GX460 mods: crawl control, MTS, Carlink, PPF

- Update on my GX, installed the following:
- Carlink ASCL6 cellular module: amzn.to/37pNF2y for remote start from app iPhone/Android/Apple watch
- Crawl Control (part# 84970-60090)
- MTS (multi terrain select) (Part# 859A1-60040
- 3M PRO Series paint protection film: rover.ebay.com... PPF
- window visors: rover.ebay.com... PPF
- center console storage tray
Everything but the PPF was DIY.
I've added the part numbers for the CC and MTS in the video description. Parts can be purchased from any online Lexus dealer, just do a Google search on the part numbers and look for the lowest price. These part numbers apply to 2014+ GX models

Check on Amazon, I think it was similar to the 4Runner
What year is your GX? You are worried that the mods may void the warranty?
Not worried because those items can be removed and originals put back in a matter of minutes.
Just found your channel - Great stuff!
I have remote start for mine through the Lexus app but it shuts off when you depress the brake and you have to restart the car.
Does your version do the same?
Hi Adam, yes all remote start systems for Lexus and Toyota do the same thing. Engine shutoff when door is opened. Unfortunately there is nothing that can remedy this annoying behavior, it's just a security thing that Toyota/Lexus have Incorporated into all their vehicles.

What is your mile per gallon after the modifications? I have the same car and want to do some modifications, too, like the Prinsu rooftop rack.

I just found your channel great videos. But my question is when you replace the switches for crawl control do you loose the DAC feature? Thank you for your help.
Hi Dario, you technically lose DAC but you gain the crawl control. Also the DAC feature is already a part of the crawl control except it better. I think you should search TH-cam for videos explaining what exactly is DAC and what is Crawl control.
To make it simple.... No you won't lose DAC 😉

If you don’t mind me asking ,what was the total cost for parts for the cc and mts? Obviously labor was free since you did it yourself. It’s just so hard for me to find a gx460 with these options installed from factory
Hi Jonathan, I don't believe there were any GX460 in the USA with CC or MTS, I think the part numbers were discovered from Canadian GX460. I think only the 2020/21 might have had that option here in the USA. Total cost is just under $400-500 for both depending on what you find online. Good luck and thanks for watching!

I've been using my phone to record videos but that's getting annoying. I will do a video on the install next week after i get my new camera, should be much easier to make videos with a dedicated camera. Also bought a drone so i can make some videos when i go offroad to test the new systems in the GX.

The crawl control switches look different. they have two additional switches on top for a total of 4 switches.
No sir, you're taking about the air suspension switch and ride comfort switch, those are only on the LUXURY trim GX
Do you know if that carlink can be used in a 2015 gx without the lexus suit ability?
Yes, carlink is entirely separate and not dependent on Lexus suit. Carlink is an add-on for the remote start module from 12 volt solutions
