    Great video thank you very much . I was searching for how to program the board ID also known as the module address on my DS 64’s . I am using Loconet connection but without a PC .

    Hi Mike I had a quick question I'm using digitrak Zephyr the 3:00 amp 3 volt I hooked up to DIA 64's for my turnouts to the track power and I'm not getting any power do I need more power than what the shepherd can supply

    Great video as usual Mike. Pages 9 & 10 in the DS64 manual deal with the addressing of the board ID for the decoder which is only really needed if you plan to use the inputs on the DS64 for sensors or other manual switching of turnouts and want that info sent via Loconet to other devices on the Loconet.

      True. It is one of the worst written manuals in history though. IMHO

    Thanks - very helpful, 7 yrs later ... now they have DS74, planning to build a large layout with about 60 switches, some can be combined as you have shown, just wondering if I should use DC on some and use DCC on essential ones that will be used often ? Or is there a better way ? Say DCC off the mains, then local DC within in each yard ?

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure I understand DC or DCC to what??

    • @patricksparks6631
      @patricksparks6631 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@N-Scale Using DC to control secondary switches with DC direct to switch to perated the Switch machine at local .... and DCC for Primary (main line) switches. 60 switches all DCC would mean 15 DS74 boxes @$76/ ... $1140
      Just a thought to save $. Some switches may hardly be used, kind of a waste.

    As far as powering these units, can you plug the PS 14 directly to one unit and then daisy wires to the power contacts?

    When programing the "controller", do the "slots" go left to right OR do the "slots" go right to left? This is the best display on how to program the "controller". Thank You. Oh! Does this programming apply to the DS74?

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Thx always for your videos - just reading the manual for my 1st DS64
    1) Not clear to me if I need to also connect TRKa & b if I am using the LocoNet cable & PS14.
    2) What is the factory default Board ID of the DS64 - manual shows how to change it, but doesn't say what it comes as? Maybe so silly that it is "01"?
    3) VERY interesting that it looses it's mind after ~ 14 days!

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes comes as 01 and if you are using the loconet cable you should not need track A and B in.

    Hi Mike can i use the DS64 to actuate servos ( as in model aircraft ) im fitting them on my new layout , they need a 3 wire connection red live black nutural and the signal wire, i know you can get units that operate servos, just wondered if these would

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to refer you to the Digitrax page for that as I do not use any servo's.
      Thanks , Mike

    Hi Mike, Does the button issue only happen in radio mode, or does it also happen when you are plugged into the LocoNet? I have an older Empire Builder with the DT100 throttles, can you still program the DS64's with the DT100 throttle?
    Or do you need a DT402 or DT500 Throttle?
    P.S. Tell your boss (wife) your videos are all very informative, thank you for continuing to post your helpful videos.

    i take a grease pen and mark the face of the DS-64 machine with the address of the outputs. I "only" have 24 or so ... but I had NO IDEA that these machines have a 2 week memory. this is a BIG DEAL. I'm running a 4 JMRI panels, and these stationary decoders make remote control fantastic....and i use 4 bi-color LEDs to set the addresses.

    Thanks Mike. I just spent the last few days programming my DT decoders with a Zephyr Extra and had the same thing with LCD digits not always being what I expected them to be, thought I was losing my marbles. Guess it's little bug with DT.

      THEASES BAUCHMAN SWITCH'S FROM THE 60'S NOT THE NEWER ONES. I DON'T THINK THEY R DCC AND NOT ONLY THAT I HAVE ALL THE CONTROLERS FOR THE SWITCH'S. WHICH WAS USED AS A DC PLATFORM. ONE OF MY RELITIVE PASSED AWAY AND HAVE 9 BOXES OF HOUSES, NASCAR, TREES AND SOFORTH. THE ONLY THING I HAD TO BUY WAS DIGITRAX SYS. AND FLEX TRAC. IF U CAN TELL ME WHAT ELS THEY R USED FOR OTHER THEN SWITCHES, I MIGHT CONSIDER IT. TKS FOR RESPONDING SO QUICKLY AS ALWAYS UR VIDEOS R GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SKIP
