The film follows Ana Maria and her family through her quince celebration. I've often wondered what has changed and what is still similar now, 20 years later in the celebration of quinces. I've attended many in the past but have not recently in the last years.

Also I'm 19 and did not have a sweet 16 as expected; as I 'm trying to figure a big party for my twentieth birthday, especially the dress, my favorite part of los quince anos. Someone responded to a comment I made by saying : It's never too late to quince..." That's what's spurred me into planning the dress and party next year.
I was just at Vienna Austria for 2 weeks the dance from Andre RIEU concert looks exactly like a quinceanera dance & style It’s honestly the city of music & very beautiful city lol that’s why I’m here cuz it reminded me of a lot of Mexican and Mexican American culture (depends on who you are of course ) God bless

I am a choreographer and you are absolutely correct. The practices for the dance are my favorite times I miss it every time they end. I love the confidence each member gains to dance in public the memories are priceless 👍👍💕

I think that an intimate ceremony/celebration of life with your family before the big party should be considered. It does not have to be religious it can just be something that you consider your closet friends and family being present and celebrating you! In the end, this is YOUR celebration and you should do what makes you feel like a true quinceanera. I hope this answered your question lol
