truck has 53000 miles on it I bulletproofed the truck in 2011 with 23000 miles on it blue fuel spring new heads and bolts , built high pressure pump, just went though the fuel injection harness no issue what would you recommend thanks Dave
Not long ago I spent a ton of money replacing 2 batteries, fuel pump, ICP, IPR, high pressure oil pump and all 4 left bank injectors. The truck, 2003 F-250 , 6.0 power stroke ran very well f for about 3 months. Now, it cranks and runs fine when starting cold. After it runs a while, it won't crank. All work was done professionally. I give up. I will not spend another dime. I have it for sale. Any ideas that I might pass on to a prospective buyer? I wish I would have kept my 97.
03 6 litre hard cold start. 5-7 hits on the ignition then starts. Runs and starts good for the rest of the day. If left for the day it starts the same way as first thing in the morning 5-7 hits. What you think
Hi this Jason I have a 2005 Ford f250 6.0 was driving down the road and just quit I have went through the steps and all of the things are good so what else could it be
let me say thank you and i have a question and would like your opinion i do not have a scan tool and do not know much about these 6.0 engines but mine was running fine and i came up on a red ligght it died on me wouldnt start back the guy at the small town garage where i was squirted a little eather and it started back up then i turnee around and headed to my home 3 hours away i made it almost all the way back home and had to stop at another red light it died again and i had it wowed home it is cranking good and strong and has new batteries will not fire up and idea on what could be the problem ?
Aloha Nathan, it's Wayne's Sushi Fresh Off the Boat from las vegas. Maybe you can help. I have a 05 f250 6.0 no start usually in the morning. After trying to start 2 to 3 times, I'll take the batteries to auto zone to make sure they're fully charge. Install and it start right up. 9 out 10 ti is it start. Well on the 10th time it won't start. Around the 7th time I charge the batteries I took the truck power stroke performance and their diagnosis was glow plugs harness and module and gave me an estimate of $1800 just from scanning with computer. Need help? Can you recommend a trust worthy mechanic that knows what to look for here in Las Vegas the 9th Island.
I love your video but I have one major problem I am very limited on resources,no code reader much less the one that will do the injector Buzz test and show sink or not I was driving my truck just shut off out of nowhere I checked the oil first thing and it was a gallon low. I did oil change make sure the oil is going to the filter. Now it takes around 10 seconds of cranking before oil pressure gauge rises but no start. Is there some trick to getting the hoop going again after the shutdown or a process to restart after ran low on oil?
I just watched your video on 6.0 no start . I have a 2003 with a 6.0 that I have a crank no start . I have scanned it an it shows no sync . I noticed that the tech Is not reading RPM . I have changed the crank and cam sensor, replacing both pig tails to both sensors and own wiring harness from both sensors to PCM and from PCM to FICM . I still have no SYNC. Any suggestions .
Hi great video!! I have 04 6.0 powerstroke everything checks out, but will crank and no start with black smoke, it feel like it wants to start but nothing,, plz any help would be really appreciate ?
luv the videos, off subject question. what is the purpose of dual alternators ? i have a 2004 6.0 can it run on just one alternator?

Truck just had dummy plugs , icp and stand pipe replaced. Because no start issue. 2 weeks later drove to work engine started surging I shut it off . I came back out at lunch crank but no start. Sprayed a quick shot of starting fluid and it started . I drove it 20 miles and died again. Code 2285 I changed the irp but still no start even with starting fluid. Any ideas?
Very good video. I have a weird problem. My 2006 started suddenly having extreme injector noise at idle. At exactly 1150rpm, the noise went away and ran fine on the highway. I got it home as it was not far away. It was time for some maintenance, so I changed the oil, oil filter and fuel filters. No change. Changed the icp sensor. No change. Took the ipr out and it had dirt/clay stuff in the screen. I changed the screen, o rings, and cleaned it. No change. I purchased a new ipr. Now, the truck won't start. The truck passes the individual buzz test, and the scanner only reads bad glow plugs on 4 and 8. When I had the ipr out the first time, I had my neighbor crank the engine to "flush" the oil galley out a little. Oil was coming out in spurts. Any ideas where to go now? Thanks so much!
I replaced that front fuel pump. And right after that it still read po231 fuel pump secondary circuit Low voltage, And then it threw a ficm code P1378 we tried to jump it but it wouldn’t jump, battery wouldn’t hold a charge, and their brand new batteries. But why didn’t the ficm code come up to start with? So I really don’t know what to do. It makes me think I put that fuel pump on for nothing. Now it makes me think it’s the ficm, but I can’t keep throwing money at it. It’s $740. What is your advice.
My 06 won't start, batteries are new, ficm voltage is 48v, icp pressure is over 500. It was fine a few days ago but now my rpms while cranking are reading extremely low even though the engine is cranking fast. It for sure seems like the crank shaft sensor is bad but I wanted your opinion. Thank you
Good afternoon, I just bought my F-250 a couple of weeks ago. Over the last week I noticed that the truck was slowly taking longer to start every time I got it in. It sat over the last four days and when I went to start it up it wouldn't start. I checked the batteries charged both over night, still won't start it sounds like it's turning fast enough, I'm thinking it's a fuel issue. Where should I start?
Not getting fuel just replaced the fuel pump under the driver door frame rail is there a one in the fuel tank all so on the earlier 2004 super duty 6.o?
Yes , went through all the steps , it still would not, and still can't get it to start. After I got it all the way down to block I just happened to look at filter housing for the oil and the by pass anti drain valve was broke over and smashed part in the hole it supposed to close off and part out. Would this filter housing not being able to fill up. And stay full keep my 2005 ford f250 from starting.
Hi my van seem to have all the right numbers..2006 and blue spring upgrade installed...but it still wont stay running...i fint think fuel is reaching the injectors...but it wit run momentarily with idiot juice.... once on a nice day it did start on its own
I do enjoy your videos. Lots of good info. I do need you input on a problem I am having. I have a 05 excursion 6.0 I was having an external coolant leak from the head gasket. Truck was running perfect before the repair and now I can't get it started. Any ideas as to what direction to go? While cranking I have well over 500 psi on the hpo. 84.8 Percent ipr. 48 volts ficm. Problem I see is dtc set all injectors low voltage circuit. Where to go from here? Any ideas?
Hi have a 2005 ford f250 diesel and the codes that its giving me is low voltage but the battery are fully charged even tried hooking up jumper cables to another truck and see if its just the batteries not putting enough out and still the same low voltage codes im not to sure what im doing wrong or what direction to go next if you could maybe point me in the right direction or give me some ideas on what im not doing id appreciate it just kinda stumped. Thanks
Disregard my last question. The reason if would not run is because we had lost syn. I solved that problem. It is running now. However, I still only have 0.4% IRP. When I start the truck the engine turns over long than it should. I just put a turbo on it this week before I put the turbo on we had 14.9 IPR even when I drive it the IPR only goes up to 1.7 Any suggestions. Thanks
I have an 04 6.0 powerstroke that crank no starts. It was running fine and all of a sudden it would only idle and now won't start. I have replaced the fuel pump, IPR valve, new filters. I get 50 psi of fuel at the bowl, when cranking I get ICP pressure of 577 to above 800 when cranking. Icp Voltage is .25 KOEO and .82 when cranking. Engine RPMs are over 200. FICM has 48 volts. I have cleaned the EGR valve. This truck will fire and die almost immediately or will fire up and idle at around 250 to 300 rpm and then die. While Idling it has ICP of around 800. There has been no codes thrown at all during all of this. I have unplugged the ICP and tried to start it and it does the same exact thing. Do you have any wisdom to impart on me for a direction to go?
what causes the 2004 f 250 power stroke to make multiple clicking sound but no crank when both butterias are strong showing 12,66 volts and starter relay is working needless to say starters is brand new replaced few mouth back and cables look good. ifthere is a starter solenoid besides the one our the starter itself where would it be locaterd?if you may be able to show me that I'd really appreciate it.
My wtres was melted together around turbo I changed it now want start never had problems with truck before just common things like alternative ones and changed batteries have over 400000 miles 2006 6.0 it's says no sync I change both sensors
Hey man quick question just replaced hpop in the shop and put it back together and now it almost wants to start but still no start.has a code for the #8 injector and thoughts
I have a 2006 f250 6.0 was driving down the road pressed on my breaks and my truck died like I turned off the key , wouldn't start but would turn over fine and fast waited 2 hours and still wouldn't start . Got it towed home and this morning went outside and it started seems like it's running fine shook wire harness around to see if it would die , reved it , moved it , hit the breaks , and it still stayed running. started hot fine and cold like normal . Fuel pump makes a slight crackling noise randomly when key is on but I'm not sure if that's normal Only codes I had were P0611,P0528,P0480,P2623 on my scanner when running it reads Hg pressure 29.1 Volts between 11.48-13 Command gear 1.0 Engine load 43.9-36.4 Ficm injection between -13 -11.5 Ficm main between 13-11.5 Ficm main 54.5v Icp duty cycle 0.28-0.26 Do you have any ideas what I can do to test it further so I don't get stranded 😅
E450 6.0 van crank no start. Only builds 300psi icp. Ipr while cranking won’t go above 14%. 12 volts going to it. Installed new ipr same issue. Raise ipr duty cycle with scanner to 84% truck builds 1400psi icp but still no start. Everything else checks perfect.
I replaced the hpop, icp, ipr, ebp, radiator, oil cooler, degas bottle, egr delete, 2 brand new batteries and the list goes on. I get a crank no start the other day. I have an innova 5610 scanner and it throwing the icp-low pressure code. I have a 2004.5 so the icp is on passenger side. I pull it, no oil going through the sensor. I try to start with icp unplugged. No start. So I go through the nightmare of removing the ipr. The screen is lodged inside the port to the hpop. What do I do? Get a pick and carefully try to remove it? I’m thinking there was some debris from the replacement of the oil cooler. I also don’t want to pierce the screen as I’d like to be able to see any damage. The spring inside the ipr is good, just wondering what the best way is to go about dislodging that screen. Thanks man. I always get good info from your videos.
Great Videos!! Is appreciate if you could give me some insight on whats going on w/ my 6.0. Ive put So Much money into this truck and Im moving soon. Will only start with diesel starting fluid, either hot or cold. My alarm and stereo stopped working. Ive disconnected my plow completely (I live in NH) but I only used it once!!Im a mechanic by trade, but not with diesels. About to pull thee oil rail off the left side( already did stand pipes and dummy plugs on the right side and found a torn o-ring on a nipple cup. I stopped there and it ran great for about 8 months. I bought a Scan Gauge but it’s a bitch to program.
Love the video bud I own 4 6.0s if you could give me advice on one its and 04 but mfdate was a 07/03 year I'm haven a hard time locating the dummy plugs
I have a 2003 6.0 powerstroke that won't start from the ignition. I have a wire running from the starter to the battery for now to start it. Starter, ignition and neutral safety under the steering column have been replaced. Any ideas? Thanks! I think I just requested to join your fb forum group.
A few quick things to check first. Do your reverse lights work? Also have you tried to start it in neutral? After that I would option a wiring diagram and start at the fuses and work your way towards the starter.
Hi there.i have 03 6.0 don't start.i replace the ipr and icp still don't start the fuel pump is working.if I put some starting fluid his star.i guess is the hi oil pressure???
Hey man I have all the codes and they seem to be all electrical but I don’t know what to replace exactly? It cranks but it doesn’t start and it has low Rpms I couldn’t even start it with starter fluid
How are you? I have an 2006 F550 I was driving it on the Hwy and all power shut off. It crank but want start. When you spray a little of starter fluid in it it starts up until it burns off. So i replaced the crank sensor, cam sensor, IPR, put 2 new filters on. Replaced so fuses as well have 2 new batteries with new batteries head connector as well and no start. I was thinking it could be my FICM. The truck only has 152 thousand miles on it. Can you help me out please I need to get back to work and I need my truck. Its 2006 F550 6.0 power stroke turbo Diesel.
Hi I have an 04 6.0 power diesel an the truck runs fine but when you drive it for a while an turn it off it will not turn on Intel the next day.. what could be the issue can help ....?
Hi Jaun, it sounds like you have a high pressure oil leak causing a no start until the oil cools down and thickens back up. I have another video specifically for high pressure oil leak Diagnosis.
Awesome video! Hoping that you are able to answer a question for me! I have an 05 f350 6.0, crank- no start. Dealership told me to put a FICM in it so I did and it’s the same. Crank- no start, it through codes for all 8 injectors for circuit low. Have you seen this before? I have a tuner that will read codes and allow me to read some gauges like injector pressure, which while cranking will reach up to 1,100 psi but won’t start. Mechanic hooked a computer to it and said that the high and low oil pressure was fine. I’m just wondering if the problem could be electrical or fuel related, or both? I’m glad I found you channel! Hope you are able to provide some type of feedback
Need help ASAP I’ve been messing with my 2004 6.0 since back before winter a shop was supposed to have put a new hpop and I myself have put on a new turbo, new ebp sensor, map sensor, icp sensor, 155 warren diesel injectors, ipr sensor, updated dummy plugs and stand pipes a new ficm and new oil rails and it still isn’t running right the ipr Max’s out right off the jump and the ICP pressure won’t hit but 300 and it just isn’t making no sense I’ve took it to every shop around and can’t nobody figure it out me and my buddies been working on it for months at the shop and still can’t get it it had a hot no start and would always fire back up off a small sniff of ether sometimes going down the road it would shake real bad if you gave it gas but would chill out if you stomped it to the floor it runs out of gas at a quarter of a tank and dies sometimes even when it’s full I will be at the shop working on it in the morning so please let me know any idea you can think of
If egr delete and the mass air senor is not used, how can i get agood reading on my scanner, that's the only two that's showing up, which i knew would, does that mean those two are the only ones?
Hello i got a 6L problem 06 studded egr delete head gasket. I crank between 10 to 20 seconds then wait 10 mins to let starter cool down try again im getting oil pressure about 8 seconds im getting smoke out tail pipe. I scanned truck ipr good icp good ficm good i pulled fuel cap diesel was full oil was filling bowl. I just rebuilt this motor from 03 to 06 with updated high pressure pump but no fire i tired ever 10 mins for 5 hours truck tried to kick
Hey I have a 2004 f250 super duty 6.0 power stroke engine and I have to spray starting fluid in it to start it…I’ve changed the MAP sensor and ICP sensor and still it’s doing the same thing…so I just ordered a turbo, HPOP, and ipr valve sensor…do u think this would fix the problems 🤔
I don't even own one of these type of trucks. I watch your videos because your instruction and approach in diagnosing is so clear. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks Rafael!
Glad I found your page! Sucks because I’m dealing with a mechanical issue but thanks to you she’s rolling.
Excellent video. I've been a truck mechanic for over 40 years and this is one of the best descriptions of how a powerstroke system works.
No complaints here about the video length...you are a good instructor...I'm in my shop working anyway, who cares how long it is.
I appreciate that! I'll keep them coming!
Man these videos are great a lot of good info. Finally someone who knows these 6.0s and fords
Thank you Ryan!
Great video, lots of detail and ideas on what to check for in my current no-start 6.0 predicament. Thank you!
Excellent presentation, you opened my eyes you're the greatest I ever seen on internet. Thank you, you're the greatest !
You just saved my life I had four injectors stick on me and had already threw a lot of new parts at it thank you
And this is why I run a Scangauge always and check it often!
Nice information. Diagnosing is better than being Always tempted to throw parts “because it happened last time.”
Its commonly done on these trucks. In my mind they are just too expensive to fix to just guess and hope you are right.
Good stuff ! I love my 6.0 ,so the knowledge is appreciated!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks,
Dave
I’m looking for a scanner that gives me codes and basic monitoring
@@davidmoore1424 what was the problem?
And I do like your knowledge, you spit a lot of gold sir, thank you.
This dude is a blessing
Much respect. Great effort put into this video. So much info. Thank you!
Thank you man this really help me in the right direction.
Your videos are very helpful. And have help me. Thank you for all the helpful information and keep up the great work. Thank you again.
Thanks for the lesson. So easy to understand and very detailed. Thank You

i can't believe you only have 24k subscribers. excellent video here
Thank you!
@In The Shop I live in a remote part of Arizona in the White Mountains and am completely stumped and have tried every video I can find. Do you have telephone service or tech advice. It's critical
Awesome video just got a 2003 F-250 my first diesel trying to learn as much as possible thanks for the detailed information will help me alot
How many miles are on yours Mark? I’m in the same situation
@@bradleymaddy7380 450000km it's been in a shop for 3 mouths now and the mechanic still can't figure it out
Tell your mechanic to jump the wire from cranshaft senor to the computor, do the same with the cram sensor
This is awesome to hear that I'm helping people around the world.
Very helpful information
Great explanation!
Well done

@@InTheShop a buddy brought me his 07 Ford f250 super duty 6.0 it almost starts but does not.
I’m a school bus mechanic. We got rid of all our internationals with the 6.0 several years ago because of so many issues. Still have a few 7.3s. Great video with tons of good diag info! Great job👍
Thank you Aaron!
Great video. I really appreciate the detailed explanations.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Justin.
Great video. I know you said this should cover most of You with a Crank no start. I'd like to Add one more. 5v to Ground. Had wiring harness near fan just behind radiator that grounded due to rubbing.
Thanks Mike! That is another good one. Also common is the fan wiring chaffing then blowing the PCM fuse.
Jeff
I got a 05 f250 for sale 4×4 I'm 2nd owner
I just subscribed I'm having trouble with a crank no start but it starts with starting fluid
Hi, greatly appreciate the info. I have a 2007 550, with a crank no start no smoke condition. I did find water in the fuel, Flushed and cleaned the tank replaced filters twice. Still no start.
Have you run through the other possibilities I went over?
I hope you go to million subscribers soon you’re videos are super
Hello I'm so impressed that I need an expert opinion, history, 6.0 of course 2004, had a bad hpop, I changed it, a OEM pump went bad after 6 months, changed again, 256,000 miles on truck, had a injector went bad, I replaced all injectors with one injectors, ran good for awhile, one of the new injectors blew a top o ring, clip broke, replaced injector, 6 months ran great, then another crank no start, (note no low oil pressure, oil filter housing not filling, checked relief valve for low side , no metal, took to a shop, they said several injectors bad, new ones less than a year old, he changed all 8 injectors, yes lots of money, truck still will not build low oil pressure, besides the relief valve what can I check next, I got shafted for 4500.00 and till a crank no start
awesome video dude ... big thanks! tons of info
Thank you!
Hey, thanks for all your knoi, I'm getting the clatter, but not the injector sound, what you think, thanks j.t
Hooked up my OBDII tester and am getting:
P0113
P0231
P0263
P0266
P0336
P0674
P0676
Next morning, No start. My diagnoses is 2 bad injectors and 2 bad glow plugs, along with the IAT sensor. P0231 has me worried about the fuel pump... The relay and fuse are fine.
What do you think?
wire shorted from the crankshaft or cram sensor to the computor
U my friend are the best! 👍
Great info!! Chasing this as we speak.
Thanks Rod! Sounds like you have a high pressure oil leak. I have another video that covers exactly that. th-cam.com/video/CXd7vhlcaYg/w-d-xo.html
@@InTheShop Thanks
Thanks for the video man love the channel. Our plow truck is a 6.0 and it won’t run, I’ll be into it in another month or 2 here. Were you able to get your shop truck fired up yet?
It needs a high pressure oil pump. I’m going to be doing a whole series on intake manifold removal and each individual job related. I didn’t want to put the repair on this video.
Good vids, great info as everyone else is sayin!
I have a 6.0 F450 2008
I put brand new batteries, but it still struggles to start and then turns over.
I have a O4 F250 6.0 L
I have a no start issue right now. It completely cut off when I was driving and won’t start back up. It’s reading codes PO231, P2614, P2617
Cam sensor, crank sensor, Low fuel pressure.
If it’s not filling the fuel bowl you have a fuel issue. Start by making sure none of the lines are cracked and sucking air.
Have a crank no start hot. Mechanic replaced icp sensor charged me $450, and soon as I left it did the same thing with the same code.
Does an 03 engine use different pcm then 04? I did swap and cant get it to fire?? Please help
The programming in the PCMs are different
Check fuel pressure.
Ok , I will check it ! Thank you
luv the videos, off subject question. what is the purpose of dual alternators ? i have a 2004 6.0 can it run on just one alternator?
Forgot this. The ficm showed 48.2v while running.
Have you checked fuel pressure?
Working on a 6.0 for my father will start and fire while cranking but as soon as I let go of the ignition it dies. Any idea were to start
That could definitely cause a no start.
Any ideas?
broken wire, mechanics during repairs will try and squeeze parts out of the motor and in the process damage wires.
I have a ethos edge and will it do the test yoy were talking about?
Thanks
Problem solved. For some reason my scan Gauge was not giving me accurate information. I hooked up my dash-boss and received the proper reading.
Fuel pump makes a slight crackling noise randomly when key is on but I'm not sure if that's normal Only codes I had were
P0611,P0528,P0480,P2623 on my scanner when running it reads
Hg pressure 29.1
Volts between 11.48-13
Command gear 1.0
Engine load 43.9-36.4
Ficm injection between -13 -11.5
Ficm main between 13-11.5
Ficm main 54.5v
Icp duty cycle 0.28-0.26
Do you have any ideas what I can do to test it further so I don't get stranded 😅
Where do you live, I want you to work on my truck! Thanks for the video.
I usually use a small pick to get them out. It can be a pain.
Hello you the best thank you
Great Videos!!
Is the ICP sensor in the front of the passenger side valve cover or is it in the high pressure oil pump?
What are the codes?
Did you find out the problem?
Jump the crankshaft wire to the computor, do the same with cram senso.
