    I'm generally not a fan of modern day multi-cam sitcoms, but I absolutely adored One Day at a Time. It was genuinely hilarious while also being really touching. I hope this show goes on for years and years.

    I loved this show so much! We haven't seen sitcoms with this quality of writing in a long time. Stories about real people facing real problems, you know it's a good show when you start caring for the characters immediately. Netflix, we need more seasons of this show!!! P.S. You could also bring back other Norman Lear comedies. I'm thinking that with what's going on now politically, bringing back Maude and All in the Family would be incredible! Oh my god, just think of the casting possibilities!

    I really loved this show. This is really perfectly written, and even if it's very amusing it's also very smart and touching. I think that's the various subjects can really get some people thinking about themselves or about the society, without being moralizing .

    I'll have to give this a watch. I've been a fan of Justina since she was on Six Feet Under--she has great energy and is a natural on camera.

    This series doesn't represent the Cuban-American family. It's a Norman Learish one-size fits all Latino Family where none of the actors are Cuban-Americans and all of the writers are non-Cuban "Latinos." I believe that the co-creater and executive producer is Cuban, but evidently, she's more interested in making this a non-descript Latino show than anything else. Even Justina Machado seems to hammer this in when she is really unable to explain how this represents the Cuban family and keeps on going back to her "this is a Latino show."

    16:25 “you guys talk a lot about Puerto Rico cause you’re both from there, right?” Lmao what a dumb question. This interviewer was awful.

    This looks good but why does every latino show have to have at least one person with an accent as if all latinos are immigrant. I'm not hating on the show, this is just how I feel. I don't have an accent, my mother didn't have an accent, my nieces and nephews don't have accents, and neither do their children. My mom's parents didn't have accents and I can go back generations and all US citizens.

      My mother has an accent and I'm first generation in my family, so to me this is actually endearing and not something to be ashamed of. This is also a Cuban American story, what did u think? There is going to be an accent for abuelita. I do get in some form how u wish mainstream society can move pass this, but hey a Latina writer is on this show. It's a win!

    • @Kristina-gz2wu
      @Kristina-gz2wu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bobby, I'm not saying it is something to be ashamed of, my grandparents on my fathers side were from Mexico. If Rita's accent was authentic I wouldn't have a problem with it, but she is faking an accent, that's what bothers me.

    • @bobbyreyes6609
      @bobbyreyes6609 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Kristina Servin she explained it in interviews that she is doing it to honor her mother. She felt she wanted to be authentic to the character that was written. This is what the creators wanted and the writer of the show wanted.

    • @Kristina-gz2wu
      @Kristina-gz2wu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bobby, I understand the reasoning, but I still don't like it. I want to watch the show because there are so very few shows with Latinos, but I just can't bring myself to watch it. The same was true for the Brothers Garcia, I watched one episode and was put off by the stereotypes. However, I loved the George Lopez show. Trust me, I know there are many people out there with accents and some that fit some of those stereotypes, but like most minorities, I don't want to be put in a box of a 2 dimensional character. Why couldn't they find an actress with an authentic accent?
