Awesome model, awesome technique. The model, however, has something wrong with the materials as most of the body renders pretty brightly and the texturing is only just barely visible. The red portion of the hull looks fine, however. There appear to be missing textures in the download.
seems like I forgot to include some video textures in the download. I updated that. It looks fine for me, though I'm not sure this is also the reason it renders brightly. Let me know if it works
Good lord this is brilliant and I absolutely need to remember it - HOWEVER...Your venator model looks amazing but when I open it up and set to rendered view, the grey parts are all....glowing a soft pinkish mauve colour? 😅
Hmm, yes - it seems like its taking that citylights animation, mixing with the light blue for the colour, but theres no nodes to restrict it to the window points so it applies evenly across the hull - the UV map node at the start says its coming from Lights, but thats highlighted in red (and when you click on it it only gives options for UVMap, UVMap.001 and Dark, so I presume its missing some data here?)
That means the texture are missing. Should not be the case, I will try to fix that for the future. What you can do is go to files > external data > find missing files, and then locate the textures folder

Your modeling of the Star Destroyer is very impressive. By the way, how did you achieve all the grooves on the surface of your model?
I can make a quick tutorial on that, if enough people are interested
You can achieve a similar result using a normal and alpha map
@@mlt-studiosI’d be super interested, ive been trying for ages but haven’t gotten anything with that effect!
@@mlt-studios Yeah man! Please, DO THAT🙏. I'm more impressed by the model than the choice of the concrete as texture for as spaceship.
@@mlt-studioswould love to see this!
Your videos are both informative and calming. Thanks
Thanks for sharing. This pretty much exactly how I texture my spaceships or Sci fi buildings
Great Stuff Malte!
Thanks 🥰
Nice model! As mentioned in another comment, it would be great to know how you made all the small panels.
I can do a video about that in the future, but there isn’t actually too much to it, except a lot of work
Nicely done.
Interesting approach, thanks for sharing 👍
I wanted to do the texturing lilke this. thank you for sharing!
brilliant
This is great!
Greebling Tutorial next?
You mean modelling?
@@mlt-studios Yes, random panes, pipes and stuff for extra detail
if I do texturing like this, Can I export with texture to another software? as USD or something.
Well, you need to bake these first into texture maps. Other programs can’t work with a blender node tree
@@mlt-studios that makes sence! thank you!

I’ll have a look, thanks!

@@mlt-studios Thanks, this version is much improved. It looks great now.

Ah it seems to be the citylights emission bit being mixed into the surface?

@@mlt-studios Ah it seems to be the cityLights_01.mp4 thats missing from the folder! (according the to therror message that pops up :D )
@@Wirrn Yep, my bad. Forgot to include that. Should work now, though. Just use the new link in the patreon post.

How can there be sound in Space? Most Sci-fi movies don’t care about stuff like that. As long as it loos cool
Теперь я понимаю почему придурки сняли Planet of the Apes, lol
