Daaaammmmmnnnnnnn Brian’s car came out sick !!!!!! I know the rusty look was hot but as a guy who grew up in a body shop that just looks dead right to me. Awesome color combo. Stripes in black look sick. That was my favorite part of the video right there. Made me all warm and fuzzy on the inside
Brian's car looks awesome but I couldn't race a car that looked that good because I would be so pissed if it even got scratched and I know that no matter how good you are at racing your car will get damaged at some point either by the other driver messing up, something breaking, or just bad luck but at least Brian can do almost any repairs himself that is if he can't do them all 😊
John you are an amazing individual and an inspiration to me. I love that when you learn from a mistake you made that you share it with us so that hopefully we don't make the same mistake and that you don't cut out parts like when you forgot that washer and instead use it to not only show us what not to do but that you are not perfect keep up the awesome content
@@TurboJohnRacing it shows that you are as real as the rest of us after all we learn more from our mistakes and failures than we ever would if everything went perfect all the time
I wish Charlotte, NC was closer so I could share some of that shop cost and have those connections and help. Your a lucky man to have that group to work with.
You know, considering how long ago the Powerglide was developed, that Engineer really knew his shit. If there was a Nobel Prize for racing he should have won it.......LOL
Another great vid! Gives me the confidence to rebuild mine when the time comes. Thanks for the info. Side note that paint job looks sick on that thing!
One thing to note on those Torrington bearings. If they are installed backwards you’ll have zero fluid pressure... at least on a 700r4... I’d assume it’s the same for a PG
I know zero about trans, But have been searching for a parking pawl replacement video. My 67 Chevelle 2spd PG, rolls freely in park, and this is where I think the problem is. I havent removed the pan yet to look. Trying to locate the procedure first. Do you have a video? Thanks!
Great video john why don't u build a solid mount for the transmission? Also I'm curious if u can make a video about aluminum cases vs steel cases for powerglides also the different types of valve body's
Is the vasco input shaft a th400 spline? and what is the ringed vs ringless mean? only reason for asking is i bought a fti lvl5 pg and was wondering if i could still use my th400 converter.worse case i can just buy the right input shaft thanks for any guidance.
Yes, a power glide splined converter is 17 tooth (I think) is weak. the turbo spline converter and shaft are normally used on the higher power applications. Ring less shaft is way stronger, but the front pump has to match shaft.

Thanks, it is funny when I screw it up!

I'm a bit surprised you didn't remove the servo cover to inspect/replace the piston seals as well as the reverse piston... you were right there.

It really is amazing! They over engineered it for sure! Even the stock 1.82 and 1.76 planetary are pretty strong
Great video as always and Brians car looks awesome that color with the black stripes to match. Time to paint yours next lol
John's car was lucky it got painted the first time lol...

Thanks for the compliments on the 68!!! I would show y’all more pics but it won’t let me post them here.
If that’s your car Brian then your gonna have stop going racing and go to more car shows. Super slick.

Keep up the good content. Really enjoying these how to video's.
Awesome VID !💪🏼 I'm about to try diagnose what going on with mine, won't move out of gear. At least I know what I should be looking at now. THANKS :)

Good stuff brother.

I like the trans mount to be rubber since the engine is solid sounded. I don’t want the trans to bind, if there is any twist.
What set up are you using as far as a cooler TJ? Love the videos btw. Very sharp
I thought that other glide in the bag was the fresh one you were sending me? 😊
Thanks man, very informative.
Great vid man. 👍🏻 Oh BTW, it’s a parking “PAWL” not “PROWL” 😀🤭
7 inch pounds? I thought it was 72 inch pound?
It is 72 inch pounds, but I just use “Snug”.
Any Chevy trans mount will work, turbo 350,400,PG,700 there all the same
Can't wait
Great video

I like it.
Love the tech vids !!
Did u or do u use a detent spring for the selector?
Yes, I did not know that people have ran them without it. I guess, you depend on the shift to hold it in the correct spot?
My input shaft won't go all the way in about 1/2 inch to long
@06:45 Pawl, parking PAWL 🤦🏻♂️
Where does the wedding ring go brass bushing
✝️🇺🇸👍 thanks for the video. God bless and stay safe out there
Great video, as usual. Rubber mount instead of a poly? Interesting, seems to work well for you. Stay safe.
