I was sort of disappointed when Hasbro straight up repainted tarn into bludgeon instead of giving him a different body and tank mode. But combined with a striking color scheme and a new sword, it’s grown on me and I think it’s worth double dipping on the mold
I was disappointed that they didn’t retool it more since the figure is based on his IDW2 design and it isn’t close to that. But as a RID15 Bludegon it’s okay.
they should have remade the chest, IMO, since the character has had 'big naturals' since his inception, even just a superficial touch to give some more sense of bulk

Agreed. I do wish they'd incorporated more of Alex Milne's design, but I still plan to get it none the less.
I was dissapointed when the only tooling difference was a new head and sword and they didnt fix any of the problems with the figure itself. Never planned to double dip on this mould but when they did that I was even less likely.
The irony of a character named Bludgeon being a swordsman always amuses me
Well, originally, he never came with a sword in the G1 toy.
Giving the Tarn mold a melee weapon is a definite plus. A good friend of mine (who may or may not see this comment lol) has opted to give his Tarn Legacy Blitzwing's sword, and it looks amazing with him. I've since done the same. Bludgeon's a really cool character, so it's nice to see him get a new figure.
Bludgeon is one of my all time favourites after all the time spent playing him as King Pig in Angry Birds transformers
This mold being super possible, adding a sword to it, GOLD. I have this guys myself and he does not disappoint on the slightest when posing with a sword
Man hopefully we get a banzaitron repaint from this figure

Love that idea! You could even throw in a battle master, and put it in selects easily.

He's okay, but I really hope we get a fully unique mold Bludgeon at some point.
I really want one to look like his appearance in Forged to Fight or the Revenge of the Fallen figure. It was both comic accurate and modernized. But this Legacy one will do for now.
Bludgeon deserves his own mold. In the earth wars phone game he stores his sword on the cannon of the tank and his tank looks so great. They should had done something to him like that. Hasbro already haves a lot of reused characters: the seekers, cliffjumper, iron hide and more. Hope this bludgeon on tarns body is a one time thing
I like it personally. It's basically the Cyberverse design which never got a toy outside of a 1 step changer. My only complaints is they shoulda found a way to change the treads and give his sword a scabbard

I am so glad Bludgeon didn't use the Earthrise Megatron mold. While I have issues with the Tarn mold (chest pops off, hinged shoulders, loose knees) it's still agile, and suitable enough for Bludgeon with very little tooling needed. I love how the fantastic new head sculpt, colors, and sword are more than enough to differentiate him from Tarn and still properly represent the character. Really dislike the transformation, and the tank does absolutely nothing for me but as an articulated scary samurai robot action figure he's about perfect. Preordered mine on BBTS a month ago so no fear missing out on this guy as Tarn is near impossible to get now.
I gave the psylocke blade from the
X-Spanse figure to Tarn (because why not) and I agree that these are way better with swords

I agree that giving Tarn a melee weapon makes him better, I routinely pose mine with either Skullgrin's sword-guns or Blitzwing's sword.
I gave that weird sword thing from that baiwei ironhide to him and I couldn't agree more

I still like tarn a little bit more, bludgeon could've had more new details to be a little more distinguished but he stilll looks hella awesome
Honestly I prefer tarns colors on this mould and I wouldve preferred it if they waited like a year so they could release this for people who missed out on tarn instead of releasing it only half a year later for the people who missed tarn. I'm honestly on the fence about this mould as someone lucky enough to have gotten tarn so I highly doubt I'll get the mould again in worse colors with a different head and new sword and mould degregation.
The shoulders and arms on this mould turn an EASY 10/10 figure into like a 6/10

Largest disappointment is that he’s a samurai character with nothing but a sword and his head being samurai related. The ROTF figure making him actually feel like a samurai did a lot more for me.
That's how the design this toy was based off was too.

The only thing I wish they did with bludgeon is give him wrist tilts so you can make his sword posing better.

I can get Tarn or bludgeon becouse both of them are not available online or in stores in our country and shipping Is like 20 dollars but we still Have legacy arcee on shelfs.
All the molding is fine but he desperately needs some skirt pieces, hes missing too much of the samurai armor detailing

Having been playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3, I put him in that “pulling blade from sheath in a slash” pose and it looks so gooood. Especially when set against Legacy Metalhawk. I like to think they are rivals of sorts: a silver-bladed Paladin leading the Autobot Pretenders versus a dark Metalikato Ronin in charge of an elite Decepticon force. I imagine Animated Prowl would also make a good match.

This video is for adult collectors because children shouldn't play with swords. I'm a sucker for any figure with a sword. Still though, ideally Hasbro should've created a new mold for Bludgeon.

I preordered mine some time ago and I don’t regret it, I absolutely love the figure, by far one of the best figures ever, plus I already slightly knew about this character because of angry bird transforms, so getting bludgeon was a treat cause I really liked him in the game when I was younger

6:08 it's probably an individual problem, since your Bludgeon has that but Tarn doesn't. For example, my Tarn has a problem with that too. Also the chest piece on my copy likes to pop out, too. So it's probably just a problem with mold that happens from time to time.
The only thing that I hate about it is the clown shoes. Seriously, they couldn't throw in some grey to make them look less like bricks?
Honestly, love the R.I.D. 2015 figure of Bludgeon... and so Im going to get this one to go with him.

I wonder if Hasbro will repaint Bludgeon into RID 2015 Blastwave (I think that was his name) but since it's RID 2015 I reckon Hasbro will keep it minimum to the inclusion in legacy with only new and major characters from the show like Strongarm and some of the Decepticons. Meaning Blastwave is probably never gonna happen
Well, the listings for the upcoming _Generations Prime_ toyline next year will include The Fallen, formerly Megatronus Prime (or just Megatronus in general), but they didn't specify _what_ version of The Fallen it would be since we already had The Fallen from _Revenge of the Fallen_ in Studio Series.
Personally, I hope it's the RID 2015 version of The Fallen. I watched the episode "Battlegrounds, Part 2" on the Transformers TH-cam channel, and I was smitten by Gil Gerard's portrayal of The Fallen, which hewed more closely to his live-action counterpart.

Edit: I got him! Easily my favorite legacy figure that I’ve gotten so far, the colors are gorgeous to look at, and the sword is perfect for this mold, he currently sits on my shelf threatening to behead my earth rise Optimus

Tbh.... I feel Bludgeon was a downgrade for Bludgeon designs: as a Samurai I feel he needs more bulk. I seen customs of him into Banzaitron and Blastwave though and they honestly make him look so much better, more so Blastwave, so it could be the brightness of the mold being not what I am vibing with but then again both Banzaitron and Blastwave are Bludgeon lookalikes and or characters with nondistinct appearances to fit anywhere. How to fix this look for me honestly changes too much of the mold because its mostly adding bulk; an issue weirdly common this wave:
- Bludgeon looks kinda emanciated/twinkish, he is a *Samurai*, he needs the bulk to look right
- Detritus in alt mode feels like he needed more bulk but its the Siege Hound mold first and honestly its a good toy and without the full cage lining it looks naked
- Shadow Striker is one I am fine with but people want more of the Cyberverse design which would be adding more paint of the Cyan variety and the bulk I think could have been added is just a minor optional idea of flaring out a chest panel wing idea
- Strongarm... [Insert the joke of all femmes being the same molds here]. Like seriously she looks only good in Truck mode but she is tiny, I feel she should be the same sort of big Deluxe idea as Hoist and Trailbreaker, a new mold that could lead into a Sentinel Prime. I seen in hand photos and she looks minorly better but its still a situation where she just doesn't work at all for me tbh.
And then the rest are fine, Salvage is gonna be cool though... and I want to see the remolds for Venom and Barrage on Bombshell. Also Dreadwing is there, he is cool.

Saw a prototype version of this mold on eBay. Diff preordering this. I like the colors on both molds. I wonder if they’ll redo it again as an original character for Legacy. I think that’ll be cool. It’ll have the cannon and the sword, with a different head and a new name, or possibly a few remolded parts. Would like to see a Blastwave redeco of this same figure apart of the RID15 universe to go with Strongarm.

i didnt want to pony up the cash to by a bludgeon so i just gave my tarn a custom 3d printed weapon instead and now he is much better

I have the mmc tarn witch my tarn for myself, but I just bought bludgeon to lead my decepticon pretenders. Plus th smaller scale compared to the mmc works for me.
Ordered this guy twice both had the same issues the tank treads that scope out are stiff the chest piece keeps popping off gonna try a third time round if that one has problems too I'm just gonna give up trying to transform it he'll forever be in robot mode.

I don't regret my choice of getting Tarn because Bludgeon having a space tank alt mode doesn't work for me, but the sword does wonders for the mold if you do decide to get Bludgeon.
Since he's a Decepticon, if Bludgeon showed up in a movie he'd be entirely grey and silver, and since it would be a movie design he'd most likely be a hulking mess of metal spaghetti and spikes with digitigrade legs and asymmetrical arms, while his personality would be an idiotic berserk thug who dies in the first act like a chump to establish Bumblebee's badass cred. Because punny, see? He's a brute force weapon, har har. And he'd turn into a pickup truck with antlers on the hood, a dozen lights mounted on the rollbar, truck nuts, and a lift kit.
How do you get a hold of him so early, does Hasbro send them early if you pre order?

Kindaaaa bummed they reused Tarn's body. Which is fine, cause Tarn is like the best Transformer ever made, but at the same time considering Bludgeon hasn't had a new toy in years? A whole new mould would've been amazing
I hate all of the hate around this figure like seriously we've never ever once got a good bludgeon theres a clunky, way too rare rotf toy with a bad head sculpt and a mediocre Rid 2015 figure. I have been waiting for a good bludgeon for most of my life and finally there is a poseable, well proportioned figure with a great head sculpt and loads of people just complain because its a remold (Edit forgot the TFSS combiner wars one but that also just has a bad head sculpt and is badly poseable)
