As you know I have the XL case, which is a beast. I bought the pick and pluck version but found it not durable after time (even sprayed with plastidip) so bought some wave foam inserts for it, which also allows versatility on what you put in the case. I also have one of the pistol cases which I have done Kaizen foam inserts for a couple of my pistols.
Yeah the XL is a monster of a case. Just like you I have found the wave foam way more convenient. Maybe doesn't look quite so professional but it works.
To be honest it depends what's in there. I've not had any issues with my replicas moving about inside the case. I've also never had any issues with mags or larger optics moving about. However smaller items like small red dots, speed loaders and that type of thing can move, but only very slightly. So nothing that would cause damage. Nothing really goes flying about in there. Been using them for years and none of my gear has got damaged in there. I hope this helps.
@@rockbottomairsoft Thanks for the reply. The eggshell version might be fine for me then as its only to store my pistol with a few spare mags and the red dot (still attached to the gun). Thanks again

Does the guns and mags move about inside the case when you get the egg foam version? That’s my only worry with the egg foam version

No problem, I would think the eggshell would be fine for that. All my pistols are kept in eggshell foam and they are normally fine.
